I'm not 'mommy' - KuroKen

"Daddy, daddy!" called a toddler with silver hair, who was very tall for his age.

"What is it Lev?" Kuroo Tetsuro asked his adopted son, yawning as he sat up in bed, trying not to wake his husband.

"Look what I found outside!" Lev held up a beetle in his cupped hands so Kuroo could see. "What is it daddy?"

"It's a bug," Kuroo said, blinking the sleep out of his eyes.

"Oh god!" groaned Kuroo Kenma (formerly Kozume Kenma), who had, up until then, been pretending to be asleep. "Lev, what were you doing outside so early? It's, like, 3 am, it's not safe. I don't want you to do it again, okay? And why did you bring a bug in the house?"

"I got woke up by a noise outside, and goed to see what it was," Lev explained, as though it was normal, and something all small children should do (they shouldn't). "And I found this bug, and I thought it looked cool, so I bringed it in to see if daddy knowed what it was. I won't do it again mommy."

"Good, but why do you call me 'mommy', I'm a guy too," Kenma muttered under his breath. "And what made you think daddy would know what kind of bug it was anyway?"

"Daddy's really smart," Lev said solemnly, "he knows everything."

"Hey, mommy's smart too," Kuroo defended with a laugh.

"Tetsuro, don't you start," Kenma scolded, then started to grumble to himself, "I'm not 'mommy', I'm not going to respond to 'mommy'."

"Yeah," Lev answered, ignoring Kenna's interruption to address the issue at hand. "But he doesn't like bugs."

"You're right," Kuroo agreed. "He doesn't like bugs. So why don't you put it in a box or a jar and make sure it can't escape. Then I can help you figure out what it is later when it's not so early. Kay, Lev?"

Kuroo stood up, and walked the toddler out of the room to find a container, and Kenma watched them leave. He smiled to himself. Kuroo was a really good father. They had both been a little worried that they wouldn't do a good job as parents, but after being married for several years, they decided they wanted to try, so they adopted Lev.

Aside from the fact that for some reason the kid was convinced that Kenma had to be 'mommy', since Kuroo was dad, Lev was a sweet boy. Energetic, and curious, and both his dads loved him and were happy to have him.

Kenma heard some whispering and giggling in the hallway just outside his and Kuroo's room, and he suspected that the two were about to pull a prank on him, or climb into the bed and bombard him with stupid puns. It had happened before. (He secretly loved it.)

Lev ran into the room on his gangly legs, stumbling slightly, and trying to hide his giggling. Kuroo followed behind with a self-satisfied smirk. Lev jumped onto the bed and crawled up to Kenma.

"Can I sleep with you and Daddy, Papa?" Lev asked, a huge grin on his face.

"Papa?" Kenma asked, surprised, at which Lev nodded excitedly. Smiling slightly, Kenma responded, "sure, come here."

"Daddy it worked!" Lev turned to Kuroo, who looked very smug.

"I told you he'd like it. Don't you Kenma?"

"Yeah, now shut up and go to sleep." Kenma tried to sound annoyed, but it didn't really work, and Kuroo just laughed.

Then the three fell asleep, little Lev right in the middle of his two loving fathers.

[I wanted to write a pairing as parents, and this was the result. It's on the short side, but I kinda like it, so whatever. Love y'all.
