**MAJOR SPOILER ALERT**

ANIME:

In episode 21, Sugawara was put into the game. Surprisingly, his presence alone could put the team at ease. Near the end of the episode he felt a little down since Aoba Josai had started playing seriously and were blocking and spiking more ferociously. However, Asahi returned his confidence when he said, "Send me the next one. I'll definitely get it through," and of course, he did. The spike went through and landed safely on the other side.

Episode 22 is when they show Oikawa's backstory and how he got obsessed with getting stronger. His match against Shiratorizawa was one of two things which got him to stop smiling. The other one was the Kageyama's appearance that made him feel threatened. Eventually, Iwaizumi got him back to his senses when he almost slapped Tobio in the face.

Episode 23 is when it's Yamaguchi's turn to come in as a pinch server. Although, he does fail, Daichi the ever-reliable captain tells him, "Get it in next time," which has a huge effect since Yamaguchi knows that he will play again. Kageyama also uses a one-handed toss and to his surprise, Hinata reaches it and manages to get a point. They haven't lost yet!

MANGA:

As you already know, Ennoshita was substituted in Daichi's place. His first thoughts, in chapter 118, was that he couldn't compare to Daichi's amazing receives but then told himself that he couldn't run away again and there was no point in making excuses. He can put the first and second years in their place so I wouldn't expect anything less.

Ennoshita skipped practices when the Great Coach Ukai was giving them hellish training. Although he did come back, he still regrets it and doesn't think he's fit for captain despite the fact that both Tanaka and Nishinoya voted for him. Everybody else still believes that he fits the bill perfectly.

Nakashima is closest in the prefecture to "The Small Giant" and once Hinata finds this out, he gets a lot more worked up. In chapter 121, he thought, "I will be the one to surpass the Small Giant."
