IwaOi: The lost forest spirit [Finished]

Chapter two

I knew that you wouldn't be sad, hearing about the death of your father.
You both never had a good relationship, you feared and hated your father, because he always called you, his "best achievement" and he never showed you any kind of love, comfort or warmth. He was a horrible father.
As I expected it, you weren't sad at the funeral. It was a big memorial ceremony, every relative of yours offered their condolences to you. And you would always gave them a sad and polite smile, but I knew that it wasn't honest.
During the whole ceremony, I was only watching you and at one moment, I was really scared of you, when you went to the open coffin and saw the corpse of your father, you started to... smirk. No tears, no sadness. Just a pejorative and gleeful smirk. I can't really remember the rest of the memorial ceremony, only your horrible smirk.
But afterwards, I already were in my room polishing my sword, you went to my room, you looked a bit desperate. At first I thought it was because of your father's death, but then I remembered your smirk and realised how stupid this thought was. So I put my sword on an extra holder I had for it and looked up to you.

"What do you want?"

I wasn't really in the mood to talk to you. I was so irritated by your attitude, how you changed and now are going to be the king.

"I know that I've changed a lot since we were kids... But...Iwa-chan, after the coronation, I will change completely... maybe. But promise me, that you will still stay by my side, Iwa-chan, promise it!"

I didn't understand you at first, but then I saw the look in your eyes, which  relieved me. They weren't empty looking nor mad, no, they were your old cute puppy eyes. You went closer to me and then hugged me tightly.

"Promise it... I'm begging you, I couldn't bear it without you..."

"Yeah yeah, stop being so awkward, Trashykawa. And apparently you forgot that I'm your loyal knight, I made a promise, which I'm not going to break."

Even though I called you like that, you weren't mad at all. You smiled brightly, which reminded me of our happy childhood days. We talked the whole night, making jokes, which I didn't find funny at all, but you, however, found them hilarious. We also talked about the future, if the crone would suit you and if I should call you The grand King, Oikawa or Oikawa-sama/Tooru-sama.
I just punched you, when you said that, which made you laugh even more.

"I would be so happy if Iwa-chan would call me Oikawa-sama!"

"Oi, don't even think about it Shittykawa!"

"So mean, Iwa-chan! When we were kids you never called me like that!"

"Well, as a kid I didn't know the great word combination with your name and trash."

You started to pout and I will never see something cuter than this, maybe when you laugh... But I never found someone else cuter than you, that's for sure. It was past midnight, when you slowly stood up to go back to your room. I was sad, that you had to go, but didn't show it.

"I really missed you, Iwa-chan... I missed this. But..."

"Yeah I get it. Just shut up..."

I didn't want to hear any excuses from you. I just wanted to treasure this night, the talk we had, because I had a bad feeling about our future life. You looked as if you wanted to say something, but you shook your head and looked at me for a long time. Without saying anything, you kissed my cheek and went back to your room.
I placed my hand on my cheek were I still felt your lips. I felt how my heart started to pound faster and my cheeks flushed. I really hate you, you piece of trash. Were my thoughts.
I chuckled a bit, while I took off my clothes, laying down on my bed. I closed my eyes and slowly felt asleep. But the dream I had was horrible, I can still remember it. I saw a crow and a phoenix, they both flew above a strange forest and further to a field, which looked bleak. You stood there, smirking and already starting to create bines. The crow and the phoenix slowly landed on the ground, transforming into a tall and a small boy. I couldn't see their faces, only their outlines and their eyes, seemingly glowing in the dark. You three started to fight against each other, but you didn't hit them even once, you had no chance. The tall boy was much stronger than you.
You fell on the ground and a big black scythe started to form itselfs out of crow feathers in the tall boys hands. When he reached out the scythe, that was the moment I woke up. I was panting and sweating, shocked of what I had dreamed.
This dream repeated itself, it was horrible, but I didn't want to tell you about it, still hoping that it was just a dream, not some sort of prophecy.
Time flew by fast, Mattsun, Makki and I were training a lot together and did the night watch, it was quiet in the kingdom, no war, no poverty, no famine. Until this one day came. Your coronation. People in the whole Kingdom celebrated the day and a big ceremony was planned. I remember, when we both stood in the hallway, waiting for the sign, which would allow us to go into the throne room.
You looked calm and smiled even a bit and I was just standing there, staring at the door.

"Now I'm the king... Well, at least in a few moments."

"Mhm..."

"C'mon Iwa-chan, say something! Can't you help me to calm down? I'm pretty nervous."

"You're not. I've never seen you calmer, Trashykawa. Never thought that this whiny kid will be the future King of Aoba Josai."

It was a mistake saying this, not because I insulted you, no. When you heard the words whiny kid your expression changed completely, you looked up to me and smiled, but your eyes glistered madly .

"I won't ever become that whiny child again, Iwa-chan... I'm going to protect you."

You looked at me and suddenly kissed me, but the kiss wasn't warm nor soft. It was just a brief touch of our lips, not more. You pushed me back and smirked at me, whispering: You belong to me, Iwa-chan.
And then the big doors opened and you entered the throne room. Everyone cheered, but I just stood at the entrance in total shock.
I slowly went into the hall and watched you closely. You smiled during the coronation, but I knew it was fake. I somehow remembered our conversation, when we were kids, where you said that I should be the king. And that was the moment I asked myself:
What's going on? What's wrong with you? What happened to you?
I asked these questions a lot, but, what can I do? I am the best warrior in the whole Kingdom and yet I can't protect you. When my father died, you were there for me, you protected me. When did our roles change? Was it on this day?
.
.
.
I'm sorry, I hadn't had the time to write in here, I was kinda busy. Then, let me continue the story.
You were so addicted to war. But not like your father, to gain more territory and strength, no you wanted to be feared by all other kings or how you called it, respected. You wanted to be known as the grand king and I had to fight for it. Maybe you readers will ask now: Why did you fought for him? He apparently likes you very much, you could talk to him!
Well, I did talk to him, but after a while I gave up. I'm going to show you readers the conversation we had, the time before and after the battle.

"Oi, why do you want to fight against Karasuno? Are you stupid? They are going to destroy us, our legion is too small! And they have new knights, we don't even now the number of their infantry."

"Iwa-chan... Relax. You're the invincible knight, aren't you? And, we need to show the others how strong we are. So that deaths like the one of your father can be prevented, am I right, Iwa-chan...?"

You always looked a bit mocking at me, when you said that. I didn't show it, but my heart always ached. You would take my face and kiss my forehead after this sentence. I hated this side of you. Well, I still do.

"You made a promise always staying at my side, Iwa-chan. So fight for Aoba Josai and your father, like you always wanted to..."

And that was the moment I completely gave in. I don't know if you used your magic, but I couldn't reject the offer to fight for you, even though I tried to change your mind. So I nodded, kneeled in front of you and put my fist on the left side of my chest. You loved this sight of me, didn't you?

"For my Kingdom Aoba Josai, my Clan Hajime Knights and protégé, King Tooru."

I was a very good warrior, well I was the invincible knight after all. So I nearly had no injuries after fights. I maybe came back with some scratches, but that was it. Every time you heard, that I came back, you hurried to my room. When you saw me, you would always hug me from behind and rest your chin on my shoulder. You would trace the small scratches on my skin, which would give me goose bumps and I always felt your smirk after this.

"I don't like it when you get scratches... You know that..."

"These are only small scratches, Mattsun nearly lost his arm, when he tried to protect Makki. You should worry about th-"

You hated it when I talked about my friends. You wanted me for your own. You started to kiss my neck, slowly sucking on my skin, until you left a dark love bite (or well... Let's call it hickey) until you left a hickey on my skin.
I hated the feeling I got through your lips. Pleasure and even joy.

"Oi, stop that. You're too careless. I'm afraid, that on one day someone will push you from your high throne."

I meant what I said. I was already surprised, that no one tried to kill you. Maybe they knew that you were completely insane or they feared me, because I never had serious injuries after fights. I don't know, they never tried it out. But I'm drifting off.
You always ended our conversation with the same sentence.

"You will always stay at my side, Iwa-chan, right?"

And I would answer:

"Yes. I will."

You only wanted to hear, that I'm fully under your control, that I would never say no to you. And you were right, I couldn't leave your side, even though I started to hate you more and more. But still I wanted to save you, because I saw how the darkness took over you, that the sickness slowly pulled you in and your eyes resembled a blown out candle. But sometimes I saw a flicker, which gave me hope that in this body was still my childhood friend Oikawa. Not the vessel of the lost forest spirit.
Well, again I'm drifting off...

On one day, my foreboding was granted. I had guard duty at your private room. You were writing on a peace treaty, with Aoba Josai and  Shiratorizawa, because their prince was interested in you and your magic ability. But I know that the contract was full of traps for the poor prince. Well anyway, after a while a butler rushed into your room, he was panting and needed to take a short break before he could speak. I already took my sword out of my sheath, but you held up your hand.

"What is it, Kindaichi?"

"I'm sorry to interrupt your work, my king. But a prince from the Kingdom Karasuno is waiting for you in the hall way. He says he wants to talk to you. Should I let him in?"

"Mhm...Yes, let him in."

I held the hilt of my sword and was a bit curious, who would come and what he wants from you. When the prince entered the room, I took out my sword, holding it tightly, ready to attack if it's necessary, but when I saw him, I nearly dropped my sword. This was the boy from my dream. He had black hair an dark blue eyes, which looked cold and serious. I literally heard some crows crowing in the distance. And what approved my assumption even more was the little phoenix on his shoulder.
The flames of the phoenix flickered around the princes neck and sometimes brushed his cheek, but it seemed as if they wouldn't burn him, not even tickling him.

"Oh my Seijou, Iwa-chan do you see this bird? It's in flames but still alive! How does that work? That's so awesome!"

You were so amazed by the phoenix, which looked a bit distraught by your attitude and snuggled itselfs up more to it's owner's neck. I was pulled out of my thoughts by your voice.

"Are you stupid, Bakakawa? This is a phoenix. And you can form a gigantic wall out of vines within seconds, why should a phoenix amaze you this much?"

I sighed irritated, but only hid my shock with it. I feared for your life, because I was sure that they both were the ones in my dreams. And if I'm right, that would mean they're here to kill you.

"Well I never saw one... So it's pretty incredible!"

"I'm sorry to interrup you both. I'm Kageyama Tobio, this phoenix is my loyal protector, or rather he trains to become it one day, but at least he's loyal... I dare you not to, Boke! Well, but I'm here to ask you Tooru-san, if you could teach me, how to control one's own magic ability that good."

They both were kind of weird, the phoenix even reacted to the 'boke', he pecked in Kageyama's cheek angrily.
I thought you would be flattered, but no, you looked... How should I describe it? Empty? Yes, and it seemed as if someone took over your body for a brief moment. The look in your eyes really gave me the creeps.

"I don't even have to think about it. The answer is no. I don't see any interest to waste my time with you. Thank you for your visit, please go now."

The phoenix started to crow angrily, his flames became bigger and I felt the heat of them. Kageyama was shocked for a brief moment, then became intimidating and serious. He opened his hands and some black mist started to come out of them slowly.

"You know Oikawa-san, in my place they call me a genius... So I think it would be a waste of time to deal with you."

I swung my sword and let the point of my sword stop right in front of Kageyamas neck. He wasn't fast enough to react, but his little protector. The phoenix crowed loud and wanted to attack me, but he felt the strength of my sword. Because the Hajime Knight can't use any magic, we make our swords with individual magical crystals. It only works on specific magic abilities, mine on phoenix.

"Threat the king again and you will regret it!"

Kageyama stopped immediately, when he saw the blade. The mist didn't even reach your feet and started to fade away.
You started to laugh and wrapped your arms around my neck. Your eyes completely lost everything human.

"This was very good, Tobio-chan, but oh well... This is my protector. He's known as the Invincible Knight of Aoba Josai. He could slice you both in two without even one of you noticing it. So don't try it... And now, leave my castle."

Everything you said sounded cold, even your laugh and your smile weren't warm. Kageyama let out an annoyed sound and put his hands down. I slowly removed my blade from his neck, letting the O glittering in the faint light and putting it back into the sheath. Yes, I noticed the glint.

"This was a mistake, Oikawa-san. But I do as you say, I'm leaving your castle now."

And with these words prince Tobio left. I let out a deep sigh and sat down on a chair. You weren't impressed at all and sat also down on your throne, continuing to write on your peace treaty.

"Oi Trashykawa, you really made a mistake, this kid is a genius, he has a high level of the Crow's Shadow. And his protector is really fast, without my sword he would have sliced my throat!"

"You're so mean Iwa-chan! Besides, we will never see him again, I'm sure. And with Iwa-chan at my side I will always be save. You will always protect me, right?"

I wanted to scream at you, punching the shit out of you, but I couldn't, all I could was nod.

"Yes, I will."

"Very good... You see? Nothing to worry about!"
.
.
.
I realised right now, how long I didn't wrote in here. I'm very sorry, but this is going to be my last input. Today is the day. My last battle has come. It was quiet for months in the kingdom, but suddenly, out of nowhere a crow came into your room with a letter. There was written, that you should go to the field, where the borderline of the both Kingdoms, Karasuno and Aoba Josai, was. When you read the letter, you smirked. Well, you wanted to take on a fresh challenge, namely to beat a genius. And you want me to come with you. In this moment you're deciding which weapon you want to use. I'm writing this down, to say good bye.
I never found the answer, why the Tooru's ruled the Kingdom and not the Hajime's, but I learned more about you. Like father said, sometimes we learn more by looking for the answer to a question and not finding it, than we do from learning the answer itself.

My name is Iwaizumi Hajime. I'm 20 years old and I'm the 5th generation of Hajime Knight's and probably the last. I'm known as the Invincible Knight.

My mother died right after my birth, I really looked up to my father and loved him very much, he always had the right words and cheered me up. He died on the battlefield, there was no funeral, but this was tradition, so no tragic. I had no siblings. My friends are Makki and Mattsun, they both are great soldiers, with whom I fought many battles with success.

Oikawa Tooru.

The black haired looked at these two words for a long time, clenching his fist. He crossed the name out.

Trashykawa

Again, he crossed the word out and took a deep breath, his hand was shaking a bit.

My childhood friend was Oikawa Tooru, the King of Aoba Josai. I started to call him Trashykawa, when he was 18 because of the change of his attitude. He is a wise and strong young man, but the gain of strength and his burden to inherit such a strong magic ability broke his soul and took over his body. But I stayed loyal and will until I die.

My first and last love was Oikawa Tooru. For me it was love at the first sight. I wanted to protect him, I never found someone more beautiful and cuter than him. The day he kissed me, was one of my favourite memories. I never felt so many emotions, but all were good ones. And it nearly broke my heart, when he started to avoid me. I only wanted to feel another kiss, another hug, another touch of you, which would be warm, like the one's in our past. I will stay loyal to him, even though he didn't love me, even though he couldn't care less about my death. I will always love him.

I love you, you stupid Trashykawa.

If you're reading this now, it means that I'm either dead or you're not allowed to read this, because you're a stranger who found it before the stupid trash or you're my children, who read the memories and story of their old father or I'm still alive and allowed you reading this diary/memory book, which I don't think will ever happen.

岩泉.

The knight closed the book, kissed it once and tied it up with the necklace he inherited from his father.
There were two pendants, the first one was the emblem of the Hajime Knights and the second one was a small turquoise stone, which he received from the grand king, when they were kids. Iwaizumi stood up and hide the diary in his armour. He then went outside the castle, to the forest and further to their favourite place, the tree at the creek. The tree had a hole inside it's stem, big enough to fit the book in it. The black haired laid it in the hole and put leaves over it.
He went back to the castle, where Oikawa waited for him.
"Where were you Iwa-chan? Let's hurry to the borderline." The king had a white-turquoise armour, but no weapons. "Yeah, I had to deal with something first. Sorry, let's go."
.
It all resembled the dream, the knight had. The mystic forest, the bleak field and suddenly a crow and a phoenix flew over the field, landing only a few meters away from them. As they land, they transformed into two young men. Kageyama and his orange haired phoenix boy.
Iwaizumi took his sword out of his sheath, looking at the blade and kissing the O softly.
I won't let any blood on your beautiful initial... I promise.
.
.
.
"You underestimate me, Grand King!! I'm as powerful as your knight and I'm going to protect Prince Tobio, the future king of Karasuno!"
.
.
.
"Nahahahahahaha! Do you really think this little fire and mist could destroy my wall of vines?!"
.
.
.
"Oi, Trashykawa, don't be to careless!"
.
.
.
"You won't hurt Oikawa! I won't let this happen."
.
.
.
"You will fall, Oikawa. I told you you will regret it to fight against me. Hinata go!"
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
"I-Iwa-chan... N-No...Why are you...I was so...and y-you...No...."

The O on the Knights blade never got a single blood splatter.
