~Fairytale - Hinata Shoyo~

Hinata had been reading a ton of fairy tales to his 8-year-old daughter for a couple of hours now. It was finally time to end it and go to sleep, but the girl had too much energy to spare this evening.

"Come on, daddy! Please, please, please!" She pleaded.

Hinata's daughter looked up at him with her puppy eyes that he could never say no to. Biting his lip, the man hesitantly agreed, knowing you'd flip at him for letting your daughter stay up this late again.

"Yay~. The story I wanna hear is how you met your first love! I wanna hear how daddy met mommy!"

"My first love, huh...," Hinata said quietly. "Well, I fell in love for the first time when I saw in my first year of college."

And everyday she caught my eye

Dream about her every night ♪

A new student, (Last Name/First Name), had transferred to the college Hinata went to and she instantly caught his eye. He soon found out that the new student was with him in a few classes.

It wasn't long before Hinata found himself staring and taking glances at the new student during classes, or whenever they walked past each other, when he had the chance to.

Hinata realized that he probably had a crush on her. I mean, she had a cute smile that would make any guy's heart melt and she had a great sense of humor, her beauty was astounding, too.

Hinata wanted to confess to her, but it had only been about a week since the new student's transfer. It was too early and fast for him to be falling for her. They barely even knew each other.

So he waited until something happened.

Hinata's alarm went off and he immediately sat up, forgetting he was sleeping in the bottom bunk and hit his head on the top bunk. The boy groaned in pain as he clutched his head and got out of bed.

As soon as he stood up, his phone beeped. It was a text message. Hinata then walked towards it and flipped his phone open, reading the message as he continued to rub his head.

From: (Nickname)-chan

Good morning~! Just messaging since I'm wondering if you're free after school. I REALLY need help with something. I'll treat you out if you're able to help me with it, hehe ;3

"A message from (Nickname)-chan!" The orange haired boy's eyes sparkled as he quickly replied to your message.

From: (Nickname)-chan

Ah, wrong person! The message was meant for (Boy's Name)! Sorry for disturbing you, Shoyo!"

Hinata's heart immediately dropped to his stomach and his lips curved into a frown. The boy sighed and replied to you that you weren't really disturbing him.

"Shoyo," the said boy heard his roommate call from the top bunk as he stretched and yawned. "I've got plans after school. Just letting you know now, so you don't invite me to anything later."

"Yeah, you go have your fun," Hinata muttered and his roommate could sense a bit of sadness in his voice as the orange head walked to the bathroom.

Ever since you moved to the college, the principal had assigned (Boy's Name) to help and show you around the school, since you and him were mostly in the same classes together.

So during that one week you spent with (Boy's Name), the both of you became pretty close friends. He was a bit awkward at first, but eventually got comfortable around you.

You also met his friend, he was an energetic and loud guy. You found his personality cute, and maybe, just maybe, you felt that you had a tiny crush on him because of that.

What if she is taken? ♪

It was finally after school and Hinata packed his stuff up. He remembered that you and (Boy's Name) were going to meet up and let out a sigh.

He wondered if maybe you and him had something going on with each other that Hinata didn't know about. As the boy continued to think about it, he got a bit more jealous of his friend.

Maybe Hinata should confess to you, or maybe not? Is it too early, or is it too late?

"Thanks so much, (Boy's Name)!" You said happily, clapping your hands together. "I really hope it'll work."

Hinata was about to turn the corner until he heard your voice just around it. Slowly peeking from the corner, he saw you and (Boy's Name) talking to each other.

His eyes widened once he saw that you kissed him on the cheek and gave him a hug. Hinata nearly screamed in shock, but quickly cupped his hand over his mouth and ran off.

"It-It's really nothing, (First Name). I-I'm just helping a friend, y'know," the (Color) haired boy stuttered to reply, a red tint appeared on his cheeks as he looked down on the ground.

Hinata really wanted to confess to you, but he gave it a second thought as he noticed you and (Boy's Name) hanging out more often. Instead of getting jealous or 'getting in between' the both of you, Hinata would stay away.

If you or (Boy's Name) invited him to hang out with you two after school, Hinata would think of some lame excuse. But he didn't do that just to sulk about you two after, Hinata was actually thinking of how to confess to you.

Hinata really loves you, and he's certain about it now, so if he ended up quitting, it would mean that he never wanted it from the start. He can't quit just yet, he's not completely certain you and (Boy's Name) are dating, too.

A few days had past, and that was when Hinata noticed you and (Boy's Name) weren't hanging out as much anymore. He asked (Boy's Name) about it, but his reply was, "I'm just busy."

Busy for what exactly? There weren't any tests or exams coming up... Or maybe busy with family stuff? Eh, whatever. Hinata didn't question any further and took this the chance to hang out with you.

It was during break when Hinata found you sitting alone against a tree. You seemed to be playing a game on your device, you were so concentrated with it.

Slay a dragon just for you ♪

"(Nickname)-chaaaan!"

You looked up from your device, seeing the energetic boy rushing over to you. You greet him with a warm smile and a red tint formed on the boy's face.

"G-Good morning to you, too~! What'cha up to?"

"Ah, I'm just playing a game," you answered, your eyes fixed on the device.

Looking over your shoulder, Hinata asked, "Ooh, what do you have to do?"

"The princess, who was captured by a dragon, was flown to the top of a tower and, the prince, who I am playing as, has to try and save the princess as I get past all the obstacles to do so," you explained.

Hinata suddenly imagined you being the princess, and him being the prince. Him trying to save you from the dragon, who he imagined was (Boy's Name).

"I'm her prince and she's my princess... But wait, I have a feeling (Boy's Name) likes her, too– No, I shouldn't think this! But even he does, I liked her first! Or was it him...? Gah!"

The boy started rolling on the grass, pulling at his hair as he mumbled incoherently. You paused your game and stared at the orange haired boy weirdly, "Shoyo-kun...?"

"Nothing!" The boy immediately sat up and crossed his legs.

"Okay?" You showed an awkward smile and let out a small chuckle.

After that day, you and Hinata started hanging out more often, and the both of you got along so well. Hinata wondered if he should confess soon, he really wanted to get it off his chest.

But there times when he didn't want to. Sometimes you would ask how (Boy's Name) was doing. The both of you have seen him around school and you would always greet him cheerfully.

That made Hinata think that you were missing (Boy's Name), and not as a friend, but as a lover. He just wanted to give you a kiss and make you wake up from your so-called 'dream.'

Hinata was in his room and suddenly remembered the game you were playing. He started imagining stuff, a prince and princess would be king and queen and most likely they would marry each other.

"I wish it would happen one day... Wait, no, she doesn't like me that way! My rival is (Boy's Name)! Ah, why am I even thinking about this?!" The boy groaned in frustration and buried his face in his pillow.

The next day, when Hinata finally decided to confess to you while thinking about it overnight, he found out something that tore his heart apart.

The boy found you at your locker and greeted you with his usual cheerful good morning. He told you that he needed to tell you something important and grabbed your hand, leading you out the building.

"Yes?" You looked up at him.

"I...," he gulped. He wondered why he was so nervous. He was all riled up before, finally being able to let his feelings out.

"You...?"

"I... I like- No, I love you, (Nickname)-chan!" The boy said quickly, but you were able to understand him.

There was silence for a moment and Hinata got a bit impatient for your answer, but you finally spoke, "Shoyo-kun, I'm sorry, but I can't return your feelings. Even if I did, there was no way we could be together," you told him.

"Ah, I knew it... I mean, you like (Boy's Name) after all, I obviously had no cha-."

You cocked a brow and suddenly burst out laughing. Hinata started panicking, but the both of you eventually calmed down.

"No, no, I only see (Boy's Name) as a friend, Shoyo!"

"R-Really? But you always seemed that you liked him that way... I always see you hug him! And that one time where I saw you give him a kiss on the cheek!"

You chuckled, "Those hugs didn't mean anything, they were just friendly hugs. Like I said, (Boy's Name) was helping me with some things. The kiss, he confessed to me, but I rejected him and did that to make him feel better."

"Oh...," was all Hinata said. He felt relieved, but at the same time, he felt a little heartbroken. But it doesn't matter, he'll still find ways for you to fall in love with him and he promised you that.

"Shoyo... Look, I'm sorry, but we really can't be together. Last night, my dad told me my family's moving again, back to (Country), after this semester. I really don't like long distant relationship because of reasons. Just so you know though, I really like you, too, and (Boy's Name) was helping me get you jealous all this time. But I'm glad we have mutual feelings," you told him with a sort of sad smile and headed back into the building.

"And after that, I just stood there, feeling a bit empty and heartbroken. If I had confessed sooner, maybe things could've happened between us. After that (Last Name) moved and that was the last time I saw her," Hinata ended.

"What do you mean? You and mom obviously got married! We're all living happily together now!"

"That's true, but I met your mother after graduating from college. I never saw my first love again after she moved because maybe, we weren't meant to be together."

After Hinata had said that, the door swung open and his wife had a frown on her face, "It's past 9pm, Shoyo."

"Mommy!" Hinata's daughter jumped off the bed pulled her mother towards it. "It was so sad! Daddy told me the story about his first love and he never got to see her ever again! He was really, really, really heartbroken!"

"I'm alright now, (Daughter's Name). It's all in the past," Hinata smiled. "I'm blessed with a beautiful wife, a loving daughter and son on its way. I'm already happy with what I have now."

"Ooh! Okay! Someday, I wanna meet my true love!" Hinata's daughter giggled.

Hinata smiled, "I'm sure you will, and Daughter's Name), just remember that your first love, will most likely be your first heartbreak, so be patient and love will come to you," he told her and the child nodded in response happily.
