Bonus 2

For the first time ever, this is Rhys's POV again in Maine for Lilli and Zach's wedding.

Rhys laughed as Ainsley jumped in the pool with the sorority sister.

Terry shook his head. "Weddings are so much fun."

Little Lilli sat next to them. "Ainsley is having fun. I just met Olivia today; I like her."

Rhys turned to see prissy Violet frowning. "Don't look so disappointed. She's single." The mother hen in him was ready to emerge and defend his Ainsley.

"She doesn't have to be. Troy is available." Violet pointed across the patio to the big, drunk guy.

"Troy is a dick."

Terry looked at Rhys. "I was thinking pervert."

Little Lilli laughed, and Violet glared. Rhys smiled. "Do you know our bestie, Phoebe?"

Violet took in her outfit which from a fashion sense was adorable. "You're not from Boston."

Phoebe smiled. "Thankfully no. I'm the bride's sister."

"She's Ainsley's sister, so you have that in common."

"Oh! I know about you. It was your wedding. Lilli and Zach's first date. Horrible first date."

"What do you think would be better? My wedding was glamorous."

"Anything. Playing cribbage. Karaoke..."

"Little Lilli had the best proposal in the history of proposals."

Phoebe blushed. "No, I didn't."

"Mine was at a five-star restaurant. My ring was in the champagne glass." She flashed her rock.

"Lucky you didn't choke on it." Rhys smiled.

Phoebe coughed. "I'm glad you made the trip out of Boston. It means a lot to Lilli."

Violet asked, "Are you and Lilli close?"

Phoebe nodded. "We are. My husband and I love hanging out with Lilli and Zach. She picked a great guy. I couldn't ask for a better brother-in-law. What about you and Ainsley?'

"We have nothing in common. She does that." Violet pointed at the pool.

Phoebe frowned. "It's wedding fun."

"It's embarrassing."

"Have another drink. Relax." Phoebe looked up and smiled. "Victoria, sit. These are Lilli's close friends Rhys and Terry and this is..."

"Violet Sumner."

"Sumner as in Roche-Sumner. That's my husband's publisher."

"That's sweet. They support small talent."

Victoria coughed. "He's not small. He's talking with Oliver Sumner is that your husband."

"My brother-in-law."

James came over smiling. "Lilli is friends with some important authors. I just met Matthew Clark."

Phoebe said, "Victoria's husband."

Victoria held out her hand. "Victoria Clark, nice to meet you."

As James commented on her not being British, Violet looked like she swallowed an egg.

Rhys leaned over to Violet. "I read an article that she's really a countess."

Phoebe nodded. "Her mother-in-law is Wendy Clark, but they are so down to earth."

Violet stood. "I think I'll powder my nose."

No one heard her, because the crowd was egging on the couples in the pool. As Rhys looked around Zack's brother was frowning. Maybe he liked Ainsley? A girl could hope to catch a dreamy doctor.

This part is Ainsley's POV on the wedding day.

Ainsley smiled as she walked down the long aisle. Good thing she loved Lilli, because it felt like a mile. Violet's aisle was much shorter even though there were more guests. She had felt wobbly when she woke, but the mimosa with her greasy breakfast had taken care of it.

As the bridal party was getting ready, Phoebe said, "Your sister isn't much fun."

Ainsley rolled her eyes. "What did she say?"

"Before or after she insulted Victoria Clark."

"She didn't!" Ainsley had hung out with Lilli's friends. In her department, they put out the red carpet to promote Matthew's books. The jerk, Henry, had been assigned his newest one.

"It's okay. Victoria could see she's fake. Oh, sorry."

"No need. She is fake. JJ's okay though."

Lilli frowned. "Why did he pick her?"

Ainsley shrugged. "He must be a breast man." Both she and Violet cups overflowed.

Lilli said, "You should have gone to the dinner your mother had to set up JJ. Then me and Zach would have met sooner."

Ainsley laughed. "But it was so much fun watching you suffer. Plus, it's water under the bridge. Lill, you're getting married!" Ainsley gave a little bounce.

Lilli looked like her face might break. "I love you guys." She flung her arms around them.

Phoebe stepped back first. "No tears. You'll ruin your face."

Once the ceremony and pictures were over, Ainsley couldn't wait to get a drink. When they walked in, Terry held up a yellow drink. "First round is Olivia's signature lemon."

Rhys smiled, "Sorority sister is one with us now, through marriage."

Olivia laughed. "I lived at home through school, but our groom lived at my house too."

Rhys leaned in. "Do tell us stories."

Olivia shook her head. "Zach has always been a relationship man, but his brother is a different story."

"The hot doctor. You bitches should fight over him." Rhys held up his glass.

Terry laughed. "Babe, our Ainse is too busy going on awful dates. She wouldn't pick a good man if he lived next door."

Ainsley shook her head, but thought of the mystery guy. He hadn't been around for a few weeks. He probably moved or switched jobs.

Rhys leaned in and whispered. "Don't look now, but here she comes, Mrs. Sumner."

Ainsley rolled her eyes. "She insulted Matthew Clark's wife last night."

"Look there's little Lilli with her hubby. Come on, Terry."

Olivia looked at Ainsley. "They are fun and exhausting at the same time. What's with them and Lilli's sister?"

Ainsley laughed. "Country music. They like the same band."

Olivia shook her head. "I don't know any country bands."

"Don't tell them or they'll make you listen. Rhys is obsessed."

Olivia smiled. "I like Lilli's sister."

"More than mine."

Olivia slowly smiled. "She and JJ are a good pair. As a kid, I thought he was whiny. You and he would never work. I'm not sure who the right guy is for you, but he's out there."

Ainsley was about to ask Olivia about a guy for her, but it was time for the traditional toasts.

Ainsley felt nervous as she waited for Max to finish his tribute to his brother and welcome Lilli into the family. He teased about the weekend wedding date and the fainting. Max smiled. "Now you have your own wedding weekend."

When Ainsley stepped up to the microphone, she felt short. She cleared her throat. "I met Lilli on her first day at Roche-Sumner. The girl from Maine planned to commute by train every day, back to her ocean and fantastic coffee."

Everyone laughed. Zach shouted, "It's better than Starbucks and Dunkin."

"Instead, I saw something in her and adopted her as my second roommate. After years of drying her tears, I breathed a sigh of relief when she moved on to Dwyer Mitchell. Except on her first day, she came home infatuated with the tall agent. Things got out of control when Lilli became Zack's assistant. The Sumner Bros think their bet got this hopeless couple together. Zack was as afraid as Lilli, but I had connected with Zach on social media under completely false pretenses and convinced him to go after her. All the angst and tears led to today. To the couple who took forever to find each other and then kept it secret. You were truly created for each other. To Zach and Lilli."

After she hugged them, she sat down and Max gave her a thumbs up. Olivia leaned in. "We have a lot in common. I dealt with Zach's angst and tears every night."

Ainsley smiled. "Look at the beautiful couple. Our job is done."

Zach and Lilli took the dance floor. Ainsley wasn't into the fuss of weddings, but Lilli deserved to be a princess for one day. Max reached out to her and they joined the traditional dance.
