HOW-TO HELP - @Levee_Ayzis

Good day, everyone! @Levee_Ayzis here with October's How-to help article!

The question is, "How do you avoid injuries during a game?"

Firstly, as someone who's most suited for the position of a libero, I want to tell you that we do receive the most damage. Not letting the ball hit the ground is a libero's job, even if they have to fall instead of it.

To avoid major injuries, wear knee and elbow protection, for you'll have to go down with the volleyball countless of times. Have mercy upon your legs, wear the knee pads and keep Nishinoya's bruises in mind. He's a short fellow, but the taller you are, the harder you plop down on the cold court. Beware!

Libero is not the only one on the court who's in danger of getting hurt. You never know when you’ll get a ball launched in the back of your head like Kageyama, who had a misfortune of standing in front of Hinata when he was to serve the ball. Not everyone does that, but the girls from my friend's volleyball club all wear helmets. Some extra safety has never done any harm, so secure your head if you must and if you don't want to mirror the fate of Hinata getting knocked in the noggin by Asahi's spike.

I doubt you'll be trying to save the ball as desperately as the boys from Haikyuu!!, but try to avoid collisions with other people on the court. I once clashed with a dude on the opposite side of the net, which was my first and last attempt to block. One word, ouch.

Lastly, what should have really come first.. Always warm up before you start the game! Straining your muscles will only give you sprained limbs and awful aches which will continuously ring through your body until you complete rehabilitation. This will rid you of many hours you could've spent practicing, so before you jump at the match, don't forget to do some stretching. Your limbs will thank you later!

Being well equipped and careful will guarantee you less injuries and more fun during the game, you're now ready to strive for the victory!

Thank you for reading HAIKYUU-Magazine! If you have any questions, leave them in the comments or on my profile page. Have a fascinating month ahead of you!
