first snow |bokuto koutarou|
"Koutarou why are you wearing such a thick jacket?" You tilted your head and looked at him curiously. Bokuto stood, bundled up in jeans and a thick wollen jacket at the doorstep of your house. He had come to pick you up for your date.
"The weather report said it will snow today!! What if it gets cold later on??" Bokuto's mouth shaped into a banana as he told you worriedly. "I think you should wear one too!! It'll get coldddd." Bokuto made a shrivering action and you stuck your head out of the door to confirm the weather.
You dead panned. "Koutarou, it's sunny outside. You'll get a heat stroke. Come inside and change. If not you'll regret. Plus, weather reports are hardly accurate." You motioned for Bokuto to head inside your house, but he shook his head vehemently. "Nuuuuuuu (F/N). Lets go for our date. If not we'll be late. The restaurant is really far and we have to walk." Bokuto whined childishly, tugging at your arm.
"Alright alright. If you get warm, I'm not helping you." You huffed, stepping out and locking the door. "Okay!! Lets go!!" He cheered, hugging you from behind and you grinned at his child-like ways.
--
"(F/N)." Bokuto stopped dead in his tracks.
"What's wrong Koutarou?" You asked, creasing your eyebrows.
"I'm hot." He breathes out, and you knew exactly what was wrong. You had already seen this coming.
"Wow, aren't you egotistic." You joked, a knowing smile playing at your lips. Bokuto shook his head vehmently. "Like, I'm feeling really uncomfortable and sweaty under this jacket. And if I take it out, it'll be really uncool to hold it in my hands and..."He trailed off, his eyes big and unblinking as he figured out that he was in a crisis.
"Koutarou," You giggled, Bokuto looked so pitiful with his puppy dog eyes, you had to hand it to him. He had won your sympathy.
Completely forgetting your promise not to help him, you slipped the jacket off his broad shoulders and proceeded to tie both arm sleeves around his waist. After you were done, you stepped back dramatically and said "Ta-da! You look cool now."
"WOAH!" He looked down at the jacket tied fashinonaly around his waist and his eyes widened in excitement. "Thanks (F/N)! You're so smart! Like Akaashi!"
"For someone so big and muscular, you're really simple-minded." You teased playfully. Standing tiptoes, you gave him a soft kiss on his left cheek, making him grin cutely at you.
--
After your date, you proceeded to make your way out of the restaurant. "Koutarou, I don't feel good letting you pay for our date. Let's split the bill." You analysed the white slip of receipt in your hands, furrowing your eyebrows. "I'll pay--"
"(F/N) LOOK!" Bokuto's beefy arms wrapped around you tightly and he pointed at the scenery through the restaurant glass doors. A blanket of white had covered the ground, with speckles of white lightly dusting the trees and bushes.
You groaned. Snow was nice to look at, but not nice to walk in. Especially not in the slippers you were wearing. Before you could stop Bokuto, he had already rushed past you like a whirlwind and joined the small kids playing in the snow.
"(F/N)! IT SNOWED!!" He grabbed a armful of snow and threw it high in the air. The look of pure excitement on his face when the snow rained back down on him made the corners of your smile twitch up in a smile.
The thing about snow was that, yes it was beautiful. BUT, you did not like the wet feeling when it melted into a cold sludge on your skin. Standing in the outside shelter of the restaurant with the still-dry pavement was the only way to escape the feeling of wet slush seeping into your slippers and making their way to your feet. No thank you. You were perfectly happy watching Bokuto enjoy the snow to himself. Furthermore, the weather report was surprisingly right. It was rather chilly, and you preferred not to expose more of yourself to the cold.
Bokuto ran up to you. "Why won't you join meeeeeeee." He rested his arms on your shoulders and pouted. You laughed and waved a hand in front of your face. "Sorry Koutarou, I don't like snow. If I walk in it in my slippers, it'll make me wet and soaky." You scrunched up your face in displeasure at the thought of you being soggy with melted snow.
"Well, that's too bad then." Bokuto said simply as he pulled his jacket on. He adjusted the sleeves and then straightened up.
Suddenly, he reached out, scooping you into his beefy arms. "Koutatou!!" You protested, squirming in his arms. However, his grip was so strong that you couldn't wiggle out. Your squirming was drawing curious stares from passersby and the restaurant patrons, making you go red in embarrassment.
You tugged at the zipper of his jacket, "Koutarou, what are you doing? People are watching! Put me down!" you hissed. Instead of putting you down, Bokuto gave you a mischeivous grin as he looked down at you. "I have to be my girlfriend's knight in shining armour!!" He gurgled, and you blushed a deeper red at how corny your boyfriend was. He trudged through the snow, holdng you bridal style, and you had to admit: you felt safe in the embrace of Bokuto's arms. People looked on, some envious looks from girls with their boyfriends, or bewildered expressions from the older generation. But you didn't mind the stares now. You were thoroughly enjoying the close proximity of your boyfriend.
"Koutarou, you don't have to do this," You whispered softly. Bokuto can be a goofball at times, but he can be caring when it comes to your well-being. You found that part of him extremely endearing.
"Nah (f/n), you're as light as a feather in my arms. By the way, are you cold? You can cuddle with my jacket." He gave you a dazzling million watt smile and you snuggled deeper into his jacket, breathing in the pleasant smell of snow and pine trees.
It began snowing lightly, and you looked up to see Bokuto's ecstatic expression as snowflakes began descending from above. You smiled. The child-like innocence of his was also an aspect you loved so much about him.
"You know something (f/n) ? I'll always love you, even if you're wet and soaky." He leaned down and placed a feathery kiss on the tip of your nose.
