Valentine's Day Special! - Coming out to the team - Karasuno
[Aright y'all, extra special Valentine's Day bonus chapter!]
Daichi woke up next to Suga on the morning of Valentine's Day. Since the silver-haired setter's parents were gone, he was staying with Daichi for the whole week.
"Hey, Suga," he whispered to his sleeping angel, who hummed tiredly in response. "Don't you think it's about time for us to..." he trailed off, unsure.
"To what, Daichi?" Suga was still half asleep, but he turned to look at his partner, propping his head up with his arm.
"Come out to the team?" Daichi suggested hesitantly, not sure if that's what Suga wanted. But Suga smiled softly, and nodded.
"Let's do it," he said.
Daichi beamed.

"Please Asahi!" Noya begged.
"No," Asahi whispered nervously, "and please quiet down."
"Why not‽" the short libero whined.
"Because I don't want to," Asahi answered still whispering. Noya took a deep breath.
"Pleasepleasepleasepleasepleaseplease—" Noya was fully prepared to say it for however long it took, and Asahi knew that, so he cut his small boyfriend off.
"Fine," he relented. "We'll come out to the team."
"Yay!" Noya cheered.

"Ennoshita, I have a plan for Valentine's Day," Tanaka said, grinning.
"I told you I didn't want anything." Ennoshita frowned. "I'm not into that kinda stuff."
"I know, I know." Tanaka waved off the comment. "Today, I wanna come out to the team."
"What?" Ennoshita was surprised by the suggestion.
"You know," Tanaka was quickly losing confidence in his idea. "To celebrate, even though you didn't want to do presents... what do you think?"
"I think," Ennoshita smiled, "that's a great idea."

"Hey Narita," Kinoshita said as he and his boyfriend played video games on their handhelds during lunch.
"Yeah?" Narita responded.
"Should we, like, come out to the team?" Kinoshita asked.
"Nah," Narita answered offhandedly. "I mean, we don't have to keep it a secret if they ask, but they don't really care."
"Yeah," Kinoshita agreed, and they went back to their respective games.

As Kageyama walked to the place where he met Hinata in the mornings to walk to school, he was afraid of the chocolates in his school-bag melting, even though it was literally freezing outside. In hindsight, maybe giving sugar to the overly energetic Hinata wasn't the best idea, but it was too late now. Hinata sprinted up to meet Kageyama, nearly bowling him over when he slipped trying to stop himself, but the setter caught him.
"Wow! Nice receive!" Hinata said loudly, then threw his arms around his boyfriend enthusiastically. "Happy Valentine's Day Kageyama!"
"Oi! Pipe down, dumbass!" Kageyama snapped, and Hinata just laughed. He sighed taking the chocolates out of his school bag. "Happy Valentine's Day."
"Thanks Kageyama!" Hinata was grinning as always, and positively buzzing with energy. "Hey I wanna do something super special today!"
"Like what?" Kageyama asked, he still wasn't quite sure what people in a relationship did on Valentine's Day; he'd gotten the chocolate idea online.
"I want..." Hinata lowered his voice slightly, so he was speaking at a normal volume instead of shouting; that was how Kageyama knew he was serious, and maybe even a little worried. "I want to come out to the team."
Kageyama was surprised. He hadn't even thought about it—he hadn't even come out to his family yet—but he pursed his lips and nodded.
Hinata jumped up excitedly and ran a circle around Kageyama, and they set off toward the school.

Tsukkishima and Yamaguchi walked closely to school together.
"Hey Tsukki?" Yamaguchi's brows furrowed with thought. "Does the team know we're together? I mean we haven't exactly been keeping it a secret, but it's never really come up, has it?"
"No, I don't think so," Tsukkishima said after a moment of consideration.
"Should we tell them?" Yamaguchi asked offhandedly. "You know, come out to the team? Although they might already know, since we're not exactly secretive about it, but maybe we should tell them anyway. I mean seeing as its Valentine's Day and all, I wouldn't want anyone trying to take you away—"
"That's not gonna happen," Tsukkishima said sternly. "Shut up Yamaguchi."
"Sorry, Tsukki," Yams apologized, and they walked on.

"K-k-Kiyoko?" Yachi stammered, hiding a small bouquet of roses behind her back.
"Yes, love?" Kiyoko turned toward Yachi, who timidly held the roses up to her.
"These are for... for you." Kiyoko took the flowers with a smile, and kissed Yachi on the forehead. "Also, I was think... thinking..."
"You don't have to be nervous around me," Kiyoko assured sweetly. "What is it?"
"Should we come... come out to... the team?" Yachi asked. "I think we sh-should, but... but..."
"I can tell them if you want," Kiyoko offered.
"Really?"
Kiyoko smiled and nodded. Yachi let out a sigh of relief.

"Hello, Keishin," Takeda smiled as he walked into the store and greeted Ukai.
"Hey Ittetsu," Ukai smiled back. "Happy Valentine's Day."
"You too," the teacher said, and grabbed something off the shelves for lunch. "We didn't make any plans, but I was sort of wondering something."
"Yeah, what?" Ukai asked as he rung up the items.
"Should we tell the students about our relationship?" he asked.
"What? Come out to the team?" Ukai said, almost laughing. "Why? It's not like it's any of their business."
"I know," Takeda sighed, "but I feel like I'm lying to them. I've always been terrible at keeping secrets. I feel guilty."
"If you really feel strongly about it, we can," Ukai said. "But I just don't see why it should matter, or why it's any of their business. We've got each other, why should we care about others?"
"Maybe you're right." He unwrapped the sandwich he'd bought.
"Well, it's up to you," Ukai said, waving goodbye. "Whatever you decide, I'm with you. I'll see you at practice."

Finally it was time for practice, and every person involved with the volleyball team was riddled with anxiety of one form or another.
"So, who are the flowers from?" Noya asked Kiyoko at the beginning of practice.
She smiled and glanced sidelong at a heavily blushing Yachi.
"From my wonderful girlfriend."
Noya's eyes widened, and Kiyoko stepped to the side of the gym to watch before he could get out another word.
Distracted, the team played rather poorly. Hinata's spikes were too enthusiastic, and often missed their mark, almost every one of Noya's receives was a 'rolling thunder,' and Asahi missed seven tosses. Kageyama actually stumbled after delivering a jump-serve, and Daichi's commands kept coming out muddled.
"What's wrong with all of you?" Ukai demanded after calling a break. "You're way off your game today, so what's up?"
The team was silent for a while. Each couple making eye-contact without the knowledge of the others. Then Suga nodded, almost imperceptibly, and Daichi spoke.
"There's something Suga and I want to tell all of you," he began calmly, and they all gave him their attention, a few sent glances to Suga as well. "He and I are dating."
This was met with many gasps of surprise, but not for the reason the co-captain pair had been expecting.
"You too‽" Hinata said excitedly. "Me and Kageyama are dating!"
The setter's face reddened, and his gaze dropped to the ground.
"Me and Asahi, too!" Noya jumped on the ace, wrapping his arms and legs around Asahi's torso. "Right Asahi‽"
Asahi winced nervously, but nodded nonetheless.
"Ennoshita?" Tanaka looked at the reserve captain as if asking for permission. And he took the spiker's hand. "We're together too."
"A-a-and—" Yachi tried to say.
"Us, too." Kiyoko finished for her, smiling softly.
"Tsukki and I are," Yamaguchi added, "But we haven't exactly been hiding it. We didn't figure it would be such an ordeal."
"Is the whole damn team gay‽" Ukai exclaimed in exasperation.
"Well, since you asked..." Kinoshita threw his arm across his boyfriend's shoulders, while Narita nodded with a slight shrug.
Ukai let out a frustrated groan, and Takeda just chuckled. "It's not like you've really got room to talk sweetheart."
"Fine, whatever," Ukai sighed. "Now that we've all got that off our chests, can you play like people who don't suck at volleyball?"
There was a shout of agreement from the team, and they got back to work. With the weight of their supposed 'secrets' of their shoulders, they played much better. (Except Narita, he had way more secrets; he's a shifty son of a bitch, but it didn't affect his playing any more than usual.)
"Well," Takeda remarked as he and Ukai left after practice, "this was an eventful Valentine's Day."
"Why don't you come over to my place, and we can make it even more eventful," Ukai suggested quietly, but Takeda heard it and blushed loudly, gasping. Ukai just laughed.

I thought this book needed a little more absurdity, so for the special Valentine's Day chapter (two updates in one day you lucky duckies, I didn't realize Valentine's Day was an update day anyway) I figured I'd go all out, lol.
Happy Valentine's Day! Love y'all.
