CHAPTER 12

I loved these three pictures of Niall in his Halloween costume and  just couldn't decide which one to post. So I made an edit and posted all of them.

My cute little cow.

Niall's POV

THREE DAYS LATER.

Three days went by really quickly, and it was time for my second date with Carina.

I didn't date a lot of girls, barely two or three back in high school, and I didn't even go out on second dates.

Carina was special to me. She deserved more than just one date. Hell, she deserved many dates.

I don't really know what made me like Carina as much as I like her.

Maybe it's the way she treated me the first day we met, even though I was just a stranger to her. Maybe it's the way she makes my coffee that reminds me of home. Maybe it's because she gives me the best hugs in the whole damn world. Maybe it's because two broken people understand each other.

I don't know what it is, but I'm glad I like her.

Or is it love?

Do I love her already?

"Niall, you zone out too much for a normal boy. Like, what are you even thinking about, mate?" Matt, my coworker, asked.

Alright, he's the only person I get along really well with at work.

The others were people who would talk to me only if there was a need.

"Nothing much, mate," I said, shaking my head.

"Alright, you're smiling. This is definitely about some girl," he says with a grin on his face.

I didn't like the way he referred to Carina as some girl.

That's when it struck me.

I want her to be my girl.

"Actually," I was soon interrupted by Edward, who yelled at us.

"Get back to work, you fellas. I need y'all to go and set up everything for the next recording and make sure all is perfect."

We followed him after promising to tell Matt about Carina, and we got busy with our work.

.

.

.

Now back at home, I looked at myself in the full-length mirror of my room.

Yes, I was totally into my Halloween costume.

I had on a cow onesie, which I matched with my black Converse.

I grabbed my Audi keys and locked my front door as I exited my apartment.

I hopped into my car and drove down to Carina's apartment.

Driving to her apartment took me fifteen minutes the last time, but since today was Halloween Eve and also the weekend, it took me twice the time.

I texted her when I stopped at a red signal, which was two blocks away from her apartment.

Niall: Are you ready? I'll be there in a minute or so.

My phone went off almost instantly.

Carina: I'm ready; I'm making my way to the entrance.

Alright, I mentally replied as I put my phone down.

I pushed down the gas pedal as the signal turned green and drove to her apartment.

There she stood, wearing all black.

I pulled the car right in front of her, and she got in.

"Woah, Mr. Speed. Slow down. I thought I'd lose my feet the way you got your Audi right on my toes," she said dramatically, placing her hands on her chest.

"Well, hello to you too," I said as I chuckled.

"Hello," she said, kissing my cheek and surprising me.

"Seatbelt, please," I said as she rolled her eyes and buckled her seatbelt.

"Gangster Carina," I mumbled as I drove, getting us back onto the road.

"Speedy, Niall," she said in a low murmur.

.

.

We arrived at the cinema about twenty minutes later.

I parked my Audi in the parking area, got out of my car, and jogged towards the passenger door to open it for Carina.

"Thanks, Niall," she mumbled.

I took in her appearance. She wore all black clothes paired with brown boots. Her face looked like a kitten's face, and she had a headband that had kitten ears on it.

"What? If you're thinking about why my face looks like a kitten's face, then don't worry. It's just make-up to match my Halloween outfit," she said as she motioned towards herself, pointing at her outfit.

Oh right, girls and their obsession with make-up.

Carina didn't usually wear makeup; she was gorgeous enough to not use any cosmetics.

She started giggling.

Huh?

"What's the matter?" I asked as I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Your onesie," she continued. "Is...so...cute," she said in between giggles.

"Thank you. You look so gorgeous tonight, like a kitten." I smiled brightly at her kitty face.

"Thank you, you little cow," she giggled some more.

"Don't judge me. This onesie is way too comfortable," I said as I looked proudly at my Halloween costume.

"Oh yes, it does look comfortable," she said as she tugged on the long sleeve of my onesie.

All of a sudden, a guard walked towards us and looked at us suspiciously.

Oh, we've been in the parking area for way too long.

I took Carina's little hand in my large one and exited the parking area.

We were soon in front of the ticket counter.

"Stay here." I spoke to Carina as if I were talking to a kid.

She nodded her head, obeying me.

I stood in the queue with barely four people in it as I finally collected our tickets.

People were probably drinking their asses out and partying somewhere rather than watching a movie, unlike us.

"Let's go," I mumbled as I held the tickets in one hand and Carina's hand in the other.

As we walked into the movie theatre, I felt like there was something that I was forgetting—something really important.

Carina stopped walking and tugged at my hand.

"Niall, what about popcorn?" she asked with innocent eyes.

Oh heavens, how could I be this stupid to forget about popcorn?

"I'm sorry, Carina. I knew I was forgetting something," I said with wide eyes.

"Don't apologise. Buy me popcorn instead," she said with a mischievous grin.

I led her to the food counter, and we ordered our desired combos.

Walking into the dark theatre was hectic with the huge trays in our hands, but we managed without tripping.

Our seats were at the end. A cosy spot with almost no one around us. A family was sitting in two rows in front of ours.

We made ourselves comfortable as the movie began and stuffed our faces with popcorn and Cola.

I kept glancing at Carina, who was visibly freaking out at the scary scene that was playing and was only concentrating on her popcorn bucket.

She looked so adorable.

Once we were done with the popcorn and Cola, Carina covered her eyes with her hands.

I must admit, this movie was pretty scary.

I put my arm around Carina's shoulder, and she relaxed almost instantly under my grip.

I removed her hands from her face, and she slowly looked at me.

The bright light from the movie screen illuminated her delicate face in the dark. Her brown eyes look more hazel-like than brown.

I lean in, fixed on the trance that her eyes had pulled me into.

I leaned in even more and kissed her, slightly next to her lips. I could feel her smile under my kiss.

I pulled back, and she smiled brightly at me. I smiled too.

Happiness radiated around her.

I put my left arm around her and pulled her closer to me as she snuggled into my chest and intertwined my right hand with her left one.

This felt so good. With her wrapped in my arm and snuggled up in my chest.

Could this movie please not end?

.

.

We were now at Jensen's Chocolate Café, sipping on our hot chocolate.

The October cold was increasing rapidly with every passing day.

Carina sipped her hot chocolate and sighed a breath of relief. She had chocolate on the edge of her mouth.

This girl is so messy when it comes to consuming food.

I was so distracted by that chocolate at the edge of her mouth.

She kept talking about how she loved spending every Christmas in Galway.

She suddenly stopped talking.

Did she ask me something and wait for me to answer?

I didn't know what to do. So, I smiled.

"What?" She asked, flashing me her gorgeous smile.

"Nothing," I replied with a smile playing on my face.

She walked closer to me and kissed me on the cheek.

Would it be weird if I wanted her to kiss my lips instead of my cheek?

I wiped the corner of her lips with a tissue.

She smiled as she wrapped her arms around my torso.

Okay, this girl manages to surprise me so often.

I pulled her into a tight hug as I kissed the top of her forehead.

What an amazing date this has been.

A/N:

Hey guys, I had to really add this because this is just sooo damn cute.
