Chapter 5- Celeste

Another night had past, and another morning has begun, after placing my toothbrush and toothpaste it in its plastic bag and into one of the drawers in my dresser. The usual morning routine of washing my face and brushing my teeth in the bathroom across the hall before changing my clothes and going to class has been turned into a rut in my life. I woke Yuki to prepare for class, which made him groan before heading towards his room to change. Once I finished washing my face and brushing my teeth, I walked into my room, closed the door behind me, and got changed after placing my toothbrush and toothpaste in its plastic bag and into one of the drawers in my dresser. I chose to wear black shoes and skinny jeans with a grey t-shirt. I took the key out of the right pocket of my pants before changing and placed it on the desk.

"Are you ready," Yuki asked after knocking on the door. I released a heavy sigh before taking the key from my desk, walking to open the door, and giving him a look that expressed my doubt in a sarcastic way.

"No, really, I'm not ready," I stated sarcastically while rolling my eyes. I then noticed what Yuki was wearing; he wore a navy-blue t-shirt with black pants and shoes with a silver chain around his neck.

"Yeah, okay, let's go Ms. Sarcasm," he said while smiling.

"I'm not always sarcastic," I stated while closing the door behind me and locking the door.

"Sure, and I don't skip class once a week," he stated with a smile while we began to walk down the brown colored hallways.

"I am serious, I'm not always sarcastic," I stated.

"Yes – you are sarcastic majority of the time," Yuki stated while smiling.

"You are annoying," I state while opening a light brown oak door to reveal a staircase consisting of several flights of stairs that were against the light brown walls; each flight of stairs increased in height as they signified the amount of years they attended the school.

"You love me anyways," he stated while I rolled my eyes. We climbed the one flight of stairs before opening a grey door; we hear our footsteps echo as we climb the stairs.

"Where do you even go when you skip class," I asked him while walking into a light grey hallway with six light brown doors on the right and left side; the door didn't make a sound when I opened the door, which is unusual when it is a door from this old building.

"Somewhere in the world," he stated with a smile while following behind me and closing the door behind him.

"Is that somewhere a local coffee shop," I asked him while walking down the halls.

"Maybe, maybe not," he stated with a smile, "I might be attending a university lectures to further my knowledge."

"I doubt that," I stated while entering the room behind the sixth door on the right side; the door is open, which means class hasn't started yet.

"Maybe, I might have an incurable disease," he stated playfully while entering the room behind me while I sat in my seat at the back of the classroom.

"You are a disease," I stated while smirking while he took the seat to my left. He did a dramatic gasp while placing his hands on his chest

"I'm insulted," he stated dramatically.

"No, you're not," I stated with a smile while he crossed his arms and smiled. Mrs. Genesis then walked into the room with an expressionless face while closing the door behind her.

"Today, as you all know, is the day you get your final projects," Mrs. Genesis stated with an emotionless face, "Your final project is to hack the fifty layers of encryption on this USB and create a code that can protect the encryption from the coding that you used to hack the encryption."

Mrs. Genesis walked around the room while placing a silver USB on the desk in front of each of us. She smirked at me and Yuki when she handed us our USB, which means she has something difficult for our assignment.

"This is an individual assignment," Mrs. Genesis stated while standing in front of the classroom, "I expect the USB in my office in one week."

Mrs. Genesis walked out of the room while leaving the door open, which means that class is over. It is a strange sign to say that class is over, but I find it amusing.

"Do you think that she made the project as difficult as she possibly could," Yuki asked me.

"I think she did," I stated while looking at my USB and smirking. If she wants to test our abilities, that means that we have extraordinary capabilities; however, that means we have to be more careful. If we are not cautious, we could vanish like the other missing students.

"We should head back to your room to analyze the contents of the USBs," Yuki stated while getting up from his seat.

"Didn't she say that we have to do the assignment individually," I asked in a monotone voice while smirking.

"We can just say we were individuals working beside each other," Yuki stated while smirking.

"Let's go then," I stated while getting up from my seat. We walked back to my dorm using the same path we took to get to our classroom. I took my key out of the right pocket of my pants and opened the door to my dorm.

"I'll be back in a couple minutes," Yuki stated while walking to his dorm. I left the door open for him while I walked towards my desk. I sat at my desk, in front of my laptop, and put the USB in one of the USB ports in my computer. I turned on my computer and patiently waited for the lock screen to appear.

"I'm back," Yuki stated while placing his laptop beside mine while sitting on the chair he brought into my room the night before; he made his laptop like I did, but his laptop is a silver-colored laptop.

The lock screen appeared on my laptop; a picture of my family with the time on the lower left corner in white font. I missed them; however, going to this school is supposed to be a benefit for them and for me.

"So, you do have a heart," Yuki stated while smirking.

"Whatever," I stated while looking at the screen.

"What are they like," Yuki asked me with a gentle smile on his face.

"My parents are strict, but fair, and always put high expectations on me," I stated with a stoic expression on my face, "However, they are also kind, caring, funny, and always concerned about my safety."

"So, why did you want to get into hacking and coding," he asked me.

"That is a long story," I stated with a stoic expression my face. I pressed the space bar to make the logon screen appear before typing my password into the computer. It's time to see what monstrosity Mrs. Genesis has given me.
