(OS) Oikawa Tooru: Kisses

(One-Shot) Oikawa Tooru: Kisses

"Ne, (Y/N)-chan, do you want to go get ice cream?"

"Ah, I'm good, Tooru-kun. Maybe next time?"

"Aww, really?"

"Sorry, I have things to do."

"Okay, okay. Next time for sure!"

You watched the volleyball player walk away with a fake smile on your face. As soon as he turned the corner, it faded away as you sighed and a frown overtook your lips. You reluctantly started to walk home yourself, your footsteps heavy and sluggish.

In all honesty, you did want to get ice cream with Oikawa. You wanted to laugh with him and playfully bump shoulders, smiling until your cheeks hurt. It's just you couldn't.

It wasn't Oikawa's fangirls or the fact that he spent all his free time playing volleyball. It was that you were scared to lose him by confessing your feelings and ruining your friendship. He was your best friend, for crying out loud! If you lost him, you'd be crushed forever.

You've been in love with Oikawa since the beginning of high school.

The two of you walked home together on the first day of school, stopping by a convenience store to buy drinks. You bought a tea and he got water.

The sun was setting when you looked over at him and your breath got caught in your throat. He looked godly as the golden light warmed his features, highlighting his soft smile. Wind ruffled his hair as he drew to a stop and grinned at you.

"Let's make a promise, (Y/N)-chan." He suggested.

You quirked an eyebrow. "What sort of promise?"

"Let's promise to stay by each other's sides for all of high school. You're my best friend and the last thing I want to do is grow distant. People always say it happens during high school, but I don't want to lose you." He said.

Oikawa's serious gaze sent shivers down your spine. His words had cast a tense feeling in the atmosphere that you tried to relieve with a smile.

"Of course, Tooru-kun," You winked, giggling. "Who else will remind you to hide your alien obsession?"

"Hey! Don't make fun of science,"

That was years ago.

The two of you were in your last year of high school and couldn't be more opposite even if you tried. He was the captain of the school's famous volleyball team, loved by all because of his dashing good looks and friendly personality. You were the girl that sat in the back of the class and did your work quietly, only speaking up if someone called out to you. It was a miracle that you were able to maintain your friendship with Oikawa.

On your walk home you went to a convenience store to pick up some sweet bread. As you were paying for it you noticed posters plastered up offering chocolate half-off. Ah, yes. Valentine's Day was near.

You mulled over whether or not to buy Oikawa chocolates and confess to him. But the more you thought about it the more discouraged you got. It'd be ridiculous of you to confess to your best friend in such an overused and cheesy way. You decided to pick up chocolate for the both of you and spend the day hanging out.

After all, that's what friends did. They hung out. You sighed. You didn't want to 'hang out'. You wanted to go on a date.

Damn fears, go away, you thought bitterly as you bit into your bread.

Valentine's Day rolled around much to your stomach's unease. You avoided others as you heard girls squealing about the presents they'd made and boys teasing each other about who and who wasn't going to get a girlfriend by the end of the day. According to the people sitting a few rows away from you, Oikawa had received over two dozen gifts.

Your hopes that they were over-exaggerating were flushed down the drain when you met up with Oikawa. The brunette had four bags full of boxes of chocolates. He smiled widely when he saw you waiting at the gate and ran to you, nearly dropping a bag in the process.

"You're actually here!" He laughed as he adjusted the bags.

You picked up a container that had fallen and handed it to him with a grin. "Yup, I'm here,"

"Thanks," He chuckled, pocketing the present. The two of you began to walk and he continuously stole glances at you. "Hey, (Y/N)-chan,"

You quirked an eyebrow. "Yeah?"

"Why are you hanging out with me today? You're supposed to be out confessing your feelings to a lucky man." He teased. His chocolate brown eyes twinkled as normal, but there was something else hiding in his expression that you couldn't put your finger on. It didn't last long as he quickly hid it.

You snorted and rolled your eyes. "I don't like anyone like that in our year. All the guys are immature. Class feels more like a daycare rather than a high school classroom most of the time."

"That's what high school's supposed to be like," he laughed.

You giggled along with him and soon found yourself being the only one laughing as he stared at you strangely again. "What is it?"

"It's nothing," he cheesed. Oikawa closed his bags then winked at you. "Last one to my house has to do the dishes!"

He took off sprinting and you gasped before taking off after him. "That's not fair!" You called out, laughing. "I don't exercise!" That was the understatement of the year. You'd barely ran halfway down the block and you were already out of breath.

"This is good for you!" He shouted over his shoulder.

"Tooooruuu-kuuuunnn!"

"I hate you," you whined as you put another dish into the dishwasher.

He chuckled. "No you don't,"

Oikawa continued to chew on his chocolate bar as he watched you. He looked infuriatingly amused as you did the dishes for you. You glared at him as you cleaned the final bowl then started the machine up. It growled as it started and you leaned across the counter. Strewn across it were the chocolates and wow they looked amazing.

You picked up a heart-shaped truffle and popped it in your mouth, letting out a delighted moan because of its rich flavoring. "Your fangirls make the best chocolates."

"Delicious, right?" He smiled as he watched you eat another one. You nodded in agreement, choosing to close your eyes as you savored the flavor. "I love the chocolates, but I wish there was something else I got for Valentine's Day."

Your eyes widened. "The Oikawa Tooru didn't get what he wanted for Valentine's Day?" That was unheard of. Typically the school's pretty boy got everything he could wish for and more.

He nodded and pouted out his lips. "Yeah, I didn't get any kisses,"

You stared at him blankly. Kisses? Why would he want those? He had all the delicious homemade chocolate in the world! It baffled you on why he would want kisses that someone could buy at any time.

"Really?" You asked, cocking your head to the side. "That's unexpected."

You failed to notice that he leaned in closer to you as he continued, "It's true. All I've wanted for years are kisses."

"I could give you some," you offered. It kind of sucked because that would mean you would have to run down to the store to buy some. Whatever, if it made Oikawa happy it made you happy.

"That's great, (Y/N)-chan!" He beamed.

"It's not a proble-"

You were caught off as Oikawa swooped his head down and planted his lips onto yours. He gently cupped the side of your face as he kissed you tenderly. It was instinctual that you kissed him back and it wasn't until you pulled away that you processed what just happened.

Your cheeks flushed red as you shyly ducked away from him. "I didn't think you meant that type of kiss!"

"You're so cute, (Y/N)-chan~" He cooed. Oikawa walked around the counter and hugged you against his chest. "I've been waiting for years for you to confess to me, but it looks like it'll be the other way around." He pulled away some so he was staring lovingly into your eyes. "(Y/N)-chan, I love you and want you to be my girlfriend."

Your heart swelled at his words and you threw your arms around his neck. "I love you, too, and I would love to be your girlfriend."

Oikawa smiled ear to ear as he hugged you even tighter and spun you around the kitchen. He finally set you down against a counter and put both of his arms around you so he hovered above you. A mischievous smirk tugged his lips up as he murmured, "Ne, (Y/N)-chan, I said I wanted kisses. Not just one kiss."

You didn't protest as you gave him many, many kisses.
