🐑 Kagehina 🐑
Errands
Hinata hummed a happy tune out loud as he turned a corner, nothing to bother him except the boy next to him who seemed to be getting more annoyed with each note. The sun was shining brightly, making their skin feel warm while the breeze blew threw their hair gently and carried the scent of all the delicious restaurants they passed while they walked.
"Hey Kageyama do you think after we are done we could buy some steamed pork buns after we are done?!"
The taller dark haired male let out a quiet groan though his stomach secretly jumped at the thought of yummy food. "Look dumbass don't think about food right now, lets just get the stuff done as fast as we can so we can get back and get some extra practice in. I still can't believe I got stuck with errands and babysitting you."
The red head rolled his eyes but didn't let the words take down his spirit, after all Daichi had personally asked for them to get the new volleyballs since everyone else was busy and it felt like huge honor. He was helping his team and getting one step closer to another match. "Come on Kage. Is it really that horrible to be around me?"
The dark haired male stopped for a second causing Hinata to stop too and look at him confused. He took a second to look the ginger up and down while thinking about all the time they had spent together perfecting their moves. If he had to say the truth he did in fact like spending time with the short boy, more than with anyone else, but that answer was far to embarrassing so he decided to not use it. "Yes. Now keep moving. I want to get this over with."
"Hey you were the one who stopped!" Hinata shouted, quickly realizing that he was getting left in his...friends? dust. He regrouped fast though and ran to catch up with the male who had in reality only gotten maybe four feet from him but it felt like a mile. "Wait up!"
Soon the two boys had picked up a large netted bag filled with all the volleyballs the team would use from now on, the colors matched their black orange uniforms and the new feeling made the small red head want Kageyama to toss him one right in the street so he could spike it. That of course didn't happen and instead they started the walk back where they would picked up some printing paper, whiteboard markers, and for some odd reason hair gel.
"That's everything right?" Hinata asked as he stepped out of the last store, two grocery bags in his hands. One held the listed items and the other held the food he had convinced the raven haired male to buy, even going so far as to say he would starve to death if they didn't get something.
"Yeah. Let's eat on the park bench, by the way don't ever pull that crap in a public area again. What if someone actually thought you were gonna die of starvation?"
The red head started laughing, his happy smile slightly warming the taller males heart as he blushed a little. "Kageyama-kun I don't think anyone would have actually believed me and besides it worked so I will totally do it again! You know you wanted the pork buns."
"...why did you add kun to my name?"
Both males paused for a second as Hinata tried to come up with a answer, his face turning bright red as he realized he had none. Why had he done that? "U-uh I actually don't know, it kinda just slipped out. I mean it sounds cute with your name...heh."
Raven haired males eyes stared his smaller companion down before he reluctantly let it go and took a seat on the left side of the small wooden bench. As soon as the other was sat next to him he opened the bag of food and divided it equally between them.
While he ate he watched in front of him where the sun was already starting to set after their long day, so much for extra practice...but for some reason he didn't feel upset especially when his eyes wandered to the person next to him.
Hinata was looking ahead too, but his face had the sun's colors on it, oranges and yellows that made his hair look almost like fire. His face itself looked cute with his eyes shimmering like he was really happy, not to mention the calming aura he was now giving off....it was like out of a movie.
"Hey Shoyo...thanks for trusting me...and...ugh thanks for being around me. It's nice...knowing I have someone now."
The gingers eyes widened as he snapped his attention to the boy next to him, his face yet again a bright red as he tried to wrap his head around what was just said and actually say something in return. "K-kageyama-"
"Don't. I just wanted to say that so you knew and now you do so we can stop talking."
"You called me Shoyo...and said something actually nice to me and you think I'm not gonna answer? That's not how I work. Kageyama-kun, because of you I'm able to play. Your basically my hero...that doesn't mean I won't beat you in a game some day though!"
"Ha. Like you ever could."
"I could to! Even if I can't beat you at volleyball there's something else I can win I'm sure of it!" Hinata paused realizing he had no actual idea of what he could win against the other male. A short person contest...but that would be just plain embarrassing.
"Fine prove it."
The two were quiet again with the only noise being the soft scraping of leaves as the wind blew. Then it was like something had shut off in the red heads brain, like he had lost any sense in him.
He pushed himself forward and tackled the taller male to the ground with their lips pressing together in a way that probably never should have happened. It only lasted a couple seconds but in that time he felt he'd won a award. "10. See I beat you at tackling."
Kageyama was completely blank not knowing how to react to what the male who was now sitting on top of him had just done. "I...I don't think that was exactly fair..."
"Was too...so...uh...you aren't like killing me so that's good. Did I make things awkward? Dang it I did didn't I! I-im sorry I don't know what came over me!" The red head stood up as fast as possible and started to apologise as many times as he could. What was he thinking just randomly kissing someone like that!
"I...can we try again?"
"W-wait what? You mean like the t-tackling?" Hinata looked at the dark haired male as he stood up with him and walked over. He instantly felt tiny when the taller male reached him. His heart was beating fast and harsh against his chest while his brain screamed at him for kissing another guy.
"No...here I'll try." The gingers breathe halted for a split second as Kageyama lifted his chin slightly and pulled him close. For the second time that day their lips touched in a kiss...this one lasting longer than the last as the taller males hands went to the smaller boys waist.
When they pulled away all the could do was stare at each other in awkward silence unsure what was next for them as teammates, possible friends, or even lovers. Their faces were darkly blushed and their pork buns had gotten cold.
"Kageyama-kun....what should we-"
"I don't know for once. I guess all we can do is see what happens with time...lets go. I'm sure Daichi is wondering what's taking so long and Sugawara is getting worried."
Hinata nodded and gathered their things without saying a word. His mind was filled with different scenarios that could play out in the near future and despite his best efforts, while they walked his eyes....kept landing on the taller male.
Would it be so bad if they got together?
The end!
