Chapter #6.5 It Wasn't A Fluke

A/N: This filler may be a little boring- sorry! This is all so that the next chapter can flow better. Enjoy!~

Another day had passed, and the next few days were to be filled with non-stop training for the Karasuno team. Ritsuna was kicking herself because of the fact that she was unable to play until 2 days after, as a result of her injury. Even when she was on the court again, she was told to take it easy.

"Alright guys, let's take a quick 5 minute break!" Daichi shouts.

After taking a large drink from her water bottle, Ritsuna thanked Kiyoko and handed it back to her.

"I still can't get my jump serve right..." Ritsuna mumbled, clenching her fists in dissatisfaction.

"If you can't do a jump serve properly, don't do it at all. It's embarrassing to watch." Tsukishima teases, smirking down at her.

"Alright. I'll practice it alone, so you won't have to be embarrassed watching my failures." Ritsuna replied with a deadpanned expression.

The team sweat-dropped at her ability to not take notice of Tsukishima's teasing.

"Let's get back to practice!"

"OSU!"

*Time Skip: After Practice*

All of the team but Ritsuna left the gym to go home. Like she'd mentioned, she would practice her jump serve alone.

After a few more serves, they eventually got in, but just barely.

'Was that win from before just a fluke?' Ritsuna was starting to believe what Tsukishima had stated earlier.

She quickly shook her head and grabbed another volleyball. Now wasn't the time to be distracted. Eventually, it was time to clear up and go home.

Ritsuna nodded her head in approval, satisfied with her progress.

*Time Skip: The Next Day*

At long last, when practice came around, Ritsuna's jump serves didn't land out of bounds as much as they had before. However, she had to temporarily prioritise accuracy over power in order to succeed in doing this.

Though ever so slowly, Ritsuna's serve was evolving.

What the most unexpected thing wasn't the serve though, but it was what Ritsuna did next after she had gotten yet another serve in.

She stuck out her tongue at Tsukishima, like a 5-year-old kid.

"It wasn't a fluke." She said, before continuing to practice.

Of course, everyone was shocked at this new childish side of Ritsuna, but this just made her more loveable. Hinata was rolling on the floor laughing, and Yamaguchi tried his best not to laugh at his best friend, but this failed horribly, resulting in a glare from Tsukishima.

On her way home, it started to rain- and it poured down.

Hating herself for not bringing an umbrella on the one day the weather prediction was right, Ritsuna sprinted home.

'Why didn't I bring an umbrella?!'

Unfortunately, she wasn't looking where she was going, and ended up bumping into an extremely tall figure, and they both fell over.

"Sorry!" The male figure said, standing up and reaching out his hand to Ritsuna.

"No, I'm sorry. I wasn't looking where I was going." She replies, taking his hand and pulling herself up.

When she looked up, she saw a guy who was possibly around her age, with spiked-up hair that reminded her of a turnip. Her gaze fell onto his uniform, and her eyes widened when she read what was written on it:

'AobaJohsai VBC'

"Sorry again. I need to get going now, so bye!" Turnip head says, as he starts to walk away.

"Wait!" Ritsuna calls out, in which the male abruptly turns around. "What's your name?"

Confused, turnip head still answered the question.

"Kindaichi. My name is Kindaichi Yuutarou."

A/N: Sorry that this chapter was kinda boring and short, because it was a filler. Trust me, I'll make sure the next chapter is more interesting.
