HALCYON
And all I loved, I loved alone.
■ ■ ■ ■ ■
ROSALIE HANNIGAN WAS BORN and raised in Finchley, England, or so she believed. Her whole life, at the best of times, was like a burning phoenix. Fire continued to catch and spread, leaving havoc in its wake, until the dying light fizzled out and only ashes remained. Really, it was the perfect metaphor for the utter whirlwind that was Rosalie's life. With her vibrant red hair like the flames themselves, her bright green eyes, and a sickeningly sweet smile that spoke of dangers to come, she was like a knife concealed in a teddy bear, hidden in plain sight until it was too late.
But none of that ever made sense to Rosalie, or Rosie, as a certain someone had lovingly nicknamed her. The knife was never aware of its blade, not until it found itself buried hilt-deep into the ribs of an innocent. Usually, though, the knife needed a push, a guiding hand of sorts.
Who would've thought that Rosie's would be a magical land known as Narnia, a place Rosalie Hannigan was far more connected to than she'd ever get to realise.

Disclaimer: I don't own The Chronicles of Narnia. All rights belong to C.S Lewis and his series. I only own my original character, Rosie Hannigan and her family, and any plotlines you're unable to recognise. Full credit for the character Alysanne goes to -trojanwar. Yes, this is another of our collabs. You can check out Alysanne in the companion fic to Halcyon, called Elegy.
Author's Note!
Just a note before the story starts ― -trojanwar and I have changed the ages of both the Pevensies and Caspian to suit the storyline and our OCs, Rosie and Alys. The change is nothing major, but seeing as Alys is eighteen in Prince Caspian and Rosie is sixteen, Caspian is going to be nineteen and Edmund sixteen. With Edmund aged up, Peter is now eighteen, Susan is seventeen and Lucy is fourteen. Obviously, with the two year earth and three-year Narnia time jump between Prince Caspian and Voyage of the Dawn Treader, this means that Caspian is twenty-two in the second act and Alysanne is twenty-one. Rosie and Edmund will be eighteen, and Lucy is sixteen. I hope this clears up any questions you might have :)
To add onto this ― the Hannigans are also listed above. Think Sam Claflin from Season 5 of Peaky Blinders and he is the embodiment of who I imagined for Rosalie's father. Anyways, their ages are relatively easy to follow, but this is the general idea I had for them in act one: Charles is forty-four, Ellen is forty-three, Charlie is twenty-one, Martha is twenty-four and Michael is eighteen. So when act two rolls around add on two years to these ages :)
