KageHina: Phoenix (2)
Hinata squirmed on the ground, his shoulders and back hurt. He opened his eyes slowly, having to adjust to the darkness. He sat up and looked around himself. He was in the middle of an empty room. Around him was a force field shaped as a cube.
Carefully, he stood up and tried to run forward, but immediately fell on his face, right in front of the force field wall.
"Ow..." The small sunshine was chained up, however at his ankles. The collars were still around his neck and wrists, suppressing his Qi.
Then a wave of realisation suddenly hit him. Hinata began to panic. He jumped off the ground and ran towards the force field, however, was pulled back by the chains. He tried over and over, tripping and screaming. "Let me out, you... you heckie bad men! DO YOU HEAR ME?!"
His voice became shrill. The little boy only thought of Sugawara and how mad he will be.
On the opposite side of the cube, on a higher staircase in the dark, stood two men. One was the mysterious young boy, who kidnapped Hinata. The other one had dark red hair, which fell into his eyes. They glistered as red as rubies behind the bangs. He wore a dusty lab coat and had a crooked posture.
"Is he an idiot? He fell on his idiot-face at least ten times by now. How can he be of any importance?" The blacked haired boy grumbled and took of his mask. The creepy doctor snickered and squinted his eyes slightly.
"Ah... Tobio-kun, you really need to work on your insults, but to answer your question: Never judge a book by its-" A loud thump interrupted the doctor.
"OW OW OW OW OOOW!" Hinata has managed to tangle himself up in the chains and fell painfully on the ground. "These chains, are they magical??" He yelled as he tried to chew on them, only to realise they are out of pure metal. Now he screamed because of his teeth.
"- cover..." Tobio's anger only grew, he clenched his hands into fists. "Tendo-sama, please let me silence him..." His gaze was dark as the night. It would give anyone goose bumps.
"No, no, this is not how you treat such a special guest. He is simply scared and confused. Let's go down to him." Tendo jumped elegantly over the low fence, using only one arm and landed a few feet from the cube. "Ugh... This jump is always hard on your knees..." He mumbled to himself. Tobio followed, landing right next to him.
"Stay in the shadows for now, Tobio-kun." The boy did not like to leave his master on his own, however, would never disobey.
Hinata immediately stopped squirming and turned his head quickly. "Who goes there...?" His voice was calm and as his body relaxed the chains he had been tangled up in loosened.
"You are finally awake, my special guest!" Tendo smirked brightly, stepping into the light while clapping. Hinata gasped and pressed his back against the force field. The appearance startled the little sunshine. He only felt that way before when Sugawara got angry.
"Oh, no, no, no, do not be afraid. I will not hurt you. Weeell, if you do not cooperate, I maybe have to use a tool or two, which will make you wish you were never born." His eyes gleamed from behind his strains of hair. Hinata gulped, not daring to say a word. He had the feeling this man's eyes could see right into his soul.
"I was joking!" Tendo bursted out laughing. "My intentions with you are pure. I would never hurt you, great Phoenix." This time, Hinata raised an eyebrow and began to calm down a little.
"Phoenix? My name is Hinata." The little sunshine stroke off the chains, which covered his body and tried to stand up, which only worked partially, as his legs trembled.
"Mhm... I guessed this would be your answer. Then it's too soon to talk with you right now." Tendo clapped into his hands. "Yes, I know what we do now."
Once Tendo stepped close to the cube, the force field faded away around him. As he was inside now, the force field reappeared.
"I'm sorry, but I need to show my little miracle boy, why you are so special." Tendo's smirking creeped Hinata out, he slowly walked backwards as the mad doctor got closer to him.
The poor sunshine was very confused.
"What will you do to me?" His voice started to tremble, he slumped on the ground.
"Oh, don't worry, you will not remember this." Tendo took a syringe out of his lab coat and held it in the air to see if the liquid came out of the needle. It did.
"What?! No!" Hinata began to panic, he then realised, he still had the ability to move, his ankles were chained up, but the chains were long.
Hinata pressed his lips together, he did not dare to look into the doctor's eyes. Then, he suddenly jumped up, planning to run past Tendo and then pulling up his chains, so he would lose balance.
However, Tendo guessed Hinata's movement. Though he was surprised by his speed and the height he managed to jump from a crouching position, he still grabbed him by the chains around his ankles and pulled the orange haired boy back on the ground.
"That was not fair of me, I should have told you that, in the underground, I'm known as the Guessing Monster. Right now, it is pretty pointless to go against me."
Hinata clenched his hands into fists. "I don't care, who you are! I won't let you put needles into my body!" His eyes beamed with determination. Tendo chuckled and grabbed the sunshine's chin with his hand. "These eyes... Tobio-kun, do you see those beautiful eyes?" The doctor chuckled and turned Hinata's head from side to side.
Hinata squinted his eyes and grabbed Tendo's hand, trying to pull it away, but his grip was surprisingly strong.
"You have a great power within you, Phoenix. And your destiny is far greater than you can ever imagine. You will be the saviour of all suffering." He let go of Hinata's face and patted his head.
"I don't understand a single word you are saying. Now, let me go or the Yakuza will find you!" His voice had no tremble anymore.
"I know, I know..." Tendo chuckled. "No one does; therefore, I have to do this. Please forgive me." With a quick hand movement, he injected the violet shimmering liquid into the small boy's neck.
"Tobio-kun, quick, release the collars!" He yelled and jumped out of the force field. Hinata collapsed on the ground, pressing his hands against his head. He started to scream loudly. Purple veins popped up from under his skin. The cry of pain resonated across the dark room.
Meanwhile, in a traditional mansion, 100 miles away...
"Dear Dragon Head, my name is Sawamura Daichi, these are my colleagues, Tetsuro Kuroo and Kotaro Bokuto. We are members of a special task force, operating for and with Naturals, likewise Gifted. We are specialised in underworld activity. We would like to exchange some information with you." The man with the three-day beard looked stern, however neither Akaashi nor Sugawara were impressed.
"Aha, I'm happy for you, but why in the fuck should I cooperate with the crappy police?" Sugawara slammed his hands on the desk and watched the three carefully. The one called Bokuto wore a slightly ripped jacket and a lousy buttoned shirt. A twig was in his hair and his cheeks had dirt on them. The other one, Kuroo, had messy black hair, however, a neat shirt and black pants with a clean long trench coat. The one in the middle, probably the unofficial leader of this trio, was a mix of both. His tie was loose, his hair messy, he did not shave, though his trench coat and trousers were clean.
"Technically, we are a non-governmental organisation. We are not bounded by law. Therefore, we consider working with you." Daichi stayed calm too and looked Sugawara straight in the eyes. "Oh, so you consider working with us? Should I fall on my knees and praise you? Do not make me laugh. We could make you disappear without a trace." His voice was merely a hiss. He went around the table to get closer to the group of men.
"Mhm... You could make us disappear, but then you would lack valuable information on the Phoenix ca-" Daichi was suddenly interrupted by a dagger at his throat. Kuroo and Bokuto put their hands on their weapons, Akaashi drew his katana a little out of its sheath, already analysing his opponent's weaknesses.
The room was filled with a tensed atmosphere, everyone ready to slice a throat.
"You are not allowed to say this word, do you hear me." The Dragon Head did not need his powers to make his authority felt. The point of the dagger already pierced through the detective's skin. A trace of blood ran down his neck. Kuroo and Bokuto wanted to outfling their weapons, however stopped when Daichi raised a hand.
"Listen, according to your reaction, you are very aware of this case. We have information you could be interested in. We are also already involved with the kidnapping of your protege. If you don't want the actual police or the PSIA (Public Security Intelligence Agency) here, we should cooperate." Sugawara's eye flinched, he sighed irritated and put the dagger back in its sheath on his thigh.
"Alright. I could need some non-governmental secret service, I guess."
Akaashi widened his eyes surprised.
"Sugawara-san, are you sure about that? I could kill them right now." He had already drawn his katana, but Sugawara shook his head.
"No, Hinata's safety and whereabouts are currently the highest priority. And if it means to cooperate with these... People, I will not hesitate."
"Uhm... We are still right next to you. We can hear you." This time, it wasn't Daichi, who spoke but Kuroo.
"But one thing-" Sugawara completely ignored his guest's words. "We need your badges."
Kuroo smirked in annoyance, as the grey haired had previously ignored him. "Oi, you don't need to think you have the higher ground here. In fact, you need us more than we do." Akaashi stepped in front of Sugawara, his hand never leaving the handle of his katana.
"You are not threatening the Dragon Head in his own home." His voice was as cold as his gaze and Kuroo had to gulp once, however maintained his posture.
"Woooah, this sword looks really awesome!" Bokuto had squatted down and stroke the sheath with his finger. Akaashi immediately reacted and with a quick swing around he snapped his finger away with the sheath. "Do not even dare to touch it." The black haired hissed, now ready to fight these two morons.
"Enough. Kuroo, Bokuto step back. Mister Dragon Head, we will not give you our badges." Daichi grabbed the two men by their collar and pulled them back. Sugawara patted Akaashi's shoulder. "We can get them by-"
The squabble was suddenly interrupted by someone knocking on the door.
"You can come in."
A young boy's head with cat ears glanced through the doorframe. It was Kenma, with a holographic tablet in his arm. Sugawara smirked a little and supported himself against his desk. "This is my IT intelligence, Neko." He tapped twice on the desk and Kenma nodded as response.
"Excuse me..." The cat boy whispered and elegantly squiggled through the group of men.
Everyone was speechless by the grace and beauty. They did not even realise that Kenma was in fact a boy.
Is every Yakuza this graceful and beautiful? How unfair...
"Well, I am glad that we were able to resolve this little dispute without violence." The three men looked a bit confused, but widened their eyes in shock, as they saw the petite boy wiggling his tail, on which three badges dangled.
"Oi, you little-" Kuroo wanted to step forward, but was held back by Daichi.
"Alright, let's end this kindergarten-play. In this very second an innocent person was kidnapped. We need information asap." Daichi sighed annoyed and rubbed the brick of his nose.
Sugawara widened his eyes a bit, feeling embarrassed for the first time.
"You are right. But let us move this conversation to a more comfortable room. Follow me." The grey haired boy went ahead to a big conference-like room. In the middle was a kotatsu, big enough for at least six people. Around them stood traditional Samurai Armor and ancient Yari spears. He sat down, Akaashi and Kenma each next to the Dragon Head, and pressed a small button, which was attached to the kotatsu.
"Ennoshita, could you please bring us green tea-"
Bokuto interrupted the Dragon Head. "Hot chocolate for me." His voice was serious, and he tried to imitate Daichi's look, but failed and just seemed goofy.
Akaashi's eye flinched and a dark purple aurora formed itself around him. He wanted to attack the owl man, but was stopped by Sugawara, who pressed his hand on his thigh. "I am sorry, bring us four green tea, one apple juice and one hot chocolate, thank you, Ennoshita."
.
"So, we found this boy in one of our districts." Sugawara swiped the hologram, which Kenma had produced in front of them, and zoomed in on a picture. "He is new, the system did not recognise him. The only feature we were able to identify is a tattoo on his shoulder. A black feather."
Daichi stroke his chin, then nodded. "A crow's feather. He is one of the doctor's henchman, we are looking for. Sadly, we also have little to no information except he is a Hybrid. A gifted Natural if you can say. His attribute is the crow and his power is shadow manipulation. But this is about it, we know." Daichi suggested Kuroo to pack out their files, who did so.
"The doctor he is working for is better known as the 'Guessing Monster'." Kuroo said as he shoved the pictures towards the Yakuza boys. On the pictures was a scrawny man, with red hair passing a street. Sugawara gasped and widened his eyes.
"So, you know him?" Daichi said, studying Sugawara's mimic. "Yes, we do. He was a long time supplier of medications and stayed neutral. However, he had closer bonds to the leader of Blue Castle, our enemy group. I think it was three years ago, when he suddenly disappeared."
Kuroo and Daichi looked at each other and nodded. Bokuto was the only one who could not follow. He slurped loudly on his hot chocolate and followed the conversation with his eyes. Akaashi, who was tensed up by the constant slurping sounds, could not contain himself anymore, when Bokuto hissed, because he had burned his tongue.
"Hey, are you a child? What in the world are you thinking? Could you just please shut your mouth?! Such a pain in the ass! Why is this internship-baby here? This is a serious conversation!"
Akaashi had jumped up and panted a little after his screaming. Kenma and Sugawara looked at him in shock. Akaashi never had such an outbreak.
"Intern...? ... Child?" Bokuto repeated and then hid himself in a corner depressed. "He called me an intern... I am a high ranked detective..." He whispered and Kuroo bursted out laughing.
Daichi sighed. "I know what made you think that, truth be told, he really is immature and an idiot." Kuroo had to laugh more and Bokuto snapped out of his depression. "Daichi, you are supposed to say how awesome and strong I am!" Daichi again sighed, but now irritated.
"You didn't let me finish, idiot. But he really is a great investigator, though it does not seem like it, his instincts are incredible, and his strength is unmeasurable. He is of great value, because of his connection to nature and great gift. Sadly, he is currently an equal co-worker, who just did not show his abilities yet." Bokuto's eyes started to shimmer and he looked up to his friend. "D-Daichi... You truly are a great guy after all!" Akaashi could not believe what he saw. He wanted to step in but was again stopped by the Dragon Head.
"I think our dynamic will work out just fine." Sugawara smirked and folded his hands. "Since the doctor is our only clue as I assume, let's pay a visit to my lovely enemy, the Grand King..."
Back at the creepy laboratory, 100 miles aways...
Tendo and his henchman stood several feet from the force field cube, in which Hinata squirmed out of pain and scratched his neck furiously, where dark purple veins throbbed. Tendo's eyes glistered excited, he even bit his lip and moved his fingers quickly. Kageyama held his sais, which were connected by a chain, ready to protect his master.
"Patience, Kageyama-kun, the transformation will soon be completed." Right after his words, a great orange light irradiated from Hinata, who was lifted off the ground by it, unconsciously. He was devoured by the light, which slowly transformed into a great phoenix.
The phoenix was greater than the cube it was in, managing to stretch it out, though not break it.
It let out a loud squawk, which made the ground shake. Kageyama widened his eyes, his jaw dropped and the grip around his weapons strengthened.
"W-What is this, doctor?" He whispered as he watched the phoenix trying to spread out his wings in the cube. "Well, my poor clueless student, this is the true, but still reduced form of our wild orange. I am in awe, seeing him... Phoenix, I searched for decades for you. And now, you are finally here..." Tendo stepped closer towards the cube until he was able to touch the force field. The phoenix squawked and tried to pierce his giant beak through the force field, wanting to attack the professor.
"Tendo-sama, don't get too close to him." The black haired was interrupted by Tendo grabbing his wrist and pulling him closer. "Look into his eyes, Tobio-kun. You will realise, he will redeem this society, he will be our saviour." Tendo whispered these words without looking up.
Kageyama was a little annoyed, but did, as his master told him. When Kageyama stood in front of it, the phoenix calmed down, growing smaller and looking curiously at the crow.
Kageyama faced the phoenix, looking straight into his eyes. "I don't know what the big-" Suddenly, the black haired dropped his weapons, his eyes wide in shock and surprise. It seemed as if the phoenix has entered his soul. The boy found himself in abeyance and when he opened his eyes, he saw a mother with a baby surrounded by horrid flames. The woman smiled kindly and nursed the new-born, back and forth "Hush my little one... Everything will turn out just fine." She whispered and kissed its forehead. "I will not allow them to get you..." Suddenly, the flames grew larger and swallowed the mother completely. "No! Wait!" The black haired tried to save them, however, was pulled back by an invisible force. "NO!"
Kageyama fell on the ground and panted heavily. "What the... Hell was... I..." He ran his hands through his hair. Tendo snapped with his finger once, the collars from before quickly wrapped themselves around the phoenix neck, who screeched loudly. It tried to shake it off and flew uncontrollably from wall to wall. The other two collars wrapped themselves around its wings. The phoenix fell on the ground, the flames slowly vanished, leaving a shivering, but asleep, Hinata. "You probably saw one of your memories or the phoenix memories. Maybe a vision of the future. The phoenix works in mysterious ways... But he seemed very fond of you, Tobio-kun..." The emotion on the doctor's face was indescribable, which sent shivers down Kageyama's spine. He gulped once and slowly stood up, picking up his sais.
"I don't know why, master. Really, I never met this weird boy, neither did I ever see a phoenix in my life!" The young student had the feeling to explain himself, but when Tendo turned around, he immediately shut up. The doctor's face was completely distorted in a wide smirk, his eyes gleamed red. He ran his fingers down his cheeks and started to laugh hysterically. "I never thought I will have this much luck in my life!" Kageyama sweat a bit, slowly stepping backwards. He hated to see this side of his master. Tendo had fully extend his back, staying in this pose for a while. The insane smirk slowly faded away. He ran his hands over his face and breathed out once. "I am sorry Tobio-kun. I couldn't contain this bad habit of mine... Please forgive me." Kageyama shook his head hastily and attached his weapons at his back. "No, no, please, never apologise, master." He bowed deeply. Tendo chuckled quietly and patted the black haired's head. "You are a good boy. Please carry our special guest to a more comfortable room, alright?"
Kageyama blushed a little, he always did when Tendo was praising him and nodded. "Of course, master, I will!" He immediately ran to Hinata, the force field was already gone, and lifted him, carrying in both of his arms. He again bowed in front of Tendo and went upstairs, where, behind a door, a long and dark corridor was. Kageyama came to a hold in front of a door, which only was closed by a lattice door. He carefully laid down the little boy on a bed and threw a blanket over him. "As if this little idiot could save shit..." He mumbled to himself.
"At least he is more worth than you." A monotone, but a scornful voice sounded through the empty hallway. Kageyama flinched annoyed, already drawing his sais.
"What do you want, Osamu." Kageyama hissed and turned around, facing a bored boy, who leaned his shoulder against the doorframe. "Just checking on ya. I heard you've encountered my brother." Osamu stretched out his hand. A long metal serrated blade slowly rose from it. "And I told you, you should not fight him. Only I get to." His gaze was piercing cold, but Kageyama did not seem impressed. "Then let's see, who the stronger one of us is."
The professor and doctor walked to the other side of the room towards a heavy metal door, only he could enter. He scanned his eyes and put his hand on a tablet. A small wire with a needle pricked his hand several times until he could pass the doorway. He had to repeat this procedure several times until he arrived at his private room. It was a simple room with a bed and a wardrobe. A lot of modern, but also old and ancient looking books were scattered all over the floor or piled up, making several book-towers, as big as the professor.
The only unusual thing was a huge metal table in the middle of the room. On it was a at least 6 feet tall man with his eyes closed. He was covered in wires on his limbs, back and breast. His eyes were closed, and his mouth was covered with a breathing mask.
Tendo gently stroke the man's hair and kissed the mask.
"I finally found him, Wakatoshi-kun..."
