It was a hard life for Kuroo Tetsurou. Single, two (adopted) kids, the memory of a forgotten lover, a crush on the person he's loved since high school, and of course his sexuality. He was openly bi, which caused problems for him in the field of possible lovers, as many women were "scared" and the men were all "no homo".
The younger of his two sons ran up to him. "Daddy! Look, Kousuke just hit a triple!"
"Go tell him his dad is proud, Ino," Kuroo cheered.
Kousuke, the older of Tetsurou's children, was an amazing baseball player, and today was a major tournament for him. The boy was overjoyed when his dad had told him about the day, and he was doing his absolute best to make Kuroo proud, though that wasn't difficult. Kuroo was proud of his kids, no matter what they did.
Ino, the younger of his children, inherited his father's love of volleyball, and often was found practicing by himself. Despite the lack of practice he had, and also the poorness in quality of each, he was quite good for his age.
Being thoroughly proud of both of his children, Kuroo wasn't much of an involved parent. If they did something good, well yay. If they got in trouble, oops try again. There was only one reason he was like that though.
Kuroo had a darker past than he would like to remember. Dating Tsukishima was a bad idea, and he honestly regretted it so much. The blonde had left a hole in his heart, and it hadn't healed since. Not only breaking up with the captain, Tsukki spat at his door, exclaiming how Kuroo "wasn't satisfying anymore" and that he "would rather be with someone who would let him have more control". Well it wasn't Kuroo's fault that he was stronger, therefore topping Tsukki most of the time. He felt bad for the poor soul that had to deal with the easily-sadistic blonde next. (please don't hate me)
Brushing the horrible, depressing thoughts of his past away, Kuroo glanced in the direction of his one true love, Kenma. The previous setter had once again grown out his bleached hair, and was fully brunette. He was with his (adopted) daughter, Airi, making what appeared to be various flower crowns. They looked lovely, but also lonely. Kuroo had known Yamaguchi left Kenma, not too long after Tsukishima had left him. Maybe it was just a coincidence, but neither of the two former Nekoma players cared anymore.
Those two would look lovely with the addition of three more, Kuroo innocently thought, letting his imagination take over.
He thought of all the fun places they could go together, the food they could make, the crafts they could create. Every thought made his eyes appear more dreamy than before, until eventually, he was cross eyed and couldn't focus on anything.
Without warning, Ino ran up to his dad.
"Whatcha staring at Daddy?" the young boy asked playfully.
"Oh nothing," Kuroo said, rubbing his eyes.
Ino looked to the place where Tetsurou had just been staring and smiled. "Okay Daddy."
That was close, Kuroo thought, asserting his gaze back toward Kenma and Airi.
Taking in their surroundings as well, Kuroo noticed that there weren't any yellow flower around them, but they were plentiful in his location. The choice was difficult, bring his love flowers, and try to start a nice, friendly conversation, or leave them alone and not cause any issues. But before he could make up his mind, Kousuke was being dragged toward him by Ino.
"Ino told me that you had your eyes on someone, and I'm supposed to help," he recounted dramatically. He moved his hands for added effect, earning a laugh from everyone.
Kou began to pick the flowers around him, making sure to not destroy or smush any.
"There," he finished. "Perfect!"
Kuroo accepted them gratefully, smiling at the kind gesture of his children.
"They're not for you silly Daddy!" Ino laughed.
"They're for that man you keep staring at," Kou explained. "We saw you keep your gaze on him and decided that we would do out best to help keep you happy."
"Oh my gosh," Kuroo simply said, still trying to take in everything that just happened.
"Go ahead!" his boys said in unison, pushing their father toward the flower field where Airi and Kenma resided.
Kuroo awkwardly walked over to his love, clutching the flowers rather tightly. It was a surprise each stem was still attached somehow, and no petals were ripped.
Somehow finally making it over to the two brunettes, Kuroo stuck the flowers out.
"T-these are for you!" he yelled, too loud for his location. He got Kenma's attention though, that was for sure.
Kenma burst into a blush, quickly grabbing the bouquet from Kuroo's hands.
"W-why don't you go play with Ino, Airi?" Kenma suggested to his daughter as calmly as he could muster. "Daddy has to talk to his friend for awhile."
"Okay!" Airi chirped happily, obviously excited that her dad may get some action in his life again. She personally wasn't a huge fan of Yamaguchi, but she loved Kuroo. He used to come over for dinner, but that stopped after both of the parents were dumped and left alone.
Before skipping away, she mouthed the words "good luck!" to her father, smiling like a small child would.
