"Liam, No." I speak with much difficulty "don't do this to me." He pulls away and tears start to threaten me.

I turn around to face him, wrap my legs around his waist and hold his face. I look him in the eyes and it's filled with confusion and fear, which I'm not sure is real or not "You need to stop. PRETENDING." Tears fill my eyes, I can't believe I said that.

"You think I'm pretending?" His voice, laced with regret and fear.

"Yea-"

He cuts me off "Hey, I'm- I'm sorry. Evelyn. Everything I said the other day was a mistake. I have.... some things going on right now." huh. You bet. He holds my face and rests his forehead on mine. "But it didn't take me long to figure out that I can't. Live. Without you." He puts a strand of hair behind my ear.

I wrap my arms around his neck and rest my head over his shoulder. He pulls away and looks me in the eyes. "Why's there tears in your eyes? You're not leaving me right?"

Why is he doing this? Why can't he just say the truth instead. I look at him so intensely and still. Nothing! I sigh.

I stay there for a minute or so, my heart running as fast as it possibly can. He calls my name a few times but I don't respond "I need to leave, Liam. if you want me to be happy, don't come back."

I sigh and leave. He sits there not moving even a limb.

I wake up with a heart wrecking pain in my neck. I fell asleep on my study table. ugh.

I haven't been feeling very cheerful lately. For obvious reasons.

It's a weekend, Leo and Chloe are going to meet me at the Party. It's the town's 149th fall party. The theme is the 90s. I still wasn't very sure of what to wear.

I drag myself to the bathroom with a palm on my neck. Damn it. I take a long warm bubble bath with lavender flavoured essential oils. After finishing up I wrap my towel around and walk out of the bathroom, feeling all good and fresh.

I open the closet to look for an outfit, I finally select a white tank top with little pink floral designs and a lilac mini skirt. I brush my hair and put on a bandana handkerchief, after a little 90s make-up I hop my way downstairs.

Mum has left home early today, she's helping with the decoration in the town hall. I saw the breakfast on the table. I grab a few pancakes and scrambled eggs before leaving. Good thing that I did my breakfast, it's really difficult to get hold of anything good and tasty.

After a good 20 min of walking I reach the town hall. The field in front of it is beautifully decorated. I look around in amusement and appreciate the decoration. A few children were running around giggling among themselves.

Everyone looked so different yet pretty. I look around and find a lot of familiar faces. I see Chris and some of my other classmates. Jasper's helping out some of the guys with a table. He sees me and waves me a 'hi'.

I look around to find Chloe and Leo, but they're nowhere in sight. "Miss Bay." His familiar yet disgusting voice enters my ears from behind. "Where are your friends?" says Hyde while looking around "where's.... Leo?" He gives a creepy smile.

"You're truly shameless." I say tilting my head a little and not being able to stop the urge to just slap the shit outta this guy. "Don't you DARE think about any of my friends. Keep Leo and Chloe's name OUT of that filthy mouth."

And I leave, I walk straight out of his reach and go inside the town hall building. I try to find mum but she's nowhere in sight. I ask a few people around but no one saw her. That's strange, she told me last night that she'll be here the whole day.

I look around a little bit more and then suddenly hear my name being called out, "Leo! Hey!" I turn around to the direction of the voice and find Leo in his beautiful outfit. This guy has got some crazy fashion sense.

"You look so stunning!" I compliment him pointing out the obvious. "Where's Chloe?"

"I thought she's with you" says Leo, "Anyways did you see Austin? He was supposed to be here by now."

"Nope didn't see him either." We both look around in search of Chloe and the rest of the people. "They'll be here, let's go get a drink." I offer. We took off, while I was thinking I should tell Leo about Hyde.

Nope. not a good idea. We go around the food corner and find a bunch of sweets, donuts, marshmallows, drinks, croissants, strawberries, cherries and other fruits. We see Mayor Blake aka Chris's mom, talking to towns one of the biggest businessmen Mathew Walter aka Hazel's dad.

"Hey, you two enjoying yourselves?" We both turn towards the familiar voice and find Chris with a large piece of croissant in his mouth while he asks us the question. Chris is a nice guy, sweet, simple, a little weird but that's fine. We are all weird in unique ways.

"You look really cute Evelyn." he says with a small smile. "Where's Chloe?"

I smile back at him. "Thanks! And, uh about Chloe...." I look around, "I don't know." I give him a nervous smile.

Leo and I move around with a glass of apple beer, when I hear Chloe's voice from behind. We turn around as she approaches us. "Congrats you're early." mocks Leo, and I softly giggle.

"Fine! I know I'm late, now shut up. I've been reading this book and I fell asleep at 5:30 in the morning so.... " meaning that she slept through, we do have a lot in common.

We walk around for a while and finally find an empty bench. "Did you see Jasper?" I ask Chloe, as I met Jasper a few minutes ago.

"Nope." Chloe answers, looking around. "What's up with the Kade brothers."

"Austin was supposed to be here by now. Ugghh. This guy tests my patience."

"When's the parade gonna start." I try to change the subject. After almost 2 entire months every thing's looks pretty much normal. I don't wanna ruin it with my sob stories. Also maybe I'll cry so damn hard that all my makeup will wash away.

"They asked me to report at the back of the town hall by 2:30. I guess it'll start around 3 and the fireworks will be there by 6-6:30." Said Chloe she's always been very active in all of this. That's another thing similar to my mum.

"Hey there," a tall guy in black shirt, blue jeans with a black leather jacket, wavy hair and white shoes comes before us. "Aren't you guys looking all lovely?" He complements all three of us but while keeping his eyes on Chloe for a little too long.

He has a cute smile that reveals his pretty dimples. "Woh. Aren't you fine!" Leo compliments back. Well he is fine. He has buffed muscles and his shirt is tight enough to understand that there's a good set of abs beneath it.

Do these guys know him? Sure looks like that. Why don't I then? He chuckles looking at Leo and then moving his sight onto me "Did you see my brother?" He asks Chloe and Leo.

"Yeah he's over there." Leo stretches his hand in the direction of the field. Leo knows his brother as well? Who is this guy? He walks towards the field. I see him leave and finally turn towards Leo to ask.

"You guys know him?!" I furrow.

"You don't?" asks Chloe, looking all surprised. And I give her the blank face meaning 'why would I ask you if I knew' "that's Jasper's brother."

"Alright! Yeah I know he has one but I never met him though."

"Yeah, he's a drop out. Like he had to, after his father had a heart attack he dropped out of college. And he's been doing different things day and night ever since. He works at a construction site by day and looks after the shop in the evening."

Huh. No wonder he's got those freaking amazing bulges in his arms.

"Oh, speaking of brothers, there's my prince charming." says Leo in a little squeaking voice and standing up in excitement. We see Austin approaching. As a matter of fact he's looking good.

Austin looks at me and gives an awkward smile. I understand that smile, he must know what happened, well I didn't expect him not to. "Where's the other brother?" says Chloe and gives me a quick look.

I know that look, it means that she knows that something's up. I look away and try to think of something to change the

"He's probably still getting dressed, I knocked on his door when I was about to leave and he just said 'I have nothing to WEAR!'" says Austin and spares me the embarrassment, and chuckles nervously.

And I knew I should say something now or everyone will get suspicious "right! He becomes 'crazy pants' when it comes to the appropriate outfit." I knew Chloe would have her doubts, but guess I'll manage.

We all sit together talking about school, Austin starts telling us about this incident of their childhood and I couldn't stop myself from imagining a small Liam, my heart ached at the fact that I'm not gonna be able to hold that beautiful face and look into his cute brown eyes.

Chloe talks about how she kicked so many asses for protecting me. Just when the Mayor comes by looking for Chloe. "Chloe dear, you need to go to the green room. We'll start the parade a little early."

Chloe leaves unhappy, not willing to go away from all the fun we were having. I accompanied her to the green room. As much as she wants to participate in stuff like these and she is good at it, she always gets cold feet.

I kept rubbing her hands to calm her down, she's breathing fast and heavy as usual. And she releases a big sigh before turning in my direction "what are you not telling me? And why are you not telling me?"

"Chloe, that's not important right now," she gives me the mad-eyes. And before she could say anything the mayor came by again looking for Chloe.

"Chloe, get in and Evelyn could you do me a favour and find Jasper Scott and ask him to report to the men's changing room. He's the one escorting you right?" Mayor turns towards Chloe and confirms. Chloe nods.

I hold Chloe's hand and whisper "everything's fine. Promise me that you'll give your best out there." she sighs and shakes her head up and down, twice.

I come back to where we were sitting and find the tall leather jacket guy aka Jasper's brother standing there talking to Leo and Austin. They look slightly confused. Leo looks at me with his furrowed brows and stretches his hand out calling me.

I take quick steps to reach him. "Did you see Jasper, anywhere around?" asks Leo.

"Yeah I saw him when I came here, that was almost 2 hours ago. Why?"

"I can't find him," says the tall guy. I should really know his name. I look at him and he looks worried as well.

"It's okay.... We'll find him. What's the worry?"

"Isn't that obvious Evelyn." says Leo and I know why. I look over to Austin and the tall guy, who looks kinda mad.

"If that son of a bitch does anything to my little brother he's gonna get killed for sure." says jasper's brother.

"What's your name again?" I ask the tall angry guy.

"Daniel. Call me Dan." He replies in his tough and deep voice.

"Okay. Dan, Jasper's our friend-"

"Yeah and my brother." He cuts me off and says back quickly.

"I know. And we are all worried about him the same amount. And this is a public place, all the doors in the town hall are locked and the keys are with the sheriff there. Hyde won't get away if he tries to pull something off like that thing this time. "

"I don't think so. As far as I remember it was a fundraiser where the last incident took place. And I'm pretty sure that it wasn't any less crowded than it is today." What's with this guy?

"Guys please. Do this another time." says Leo and I see him almost having a nervous breakdown. "Maybe we should start searching for him."

We were about to leave for the search when the Mayor's assistant approached us, almost running "Evelyn, where's Jasper, didn't the Mayor ask you to send him to the green room."

Shit. I forgot that "I'll escort her" says Leo. "I don't wanna go anywhere near-" he cuts himself off. And walks away with the assistant towards the green room. We go in different directions to find Jasper.

I search in the washroom around the left side of the building, behind the little garden, in all of the green rooms. And I find him nowhere and now I'm starting to worry about the whole situation. I feel my phone buzzing in my purse.

"Evelyn what's going on? Where's Jasp-"

I cut her off. I was almost running around in my heels" Chloe calm the hell down. We'll manage it here, just give your best there." I hung up. I lean against a wall, and sigh. Where did he go all of a sudden.

Is Hyde not really over with his shit! Why Jasper this time? Jasper wasn't even there the last time.

*distant voices

I stay quiet, the voice, no voices are coming from the other side of the hallway. My heart starts pounding. I can clearly understand that it was a guy and a girl but their words were not clear, they were just on the edge of the turn in the hallway so I couldn't have moved any closer.

Even though they were not talking clearly they were kinda whispering, but I could tell that the guy suddenly said, 'No!' pretty aggressively. I tried really hard to listen to what they were saying but all I could hear was a bunch of whispering words in bits and pieces.

'Money' 'after' 'you' 'please'. Were the only words that were used a few times and were clear to me.

And baam! A sound like someone punched the wall really hard. I almost make a loud gasp. When I stop the sound by covering my mouth with my hand.
