"To the beach!" Hinata shouted, sprinting out the doors to the hotel in a flurry of limbs. Kageyama followed close by, yelling something along the lines of 'Hinata boke'. Tanaka and Noya chased after the freak duo, shouting something about girls. The mum and dad of the team were helping Coach Ukai and Takeda-sensei bring out towels and such before waiting for the others that were still in the hotel. Tsukishima followed a few seconds after, getting dragged along by an energetic Yamaguchi. Ennoshita, Yachi and Shimizu followed in a more civilised manner, allowing all of them to get driven to the beach in the van that they came in with the teachers. (im sorry kinoshita and narita...you will not exist in this fanfic...IM SORRY)

By the time Hinata and Kageyama arrived at the beach, Ennoshita, Yachi, Yamaguchi, Tsukishima and the third years were waiting for them, along with the teachers. Hinata won the race, falling face first on the ground. Kageyama skidded to a halt behind him, almost tripping over the fallen Hinata.

"How did you get here so fast?!" Hinata asked after he stood up and dusted his clothes.

"Coach drove us here."  Ennoshita said, pointing to Coach Ukai.

"What?!"  Hinata exclaimed. "We could have driven here?!" 

"You were the ones that ran out of the hotel first." Ennoshita replied, turning around to help Shimizu unpack their belongings. Tanaka and Noya arrived a few moments later, growling at Ennoshita for talking to Shimizu so casually. Finding a shaded spot on the beach, a sign caught Hinata's eye.

"Ooh! They're playing volleyball over there!" He exclaimed, the team's heads snapping in his direction. "Let's go!"

"Beach volleyball tournament. It says anyone can enter." Noya said, looking up at the sign.

"Ehh! I want to, I definitely want to! I wanna give beach volleyball a try!" Hinata exclaimed, jumping up and down.

"The prize is a year's worth of protein supplements. With that, I could become more macho..." Noya mused.

"Maybe that could go towards your height." Tsukishima said, smirking.

"Why, you...!" Noya was about to attack the tall blocker when the laughing of girls caught his attention. Placing a hand on Tanaka's shoulder, he pointed to the laughing girls. Tanaka's face turned serious before they started walking to the court, determined looks on their faces. The rest of the team sighed before following the troublemakers.

"We are going to use this as practice!" Daichi exclaimed, getting agreement from the rest of the players. They split themselves into two groups of five, getting ready on their corresponding side. (group 1: Daichi, Suga, Asahi, Noya and Tanaka. group 2: Ennoshita, Kageyama, Hinata, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi.)

"Let's have a good game!" They all exclaimed, bowing at each other. By now, a small crowd had started to gather around the court, eager to watch.

"The rules are the same as standard beach volleyball, except you'll do a member change each time a point is scored!" The announcer explained.

"Hehe...We are going to beat them..." Tanaka said, a feral grin on his face.

"Agreed, Ryu." Noya replied, grinning.

First round: Daichi and Suga vs Kageyama and Hinata

The match started, Daichi serving. Hinata received it and Kageyama set it to Hinata, doing their quick. Daichi dove to receive it but got a mouthful of sand. Suga started laughing, much to Daichi's embarrassment. Everyone else on the team also laughed, hiding their grins behind their hands as they looked at their grumpy captain. Ukai and Takeda were taking sneaky photos for their amusement (and future blackmail) while the managers were cheering them on. The winner was Kageyama and Hinata.

Second round: Suga and Asahi vs Hinata and Tsukishima

The next round started, Tsukishima sending the ball over the net in a lazy serve. Asahi received it and Suga set it to the ace, the ball flying past Tsukishima's block and hitting the sand. Suga and Asahi won the match this time round.

Third round: Asahi and Noya vs Tsukishima and Yamaguchi

The whistle blew, Yamaguchi doing a jump floater serve. It went to Noya, who received it and Asahi set it to the libero. Noya jumped into the air, shouting.

"Little big thunder!" He shouted, getting yelled at by Tanaka who was watching with disbelief on the sidelines.

"Big or little, which is it?!" Tanaka exclaimed, watching Noya's spike get shut out by Tsukishima.

"Tsukishima, you-" Noya was cut off by the whistle blowing.

Tsukishima was smirking as he walked off the court. Yamaguchi and Tsukishima won the round.

Fourth round: Noya and Tanaka vs Yamaguchi and Ennoshita

Ennoshita served, Noya receiving it. Tanaka set it to his friend, Noya shouting his 'Big Little Thunder' again. Yamaguchi received it and Ennoshita set it to him. Spiking it, Yamaguchi was blocked by Tanaka, who had a shit-eating grin on his face. Tanaka and Noya won.

Fifth round: 5 vs 5 - First to get three points wins

"I saw the sign earlier, and the bonus prize is an all-you-can-eat yakuniku feast from the local shop. Whichever team gets three points first will win the bonus prize." Daichi said, once the team had gotten within hearing range. The two female managers had talked to the people hosting the event and they agreed due to Shimizu saying that Karasuno was going to Nationals. Hinata, Noya and Tanaka's eyes lit up, starting to sing and dance. (meat is god song)

"Hinata, we won't let you beat us!" Tanaka exclaimed, dramatically pointing a finger at Hinata. Fire seemed to flare up behind them, 

"We won't let you win that feast. That feast is ours." Hinata said, eyes flashing dangerously. They all flinched at his focus before Daichi clapped his hands to start the match.

Yamaguchi served, his speciality serve flying over the net. Noya received it with an overhand pass but it was off. He apologised and Suga set it to Asahi, who spiked it. Tsukishima managed to get a hand on it, slowing the spike. Ennoshita received it Kageyama set it to Hinata, who was already in the air, performing their quick. Noya failed to received it (poor noya got a facefull of sand) and Kageyama and Hinata's side got a point.

Yamaguchi served again, Daichi receiving it this time. Suga set it to Tanaka, who spiked it with determination. It hit the sand and Tanaka whooped in joy.

"Haha! Take that!" He shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Hinata. The orange haired blocker grinned before shouting.

"Bring it on!"

Asahi did his jump serve, but he misjudged the jump. The ball hit the top of the net and started to fall on the first years (and ennoshita's) side. Ennoshita managed to save it, faceplanting into the sand. (i thank you for ur sacrifice ennoshita) Hinata, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima ran up, Kageyama reaching up to set it. Instead, he dumped it over the net, much to Tanaka's annoyance. The bald spiker dove for it, shouting a curse. Suga dashed up, already ready to set. Daichi, Asahi and Noya ran up to spike it, the ball heading towards Asahi. The ace spiked it but Hinata's hands suddenly appeared, blocking the ball. It rebounded and went flying towards the sidelines. Cheering, Hinata, Kageyama, Tsukishima, Yamaguchi and Ennoshita all celebrated before shaking the opposing team's hands. 

"I guess you owe us that all-you-can-eat yakuniku feast!" Hinata exclaimed, sunshine radiating around him. The team all squint at his sunshine-ness (is that a word? it is now. by the declaration of the panda kami, sunshine-ness is now a word.) before Daichi spoke up.

"The feast is yours." Daichi said, smiling. Hinata frowned for a moment before grinning.

"I don't want it!" Indignant shouts came from the rest of his group as Hinata smiled at the captain. "What's the point of a feast if we can't eat it with the rest of you?"

They were silent for a moment before the two loud second years broke the silence. And by that, they burst into ugly tears.

"Hinata/Shoyo!" They both sobbed, hugging the middle blocker.

"Are you sure?" Daichi asked, getting a nod from Hinata.

"It's not fair otherwise! And this is to celebrate qualifying for nationals!" Hinata cheered, with a grin.

"To the feast!" Tanaka and Noya exclaimed, Hinata laughing in excitement. The rest of the team thanked the people hosting the event before following them, grins on all of their faces.
