Fixing the bag on your shoulder you smiled as you walked through the schools hallway. You were excited to finally be able watch the volley team practice. You haven't gone in a long while due to your constant busy schedule. You missed seeing everyone play their hearts out.

You were particularly more excited to watch Karasuno's ace.

"Hey Asahi! How's volleyball? I haven't been able to watch your practices lately since I'm really busy and all."

"O-oh (F/n), uh yeah, it's been good! We're working hard."

"I meet your first-years already! Hinata and Kageyama always seem to be bickering. Hopefully one day I get to see you again!"

Sliding the metal doors open you were thrilled to see everyone.

"(F/n)! Your here!"

"Nishinoya!" You smiled brightly. He darted in your direction as Tanaka trailed behind.

Before they could throw you off balance someone threw their arm out in front of you.

"Be careful, your going to hurt her," Kiyoko stated calmly, "it's good to see you (F/n)."

"Thanks Kiyoko, it's good to see you too," You smiled and made your way to the bleachers.

"You haven't been here for a while now, so hows it been?" Daichi sat beside you as he fixed his knee pads.

"My schedule is all filled up and I couldn't find a good day to come. But I'm happy I was able to come today," You scanned the gym looking for a certain player, "so Asahi hasn't arrived yet?"

Daichi's face fell as soon as I mentioned his name, "You.. haven't heard?"

"Heard? What do you mean?"

"Asahi stopped coming to practice since our last match with Date Tech."

Your heart sank as you heard those words, "So he just left?"

Daichi nodded his head before turning towards me again, "it's alright, we've tried to convince him. It really takes a toll on Nishinoya though–"

"No, it's not alright! He told me he's been here! He's been lying to me? That's unfair! He's being unfair to the team!" You abruptly stood from the bleachers and bolted towards the exit, "i'm going to straighten that man out."

You ran towards the school hallways and searched the classrooms. You knew he was here. You just knew it. You found him exiting the school doors and began to walk towards the gate.

"Azumani Asahi!" You huffed trying to catch your breath.

"(F/n)?" He turned his heel shocked to see your figure, "w-what's wrong?"

"You know damn well what's wrong! Why would you just lie to me!"

He stayed remained silent and stared at the ground.

"Giving up isn't going to make anything better! The team needs you!" You shouted angrily.

"You wouldn't understand."

"That doesn't matter! Whether I understand it or not! The team is willing to help you! They'll always be there for you! You're an amazing ace!"

"The team doesn't need an ace who isn't able to score!" He snapped back, "they don't need me! It'll only be a waist of time."

"Nishinoya will receive the ball every time. Sugawara will always set to you. At least try for them!"

"Well there work would be gone to waist on me," He turned around and began to walk away.

Running in front of him you grabbed his wrist.

"Stop running away!"

"Let go."

"Asahi!"

"Let go (F/n)!"

You flinched as you released his wrist and stepped back.

"Don't get yourself involved into things that isn't any of your business, Leave."

"But–"

"Just leave (L/n)."

Tears cascaded from your eyes. You didn't want to anger him. But somehow it really irked you.

"FINE! I WAS ONLY TRYING TO HELP BUT YOU KNOW WHAT, KEEP RUNNING AWAY YOU–YOU COWARD!" You sprinted out the school gates not even taking a second to look back. Hot tears blurred your vision as you ran through the streets you weren't sure where you were going but it didn't matter. You scoffed to yourself.

'Now I'm the one running away.'

Two pairs of arms quickly wrapped your body. Before you could scream a hand gripped your mouth. Kicking your legs around you weren't able to remove their grip. You felt more hands hold your body still and pushing you against a wall.

"Poor girl, don't cry anymore," A man cooed into your ear. Biting the mans hand he quickly released your face.

"Get off of me you assholes!"

"Stupid bitch! You're really going to get it now!" He lifted his fist in the air and you prepared for the worst.

Closing your eyes but you felt no impact. Opening one eye you saw the man who once stood in front of you was now laying out cold on the ground.

Two strong pairs of arms wrapped around your small figure and pulled you towards their chest.

"Get away from her before I break every bone in your body," He stated angrily gripping onto you tightly.

Looking up you breathed a sigh of relief, "Asahi..."

"W-whatever!" They ran into the dark alley.

"Are you okay (F/n)?" He release you and lightly gripped your shoulder scanning you to make sure you weren't hurt.

"It's okay, I'm alright. Thank you," You bowed slightly.

"Hey, look, I'm sorry about what I said earlier. I just–"

"No, it's alright. I should be the one apologizing. You're not a coward, I just snapped all of the sudden."

"I can walk you home," He smiled softly giving your bag back to you.

"Thanks," You smiled back at him.

The rest of the walk was silent but you enjoyed his company.

"I'll see you later (F/n)," He waved to you.

"Thanks again!"

"Bye!"

You closed the door behind you but you quickly opened it back up and ran out into your porch, "Asahi!"

"Is there something wrong?"

"Just once! Come to practice! You only have to go once. Please."

He remained silent but you smiled happily.

"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow Asahi!"

Walking towards the gym you entered the doors happily. You greeted everyone as usual and skipped up to Daichi.

"Hey (F/n), you feeling better? You we're pretty angry the other day."

"Yeah I'm feeling a lot better," You assured.

"That's good, today we're going to scrimmage."

"Cool! Can't wait!"

You heard Coach Ukai yell for someone out side. You were thrilled to see who had walked through the door. You decided to keep quiet for the time being.

When Daichi had split their team for the scrimmage you were excited to finally get the opportunity to watch him play once again.

You were surprised how much Hinata and Kageyama had improved since the last time you saw them. You could tell that sugawara felt conflicted about who he should set to.

"Suga!!" Asahi raises his arm into the air with confidence, "one more!!"

The sight made you tear up. You couldn't help but cheer to the third-year.

Swinging his arm back he jumped high onto the air and with force he was able to break through the three blockers flawlessly.

It was a memorable sight to see the team in such delight.

As soon as practice had ended you greeted Asahi at the school gates.

"Good job today," You smiled patting his back.

"(F/n).."

"I hope you had fun–"

He wrapped his arms around your body as his trembled.

"Thank you (F/n)," He sobbed quietly.

"Don't just thank me, thank the whole team."

"Yeah, you're right."

"Okay, okay stop being a big emotional baby. I'm trying to go home," You laughed returning his hug.

He released you and laughed a bit, "I can walk you home."

"It's okay I can manage on my own," You reassured.

"I just want to make sure you get home safely," He blushed a bit making you snicker.

"Alright, fine, let's get going!" You grabbed his hand and ran out of the school's gates.

"Oi! Don't run so fast!"
