"Kou, I'm bored!!!" I whined, closing my laptop angrily; this school work was so horrible that I physically couldn't do anymore. Bokuto didn't flinch, his nose still buried away in his history book. I narrowed my eyes, reaching over to move this book, which fell away easily to reveal the truth behind his studious facade. My boyfriend was fast asleep, a dreamy smile on his lips as a bit of drool slipped down the side of his chin.
I couldn't help but grin at his expression. It was endearing in a goofy way, but what about him wasn't? I carefully climbed up on him so that my chin was resting on his chest, gazing up at him with soft eyes. Bokuto shifted a bit in his sleep, his smile growing slightly as his arm reached up to rest against my back. The simple action made my heart flutter with wonder; did he know that it was me laying on him? "Nah, he's not smart enough for that~" I teased in my head, the mere thought making me giggle softly. Even though Bokuto looked absolutely adorable at the moment, he couldn't help relinquish my boredom if he was asleep. "Kou, wake up~" I whined again, pressing my hands against his shoulders.
Bokuto didn't budge, still fast asleep with the same dopey smile on his face. My lips pulled into a pout, huffing a bit as I tried to think of how else to go about this. Then it came to me; the perfect way.
I leaned in, placing a small kiss on his nose. Then on his right eyelid. Then his forehead. His left cheekbone. The very tip of his chin. Every inch of his face, I place a little peck, each one filled with innocent affection for my very special boy. After a few moments of being under my assault of kisses, Bokuto's eyes fluttered opened, revealing those bright yellow irises. "Huh?" He rubbed one eye as I planted my last kiss on his slightly parted lips. "Morning sunshine~" I cooed as Bokuto came to his senses.
A wide smile graced his face, rising up like the sun; it was bright and alert, unlike his sleepy smile. He quickly sat up, letting me slide back into his lap as he tightly hugged me, swaying from side to side. "Do I get to be woken up like this everyday?!"
I giggled, hugging him just as tightly and rubbing his back. "We don't even live together, silly," Bokuto stopped rocking for a moment, pulling back to look me in the eyes. "Well then let's just live together." He said it like it was the most obvious thing in the entire world. I laughed again, shaking my head with a wistful grin. "We're still in highschool, Kou,"
"Okay then as soon as we graduate, let's live together."
Bokuto's expression was completely serious as though nothing else could possibly ever happen; his expression made me believe that we would. There wasn't that much more time before we did graduate. The idea of living with him was just... Too perfect to fathom. Still, my romantic side won out over common sense and I let myself hope that we would. "I like that idea,"
He beamed, his smile much sunnier than the cloudy day outside. "Good! Because I couldn't imagine my future any other way!" His words made me blush in spite of myself as I glanced off to the side. My eyes landed on his history book, remind me of what we were supposed to be doing all along. "Hey, wait, you're distracting me from the main point." I turned back toward him with narrowed eyes. "You were asleep when you were supposed to be studying! And we promised that we would do our homework together!"
Bokuto shrank back a bit, clearly pouting at the idea that he had to use his head. "I couldn't help it... It was just so boring, Y/n-chan! So so boring!" I sighed, knowing that he was right. Who needed school anyways? I glanced back at my closed laptop before deciding that neither of us could physically handle anymore homework today. "No, you're right. It is boring," I wrinkled my nose at the mere thought, shaking my head. "Let's go do something fun instead!"
"Really?!" Bokuto's eyes sparkled with excitement as I laughed cheerfully. "Yeah! We shouldn't waste a Saturday, after all!" Bokuto cheered at my words, scooping my up into his arms and getting off of the bed. He carried me princess style, spinning around in his own elation that he wasn't going to be forced to stare at textbooks anymore. "Wait!" He abruptly stopped, partially to my relief as I had been getting rather dizzy. "What should we do?"
I pursed my lips as I tried to think of something, when it hit me. "Let's go to the beach!" Bokuto raised an eyebrow and quirked his head. "But, uh, Y/n-chan... It's winter time."
"So what! It'll still be pretty and it might be fun to just go and be there," He still didn't seem quite convinced, so I quickly thought up something that might better entice him. "Plus, it'll probably just be the two of us there! And we can play around with the volleyball!" This made his face light up as a huge smile graced his face once again. "Oh you're right! Ooo, yeah good idea Y/n-chan! Let's go, right now!"
I giggled at his eagerness, wiggling in his arms so that he would set me down. He gently put me back on my feet and I ran to grab my limp backpack. Instead of packing away my schoolbooks, I threw in my phone, a portable charger, my wallet, as well as some other essentials. Then I headed for his closet, trading my thin longsleeve and jacket for one of his big, cozy hoodies. I threw him one too with a playful grin. "You'll wanna put that on. It'll be a lot colder by the sea." Bokuto obediently tugged it over his head and grabbed a volleyball from the corner of his room. "Now we go?"
"Now we go!"
*timeskip brought to you by Bokuto's wonderfully fat ass*
The two of us walked out of the train station, the scent of salt already hitting our noses from the small beach town. We looked at each other with wide grins and picked up our pace. Bokuto grabbed my hand, his large calloused ones completely covering my much smaller ones. Then he started sprinting, laughing with every step. I laughed in harmony with him, barely able to keep up with his pace. The charms on my bag jangled obnoxiously, but they could hardly be heard over our voices and the sound of our harsh footsteps against the wooden boardwalk.
In a few minutes we had reached the beach; it was a sandy expanse that was only severed by the crisp blue ocean waters that lapped at its edge. The sky was a pretty grey color, the clouds all puffy, each one layering against another. Seagulls squawked in the cloudy sky, dancing in the air together. The wind was bitterly cold and the smell of the sea was forefront against our noses, but it was nice. I had never really seen the beach like this.
"Y/n-chan," Bokuto spoke up, looking straight ahead at the seemingly endless ocean. "Yeah Kou?" I continued to stare at the waters; the waves were rather mesmerizing. Bokuto squeezed my hand, holding it so tightly that it almost hurt. Almost. "I'm glad I got to see this with you. It's really special."
This time I looked up at him, trying to gauge the expression on his face. It was much calmer than before, but there was this gleam in his eyes. I smiled, gently bumping my shoulder against him. "Well then that makes two of us." There was another beat of silence between us as we just enjoyed the rare sight before us.
"I love you Y/n!" Bokuto shouted out, breaking the peace. He was still looking at the water, as if he were proclaiming his feelings to the whole world, rather than just me. "I love you so much! And I can't wait to have so many more firsts with you! I can't wait to live my whole life with you!" There was a big smile on his face as he shouted. One fist was pumped in the air and his chest was heaving a bit when he finished.
Cheeks whipped red from both the chilly wind and my own emotions, I leaned my head against him with a smile just as big as his, thinking that maybe it wasn't so idealistic to believe every word he said about our future. "Don't worry, Kou. We're gonna take on everything together. I promise you that."
