Chapter 26: Do What You Need To Do
Zeph's Pov:
"Remember what you need to do, Zeph," Zero spoke, walking over to a platform. "I know what to do now, please, master, go do what you need to do," I replied, turning around slightly. "Of course, well, I'll do what I need to do now. Good luck, Zeph!" She exclaimed as she snapped her fingers. The platform rose toward the open space in the ceiling and soon enough, she left my floor. She's awfully cheerful ever since we captured Hexa perhaps that is a good thing. I opened the monitors to notice that they had just woken up with their hands against their heads as they groaned in pain. "They know, they can just teleport us to areas and not drop us," Violet whined as she was the first to get up. I chuckled slightly as I pressed a button to let me speak and show myself as a hologram. "Oh, and what is the fun in that, little Violet?" I replied, smirking with each word. Immediately, everyone went into their defense mode as they huddled around each other in a circle with their weapons out. "Must violence always be the answer?" I asked, annoyingly. They really don't know when to stop, do they? "Hmph, fine. We can't fight a hologram anyway." Liz replied, putting away her weapon and the others followed. "Where are we?" The words above ExplodingTNT's head asked. "Didn't you hear what Zero said before? You are in her 'trap and escape' rooms as she calls it." I responded. "So, what exactly do you want us to do? Do you want us to be like your little guinea pigs?" Pink asked, glaring directly toward me. "Somewhat, really. Must I really explain what can already be understood just from the name?" I replied, looking away from them.
"When you're speaking like you kinda have to especially for the 'children' as you guys call Purple and Seth." Ender mockingly spoke as she made air quotes. I grumbled lowly at her smart-ass remark, she really thinks highly of herself. Well, not for long. "I suppose SOME people need a refresher from that awfully impactful fall," I replied, annoyingly as I rolled my eyes. "These rooms are specially designed for you guys." I started as I pulled out my keyboard. I pressed in the code I needed to show the map. Once I brought it up, I managed to showcase it through the hologram.
"These rooms are long and complex. They are designed to test and challenge you. In situations like these, it's better to work together. At the final level, you'll get to meet me and we can battle once and for all." I explained, showcasing each detail of the rooms. I smirked softly as I removed the map of the rooms from the hologram. "Let me guess, you have something special in store for our battle with you," Daniel spoke, crossing his arms. "Oh, a smarty pants you are, Daniel! Correct, I do." I replied, chuckling afterward.
"If you win, I'll be more than happy to direct you toward Zero and save Hexa. But, if you lose, you will be trapped in these rooms. Isolated. Forever." I explained, my chuckling slowly turning into laughter. I could sense everyone's breathes hitch and some of them gasped softly as they heard that. "So, do we have a deal?" I asked as soon as I returned to my senses. Liz looked at the others for confirmation and the others slowly nodded. "Fine, do what you need to do." She replied, looking down. Oh, the fear in their eyes! It's almost too good to be true!
"Good because..." My finger dragged toward a button on the keyboard. "I lied, there was a change in plan!" I exclaimed as I quickly pressed the button. Instantly, wires sprang from the ground and tied around each of them. The floor slowly moved as walls began to come out from them and divide the floor into 8 lanes. I could sense their anxiety, fear, and nausea right through my camera. I love messing with them, their feelings are so intense and so worth it to see! My smile grew wider each minute as my hands went to my cheeks.
Once the ground stopped moving, the wires moved each of them into a lane. Well, Daniel and ExplodingTNT were put together in one lane while the others were isolated. Once the wires disappeared, everything stopped and time felt like it slowed down. "What the? What is?" Everyone kept repeating as they looked around frantically. Oh, look at them losing their minds so inticing. I looked over to see Daniel trying his best to soothe an anxiety-filled ExplodingTNT. My oh my, what great acting that mouse has. "Surprised? Scared? Oh, you should be!" I spoke.
"I lied, these rooms are designed to tell you the truth about yourselves! No more lying here." I exclaimed. "There is no time limit, I'll only be nice here. But, there are many challenges you must overcome. Once you make it through the lane, you will wait for the others in this dark waiting room. When everyone arrives, we will battle! The conditions still stand." I explained, bowing slightly. "Why did I trust you?" Liz asked, softly as she sighed. "Good question, Liz. Everyone knows not to trust the villains." I replied, looking quickly over at ExplodingTNT. He flinched softly and looked away quickly as soon as he noticed.
"I wish everyone good luck!" I exclaimed before turning off the hologram and speaker. I pulled up a chair and sat down as I leaned back in it. My fingers pressed a key on the keyboard that popped up many cameras and audio devices of the group. Each camera and audio device for each lane. It was almost like a front-row seat of the movie theater. I chuckled softly as I noticed how everyone panicked as soon as I left. Even Liz was panicking.
"Let the games begin..." I mumbled, smirking.
