Chapter 28: No Longer A Ruler

Ender's Pov:
I blink open my eyes and I instantly feel cold. I look around me to see that there is nothing. Wait, no, there is something. I see a dark sky above me, there are no clouds, no stars, not even the sun was present. Yet, the ground around me was brightly lit by fire-lit candles all around. "Do you miss this place?" Someone asked. I was startled but, I knew I had to keep my defense up. "I don't know who you are but, you better leave me alone or else, I will burn you until not even the ashes remain." I threatened, growling under my breath. "Oh but, honey! As Princess, you must look and act appropriately in front of your subjects!" The voice exclaimed, mockingly. "Subjects? Princess? I'm no longer Princess of The End." I responded, crossing my arms. "But, why? What made you leave this place? You could have earned so much power and could have ruled over the world so easily." The voice asked in an almost whiney tone. "Well...that's none of your business," I mumbled as I looked down. In all honesty, I don't even remember the reason why I left my home and my subjects. "Hm, I can sense that you are hiding something. Perhaps, a little scene might help you remember." The voice spoke as it forced me to look up. There I saw myself chained up with long flowing purple hair, a gray torn dress, and my wings kept me afloat. I looked in both confusion and fear, this place was both my home and a living hell. I looked over my peaceful land and subjects yet, they chained me up in fear of me attacking them. It wasn't fair. It never was. But, did they care? No. They only cared about what was beneficial to them.

"Hm, one reason you left, I see. But, how did you escape so easily?" The voice spoke. I continued to stare up, still curious about my reasoning behind my existence out in the open world. No chains to hold me back. No rules to prevent me. Nothing. I could do pretty much whatever I wanted. But, does that mean I was good during my times as a Ruler? I'm not so sure myself. What did I actually do to escape from those chains and be free in the world?

"Your Majesty!" A skeleton spoke and I could see myself open one of her eyes. "Yes?" She mumbled in a broken tone. "Someone is here to meet you well, actually two people are here to meet you." The skeleton explained. "Two? Well, I suppose you can send them in." I mumbled out as I let out a tiny shrug. The skeleton nodded quickly and ran back to get those two people. I heard myself let out a huge sigh and I pitied her. I can't help but, remember that loneliness and sadness I felt as I was chained up. That is until I met him.

Pink...wait, is this THAT day? "Close. But, not close enough. Just watch." The voice spoke, suddenly and I nodded. Why am I following orders from a bodyless entity? Perhaps, I am just desperate for answers at this point. "Endy! It's me, Pink Sheep!" Pink yelled out. Why is he being called "Pink Sheep"? "Pink Sheep! Guards, please, put me down slightly."  I ordered and the guards did as they were told. They lowered myself slightly onto the ground but, it wasn't close enough for the ground and my feet to touch.

"Need anything?" I asked, smiling slightly. Pink's presence was always my favorite, growing up with him. He made me feel less alone in this cold and dark place I once called "home". "Well, I have some great news, love!" Pink exclaimed then, he kissed my cheek softly. "We have a son! I named him "Purple Shep"!" Pink exclaimed and I blush intensely. Why is Purple being called that? I don't understand this world. "Oh, my son. Where is he?" I questioned, fiddling with my chains. Yet, I could see a small figure hiding behind Pink and I smiled, yes, it was my first son.

"Purple Shep!" I exclaimed, happily. "Mommy Endy Dragon!" The young Purple exclaimed. "I wish I could hug you but, I am restrained, unfortunately," I spoke. "But, I will give you head pats!" I exclaimed, patting the young boy's hair. "Well, you will soon. How about we try to escape from this place? It gives me the creeps and we need a place to raise our child." Pink suggested and my jaw dropped. It was THAT moment in my lifetime that I contemplate if it was the worst or best decision in my life.

"Well, that would sound nice. Where to?" I responded but, before he could respond. He got an ax he'll be using from my inventory and I nod. He raised it up and cut the chains clean off my wrists. "Okay, now, let's go!" She exclaimed as the three ran past guards and into the portal they went. Before, it was ultimately destroyed just like this vision as the dream turned black. "Now, wasn't that a nice trip down memory lane! I must say it takes a lot of courage to stand up for what you thought was right for yourself. So, let's see what you did for right and wrong." The voice explained, chuckling afterward.

Many images appeared, my first love life went and came. I was left alone with no child to care for until I met with Liz and Seth. I see myself putting a hoodie on and buying something. I see myself defending myself and Seth from a book. I see a party where everything goes wrong. I see problems being fixed behind closed doors. I see myself fall down a latter and I see ExplodingTNT's hand reach for me. Yet, it was too late as everything faded to black including my vision.

I'm sorry for being a bad ruler, my beloved son, husband, and home.
