Smoke emitted from the kitchen, a chorus of coughing was heard as you took out the tray of homemade 'treats' you'd created for Valentine's Day.

Mate, they were burnt. Charcoal.

You groaned and threw the third batch in the bin. You just wanted to make something for Yachi since she was so good at cooking but you were absolutely hopeless. Sorry.

You'd run out of ingredients and you had a little money left, this batch of goods would be a do or die type situation.

Either you make delicious and gorgeous looking sweets or you made charcoal which charcoal topping and a charcoal purée.

I'd go with the treats.

"I can do this!" You shouted, taking off your apron which was covered in 'soot' and got rid of the smoke before the fire brigade came to you house. You took your wallet and ran to the nearest supermarket and quickly bought all the proper ingredients and some jelly crystal sachets cause if all else fails then we got jelly.

Once you got back home, you cleaned your working space and got straight into work. You had to make these, they had to be homemade and made with love!

"Yachi-san will love these!" You said aloud, thinking about your Valentine. This batch looked a lot better than the rest and you prayed that it would cook and turn out perfectly once you took it out of the oven later.

Don't jinx yourself.

Whoops, too late.

"Mother fucker!"

You took the tray put and saw the edges burnt again. You weren't impressed at all, jelly it was.

...

You had been avoiding your Valentine all day, the jelly that you had shaped into letters and shapes was safely packed into a small container surrounded by ice packs to keep it cold.

"(F/n)-san!" You heard the female shout, turning you saw the gorgeous blonde run towards you. A box of something sweet in her hands which was thrusted into your arms. "These are for you! Happy Valentine's Day."

"Yachi, thank you." You bowed as you tried to hold your blush.

"I made them last night, your favourite!" You smiled happily at the girl and gave her a hug.

"Here's your gift." You have her the container and scratched your head nervously. " I tried making handmade stuff but I kept burning it so-"

"I love it! It's so creative!" Yachi said, popping a raspberry flavoured jelly heart on her mouth. "It's the thought that counts!"

"Read the sentence it makes." You told her, watching as she assembled a sentence with the multicoloured jellies.

Be my valentine?
