Chapter - 01

The warm breeze brushed through Momo and her best friends, Lillian's, hair as they stood in front of the vending machine after they finished their volleyball practice, wondering what they should get.

"I think," Momo said, lifting one hand and putting it onto her chin in a thoughtful way, "I'm getting some milk bread."

Lillian snorted next to her, and Momo shifted her dark eyes to her to see that she was pulling money out of the pocket of her jersey. "No surprise here." She lightly shoved the taller girl out of the way and put the money into the vending machine. "If we wouldn't live together, I'd ask you if you ever eat anything else than milk bread. I know what you're gonna say and I'm paying this time - now shush!"

Momo closed her mouth and held back a sigh with a smile on her face, while watching Lillian press the buttons and then getting their food. She mumbled a quick 'thank you' when two milk breads were shoved into her arms.

"Isn't today the practice match?," Lillian wondered out loud when they began walking again. Her blue eyes met the blackish ones of her friend, before she continued. "I'm talking about the Karasuno versus Seijoh one that Coach Yamamoto mentioned..?"

"She did?" Momo raised one brow and quickly stuffed the milk breads into her pocket before looking around in fear of a certain someone appearing out of nowhere and stealing them. "I thought Yuu-"

The girls both turned their heads when they heard very familiar voices coming from the yard in front of the building and quickly walked into that direction, only to see their precious friends standing in front of a white colored bus with dark tinted windows.

"Like I said, don't worry about it," they heard Tanaka say and as they rounded one corner, they could see the male Karasuno volleyball team - with Kageyama kneeling on the ground near a bag and Hinata bowing down in front of Tanaka, while Tsukishima and Yamaguchi stood in front of the white bus they all obviously just exited. "Never mind me. Are you all right?"

"Yes. I rested a bit on the way here," Hinata answered the older one, standing back in a normal position and looking up at him. "I feel better now that I'm off the bus."

"All right, then." Tanaka turned around with a grin and his eyes instantly focused on the girls, his expression turning brighter than the freaking sun. "Oi, Momo-chan! Lil-chan!"

Momo wiggled her brows in her best friends direction. "Lil-chan, eh?" They quickly walked over to their friends, greeting them with smiles on their faces. "Hello!"

Hinatas eyes went comically wide. "Ehhh? What are you guys doing here?" If possible, his eyes went even wider when he really looked at them. "And what the heck are you guys wearing?"

"Huh?" Suga came out of the bus, a smile on his friendly face as he looked down at Hinata. "Ah, right you guys don't know. Lil-chan and Momo-chan are in Seijoh's female volleyball team!"

Lillian sweat dropped. "Eh, you're calling me 'Lil-chan', too?" She playfully glared at Momo when she giggled and then scratched the back of her hair. "I think I need to have a talk with Yuu about this."

Meanwhile, Hinata looked utterly confused and so did Kageyama, who stood up now again. "I think I heard of a similar situation before; where some people got scouted and played for a team while visiting another school."

"I think I need to go to the bathroom," Hinata mumbled and Tanaka let out a loud laugh.

"First the top, then the bottom! You're a busy guy!"

Kageyama glared after his teammate when he stumbled away. "There he goes again. How pathetic." He rolled up his sleeves and took an angry step forwards. "I'm gonna knock some sense into him."

It was funny to see how Suga literally jumped on top of the dark haired setter to keep him from doing exactly what he just said. "What are you thinking? That kind of thing won't work on Hinata."

Momo frowned and looked at her best friend, who looked right back at her. "Is it just me or does he mean it'd work on anyone, just not on Hinata?"

"Sounds like it."

After the guys finally finished their bickering, they made their way towards the gym - with the girls following them. They'd never miss out on any practice match, especially not on one that promised to be very entertaining.

The were almost at the gym when Tanaka suddenly jumped forward, peeking around the corner of the building with a funny look on his face. The rest of the group continued walking and Momo and Lillian waved when they recognized two players from the volleyball team standing there - Kindachi and Yahaba.

"Don't underestimate us too much," Tanaka said and tilted his face upwards, "or we'll eat you alive."

"How to be dramatic, written by Tanaka Ryūnosuke." Momo got a jab in the side from her best friend for that, but when she looked at the other girl she noticed the laugh she was holding back.

Kindachi and Yahaba both jumped while making 'eek!' sounds when Tsukishima chuckled. "You shouldn't say things like that, Tanaka-san. Look what you did. You scared these poor elites. Now I feel sorry for them."

"We're not intimidated," Kindachi disagreed and frowned at the Karasuno team.

"Oh, you're right." Tanaka smiled creepily and Momo and Lillian sweat dropped at that. "We should save our bullying for the match."

Suddenly, a wild Daichi appeared. No, not really - but he did kind of appear out of nowhere with a sour expression on his face. "You guys. I can't let you out of my sight!" He waked up to Tanaka, out a hand on his head and forced his head down into a bow. "We apologize. Tanaka, stop that look."

Kindachi fake coughed into his hand as the team began to start walking again and pointed at the girls with his finger. "And you two! What the heck are you guys doing with the enemy? I'm going to tell O-"

"Um?" Lillian looked at the guy like he lost his mind before shaking her head, making her black hair that was tied up swish to the side. "We go to Karasuno? And tell that idiot to suck it, thanks!"

With that, they ran after the guys and high fived while giggling like a pair of mad scientists.

When they finally arrived at the gym, Momo took Lillians hand and tried to squeeze her way through the guys. Standing behind Tsukishima, who wasn't even moving an inch (probably for his own amusement), she threw up her hands and Lillians. "For the love of everything that's holy, move your butt Tsukishima!"

The said boy only looked over his shoulder with a grin on his face. "Please?"

Lillian huffed and shoved him out of the way. "Thank you!"

The girls let the Karasuno team standing there, staring at the giant gym in awe and commenting on everything and started to approach the coaches of the male team.

Nobuteru and Sadayuki stopped talking about whatever evil thing they were plotting and looked at the females. "Uh, can we help you? I thought your practice ended like one hour ago?"

"It did!," Momo answered and pointed at her still wet hair. "We were wondering if you'd mind us watching the practice game with you?"

The coaches looked at each other, shrugged and looked at the two girls again. "Do whatever you want."

"Thanks!"

"We will now begin the practice match of Karasuno High School versus Aoba Johsai High School."

"Let's play!," the two teams shouted at each other, bowing down.

"Oi," Momo poked Lillian, who was furiously texting on her phone, and stared at her until she stopped. She nodded at the Karasuno team, chewing on her milk bread. "Look at Hinata; the poor guy looks like he's about to throw up."

"Let's hope that that won't happen." Lillian lazily looked at the Seijoh players and before grinning at her best friend, as the game started. "Look at Iwa-chan, tho! Is it just me or did his bara arms get even more toned?"

Momo still chewed on her milk bread when she looked at the said wing spiker's arms. "You think he'd tell me his secret on how the heck he got those arms?" The girl hold up two fingers in a victory sign, which she knew would get the dark haired player to roll his eyes, when he glanced at them. "You go, Hajime."

"If you could be quiet, that'd be great," Iwaizumi commented before turning away and jumping up to block Tanaka's spike. "How the heck are you the captain of your team."

Lillian almost threw a water bottle at her friends face when she choked on her milk bread. Momo took the bottle and quickly took a few sips before wiping away a fake tear. "I can't believe he said this, their captain ain't better."

Before they knew it, Aoba was leading with 24 - 13 and it was.. Hinatas time to serve.

Blowing a strand of dark hair out of her face, Lillian put away her phone. "Oh boy, I gotta see this."

"Finally done flirting with Yuu, eh?" Momo snorted when her friend blushed and looked forward again. "And don't even deny it! I know y'all are hot for each other!"

Hinata threw up the ball, his face as white as a sheet of paper, and somehow managed to hit the ball. Everyone watched as the ball flew and.. hit Kageyama in the back of his head.

The dark haired setter turned around with a murderous glint in his dark eyes and glared at the orange haired boy. Tanaka and Tsukishima immediately started to laugh and snort, making fun of Kageyama for being the getting hit - while Suga and Daichi tried to calm them down.

The whole gym watched as Hinata screamed when Kageyama started to walk towards the smaller boy, stopping in front of him and mumbling something before lifting a hand and hitting the back of his head with it.

Momo blinked. "Ehhh."

"I think Kageyama finally lost it," Lillian said as Kageyama continued to hit himself while talking to Hinata. "Sweet baby Jesus."

"Get back to normal, you jackass," Kageyama suddenly screamed at the orange haired boy who turned away for a second, before walking back to the net as if nothing happened. Hinata followed him after a moment, lining up with the rest of the time and bowing down.

Karasuno unfortunately lost the first set.

Momo took out her own phone as the teams gathered together to talk. She wiped away some unnecsassary notifications and scowled at her phone as she saw a message from-

"Oi." The girls looked up at Iwaizumi as he stopped in front of them, looking annoyed with the world. "So, I guess you finally changed your minds about getting a little help?"

"Whaaaaat?" Momo's dark eyes went wide as she looked up at the wing spiker. "I never said I didn't need help."

"As much as I hate to say this," Lillian mumbled from next to her, "but, correct me if I'm wrong, you did say something along those lines to Ayumi-chan last week. I mean, I know that I need some help."

Iwaizumi took a sip from his water bottle and raised his brows. "Yeah, that's what I heard too. I think, and it pains me to see it, that you could learn one or two things from that idiot. I'll look into helping you, Lil-chan."

"Thanks!" Lillian smiled and then frowned. "Hold up, where did that 'Lil-chan' come from?"

Momo snorted and grinned when the coach waved for Iwaizumi to get back so that they could start their second set. "And please let me know what workout you do, will you?"

"Shut up!"

It was only a little while later when Hinata and Kageyama used a quick and left Kindachi staring on the other side of the net, with his eyes squeezed together like a old man.

"Hinata is back in action," Kageyama said loudly as he turned to his teammates. "Time for a counterattack."

"You think we could manage something as freaky as that?," Lillian asked her friend as they followed the game with their eyes. "I mean, being freaky certainly isn't a big problem but as much as I love our team, I don't think that would work."

Momo pursed her lips and nodded after some seconds. Her best friend was right. While they had a team full of amazing players, something like that would be impossible. "Ehh, let us stay freaky for a while before we try something as risky as that. I think I'd get whiplash from setting that fast, if I'm being honest."

Before Lillian could say anything else, Tanaka spiked the ball and then pointed at Kindachi with a big grin. "How do you like me now, turnip-kun? I told you we'd get you in the match."

"Turnip-kun? That's a good one, we need to remember that for the next time we have shared practice."

Hinata looked a bit down as he walked back to his position. "I thought I was going to spike it, and said, "Oh, yeah?" I'm so embarrassed."

Momo put her hands up. "Chin up, Hinata!"

"That happens to the best of us!," Lillian added and they both waved at him when he looked over.

Kindachi whipped his head around. "Oi, aren't you supposed to be on our side? What the hell are you doing, cheering for those guys?"

"Oh, don't be like that," Momo answered and crossed her arms in front of her chest. "They are our friends too, y'know?"

It wasn't long before the Seijoh coaches called a timeout after Karasuno got the lead. The players got together, grabbing some towels and drinks.

".. I can't believe there's a spiker who can keep up with his tosses at all!" Kindachi looked confused as he lifted the bottle in his hand again to take a sip."

"Y'all did notice that Hinata isn't looking at the ball at all, didn't you?" Momo locked her phone screen and stood up, stretching, before sitting down again. "As much as I adore the Karasuno team, that's something I noticed right away."

"Haaah? What do you mean?" Now poor Kindachi looked even more confused, if that was even possible.

"It looks like Kageyama is pinpoint-tossing the ball directly where Hinata is swinging." Lillian yawned after she said this and the coach nodded.

He looked at every player while talking. "And that can only mean that number five has the ability to make that self-centered and prideful Kageyama do what he's been doing." He paused for a moment. "What's amazing is that he jumps believing in Kageyama to one hundret percent. He believes that's where the ball will come. If they get past your block receive solidly. Show your pride!"

"Yes!"

Nobuteru sat back down on the bench next to the girls and sighed.

Sadayuki held up his hand to block the words, so that the players wouldn't hear it, and quietly said, "Kageyama is amazing. It's shame we couldn't have him on our team. He did get invited, didn't he?"

"Jesus Christ, can you imagine what a mess that would've been?"

Momo nodded. Yeah, it was true. If Kageyama hadn't gone to Karasuno and to Seijoh instead, it would've been such a mess.

"Yeah," Nobuteru answered and looked up again, "but even if Kageyama had come to our team, that doesn't mean he would've played like that. Maybe Kageyama is how he is now because of Karasuno, and because of number five."

The game went on after that.

"Your tosses are too accurate," Tsukishima said to Kageyama after a while, staring down at his hand before glaring at the setter, "it gives me the creeps."

Lillian snorted. "That's me at you."

Momo looked at her best friend, "wait, WHAT?"

"I mean, you're an amazing player honestly," Lillian answered and rubbed the back of her head before removing her hair tie and allowing her dark hair to frame her face. "Do you know how happy I am that we're in the same team? I wouldn't want to go up against you."

For a moment, Momo twirled a strand of her silver hear around her finger before she started to grin. "I know what you mean, if you we're on another team, I'd probably start crying because of how good of a libero you are."

"Oh, stop it." Lillian jokingly lifted one hand and out it on her cheek. "You're making me blush."

Momo laughed as she took out her other milk bread and bit into it, right when Karasuno won the second set and the doors of the gym opened - followed by loud, high pitched screaming from some of the girls watching the game.

Nobuteru looked over his shoulder, "Oikawa, you're back."

Momo felt a tug on her ponytail before she and Lillian turned around and saw the devil himself standing there.

Oikawa Tooru.
