The day I got created.

A,N: And here is the next chapter. A completely put together extra chapter. There might be some things changed in this story in comparison to the original Vrains. Added in some stuff I believe happens in Den city. Who knows if they actually apply with the cannon? But if anything confuses you, feel free to ask in the comment section or private message me and will gladly explain it to you. Also timeline in the episodes is placed loosely in this story, so might not be placed in chronology order. Have fun reading.

Then a lot of things happened. Sol tech executors, Bishop, Rook and Knight all ordered Akira Zaizen to find Playmaker and take the ignis from him. Doing so he contacted a Brooker named Emma to find out about Playmaker and his real identity. She agreed as long as he paid her the right amount of cash. Afterwards he went to see The gore, one of the top duelists in real life at his training dojo at the harbor. Here he gave the Gore a proposal, added with a duel board no strings attached, and asked him to take Playmaker down and acquire his Ignis. The Gore first tuned him down, not wanting to be a businessman's flunky. Later however he found out Playmaker had stolen his biggest fans, Children from an orphanage where he donates most of his winnings too, and he reconsidered the offer. Akira and the Gore conduct a plan to take down Playmaker, by letting the Gore dress up as a knight of Hanoi to lure playmaker to them, which worked, and then trapped him and Playmaker in a duel Quantum cage so he couldn't log out. A heated duel commenced.

Crissy and Kolter followed the duel at the live stream two reporters, avatars a pigeon and a frog, were shooting inside link Vrains. All the children at the orphanage also followed this feed along with Akira and Sol tech. After a lot of back and forth, where the Gore stunted his former fans with his move, and Kolter installed a bypass for Playmaker to escape, which he refused. He was victorious by defeating the Gore with decode talker. The Gore was at first down because his lost, but when he logged out all his fans from the orphanage and his manager was there to cheer him up, so everything was good. At Kolter's truck, Kolter suggests that they should ally themselves with the gore in order to take down the knights of Hanoi, but Yusaku shuts down that idea since he doesn't want innocents to be part of his revenge. Just like he wants Crissy to stay out of this too. If he only knew...

Lastly, Ai the dark ignis had plans himself, by allying itself with Yusaku's cleaning robot Roboppi by promising to make it smarter. But in return, Roboppi has to become his minion. That was all for now. On with the story.

She was running. She was running as fast as she could through the darkened city with extremely fast steps. Or as fast as she could while piggybacking a 6-year-old child on her back. Not that it mattered, the adrenaline in her veins were pumping and made her do extraordinary things. That, and the paranoia was getting to her. They were after her! She had gone against their agreement and thereby betrayed them. They were after her or would be as soon as they realized her betrayal. It was only a matter of time.

Banging sounds could be heard as she desperately were hitting the door to a familiar known apartment. She didn't have any other places to go to. She couldn't go home in case they were looking for her. For them! The chances of being listened to was slim to none of course, but she had to try. This was the only place she could think off. The door got abruptly opened and an annoyed sleepy male entered.

"What?" he hissed annoyed "Do you know what time this is?! Who bangs on people's door in the middle of the night?".

Then he noticed the female with the kid at the doorstep.

"Please" she begged with pledging eyes "They are after me. I had nowhere else to go".

The male was scanning her with his eyes. No words were spoken between them. A grunt, who could almost resemble a sigh, came from him minutes later.

"Don't let me regret this!".

"What were you thinking woman?! They were strangers. Have I taught you nothing throughout life?".

A beer was handed to her before he began drinking the content of his own bottle.

"That strangers shouldn't be trusted one step over your own doorstep?".

"Exactly! You were very reckless".

"Says you, who just let me in".

"You are not a stranger".

"Says a guy I haven't seen in what a year?".

"8 months, but who is counting?".

The female giggled and were about to say 'you' but decided against it. Silence instead went between them, and the only thing they could hear was the faint breathing on the six-year-old sleeping on the couch in the bedroom.

"So, what's next?" he spoke.

"Excuse me?".

"Plans. What is your next move? I assume it wasn't dragging yourself and that girl with you through city just to stay at my place?".

"Well...".

"You got to be kidding me! You were actually thinking that? Are you insane?!" The male almost yelled "You can't just waltz in here and expect...".

"Let me stop you right there. I am not here for a place to live... well maybe for tonight... but I came here for another reason. I need your skills".

"My... my skills?" the male questioned confused.

"Yes. Please I beg you. Help us stay off the grid. Please" the woman begged and hid her face in her hands "This is all my fault. My fault. You hear!".

Then she was shaking him like crazy.

Kristina let out a terrible gasp as she rose up in bed. The dream vividly in her mind. Or maybe memory was a better word for it. It has been 10 years already, but that particular memory was still following her. Capturing her in between a dream and nightmare. Not that Kristina minded. This was barely anything in comparison to all the night terrors her sister Catherine was having. Not that she could help her. She was the last person on earth to help her come over the trauma from the lost incident. Her eyes flickered on the alarm clock at her nightstand. Showing 6'o clock in the morning. Kristina let out a sigh before stretching herself and getting out of bed. She didn't have time to dwell on the past anyway. A new day dawned, and she had a lot of work to do. Especially if she wanted to provide for her little sister. After getting herself ready in the bathroom, her long brown hair was tugged up in her usual ponytail, she got herself dressed in her work clothes. Her Sol tech uniform, being this charcoal suit and chosen yellow tie. Her look finished with this Cross necklace she had tied around her neck. She wasn't by any means religious, but both of their parents had been before they died. This necklace was the last thing given to her before their departure and were therefore kept on her as some sort of memento. Guess Crissy was not the only one carrying memories of their past.

Kristina continued on her daily routine starting the network and other electricized devices she always turned off doing the night. You know to spare the environment and such. That included the maid robot, who were also offline doing the night. Right now, it was left in its charging station inside the living room. Now that network was online, the maid robot beamed to life with happy emoji eyes.

"Good morning my lady. Was your sleep satisfactory?" the robot asked her.

"Yeah. Just fine. whatever" Kristina growled annoyed and said, "Just begin on the breakfast already". The maid bot beeped to confirm it accepted the order and began rolling over, stating on the food. Kristina in the meantime went to wake up her sister. As she did every single day.

"Crissy, rise and shine!" Kristina said in a firm tone and knocked on her sister's door. Only to find the room empty seconds later.

"What the...?" Kristina uttered and began recalling the events from yesterday. She remembered the fight they had and how... "Oh god...". Kristina rushed inside the living room with a horrified expression on her face.

"Missy where is Crissy?" she yelled. She just needed to get this confirmed.

"The young lady never returned miss" the robot chirped in responds "Lord Yusaku has also not been over to bring her back this time. Do you want me to call her?".

Kristina let out a frustrated scream as she frantically was looking around for her phone. Usually when they had fights, Yusaku ended up finding her and return her back home before the next morning. However, this time that apparently had not been the case which worried Kristina beyond belief. Her known wild imagination went off once again, imagining horrible scenarios that may or may not happen. Like what if she was attacked by a criminal? Or worse kidnapped by some kind of rapist before giving her back as ransom? The world could be a cruel, cruel place for a 16-year-old. Her friends and coworkers did say she was good at losing common sense in crisis situation such as this, and before she knew it Missy was holding up her phone. All to calm her down. Just a bit. She had already hit the call button for Crissy's number. Kristina was sending it a grateful smile before she was holding the phone and waiting for the video call to connect. It did, but...

"This is Crissy's phone. Can I help you?" a male voice said in a cold tone of voice. Kristina's eyes widened in surprise when she was staring at the blue/pinkish hair of Crissy's friend Yusaku. She had not expected him of all people to answer it.

"Yusaku? What are you...? Where is Crissy?!" Kristina demanded to know.

"Crissy is not available at the moment. Do you want me to leave a message?" Yusaku asked in the same cold tone. His green eyes were filled with rage, and it was clear he knew. Crissy must have told him.

"Cut the crap Yusaku! Where is my sister?!" Kristina sneered.

"Safe. From you and she stays that way!" He huffed back at her "She had a rough night. Thanks to you. I will not return her this time. Not after what you did".

"Why you little...!" Kristina growled annoyed "It was an accident okay. I didn't mean to hurt her. Just bring her home...".

"No. And I can give you three reasons for that" Yusaku growled back in a firm tone and were holding up his three fingers up on the screen "1. You hit her. Who knows when that will happen again? 2. Crissy is carrying enough baggage for her to overcome without you there to make it worse. And 3. You abuse her! Why in the world would I ever return her if this continues on, on daily basic?".

"I am not abusing her! It was a one-time thing! I will not do it again!" Kristina growled annoyed back. She was already regretting her actions without him being there tossing salt in the wound.

"Then apologize" Yusaku snort back as a reply "And promise to treat her better. I will not return her until you do. And I mean to her. In person. You know where I live. Until then this number will be blocked. Have a nice day".

And then he hanged up. Without warning. Kristina was staring speechless at the now silent phone. Did he just blackmail her? Forcing her to apologize? The nerve! Fine if he wants to provide for her. Be my guest. I have better things to do anyway. With his low payment parttime job there is no way he financially will be able to keep this up. They will be back... As the anger fumed out of Kristina, she let out a defeated sigh. They didn't know how many sacrifices she had made for them to be able to live the way they were now. None of them understood the pressure she was under...

"My lady?" Missy chirped confused, making Kristina return back to reality.

"Just go make some food. I am hungry. Crissy will not be joining us for quite some time" she then told the robot, who chirped and began making breakfast as instructed.

As soon as she was sure the robot was out of sight, she clicked on another number at her phone and this time was holding it up to her ear.

"It is me" she introduced herself with "We need alteration on our deal...". If Crissy only knew the truth.

"Yes of course. I understand completely. I will of course talk to him. Don't worry".

Kolter's voice rang reassuring through the Van. With the phone in his hand, he was having the smile of a service minded worker, but it was clear he didn't feel happy on the inside. The looks he was sending Yusaku, who was typing on the computer, was enough to know he wasn't. To be honest that reassured me more than it should. Yusaku could be such an overprotective dimwit. A sweet caring and good intentions dimwit, but a dimwit none the less. Was he trying to get himself arrested or what? I on the other hand was sitting on the same chair Kolter had given me last night. It was not exactly the best news waking up late in the morning to find out Yusaku had a little chat with my big sis. No matter how protective he tried being. This was a huge disaster for sure. With a deep sigh Kolter placed the phone on the desk and was looking at Yusaku with a very disapproved look.

"What?" Yusaku quirked and looked at him firm glare.

"You know exactly what Yusaku" Kolter huffed annoyed back at him "I told you not to confront Kristina about it until we had all the facts, and what do you do, the exact opposite. You tried to blackmail her!". I nodded in agreement to that and were holding up the sign saying, "Are you insane?".

"She was hurting Crissy and treating her poorly. What was I supposed to do?" Yusaku countered and shrugged "Crissy's wellbeing is more important".

"Yusaku, we are talking about a high ranked employee of Sol tech. Not the knights of Hanoi. You can't just attack one of their workers like that" Kolter sneered "Luckily, I cleared out some treads out. She will not charge you to the authority with blackmail, but I doubt she will send any financials our way unless Crissy returns home".

"No! We do not need her" Yusaku growled back "I will take care of Crissy".

That sentence actually had me jerk a little. This kind of moment kind of reminded me of a certain day in my past. The day I found out Yusaku was Playmaker and my avatar Asteria Witch got born:

Flashbacks:

I vividly remember. It had been months back. That day there had been arguing too. My sister had yelled at me, and I had hidden inside the network as Burglar Cat. However, what I hadn't known was the location I had popped up at. How should I have known the knights of Hanoi had roamed around causing mayhem for avatars. I of course got hunted down as well. I was forced to engage in a duel with them. At the last second my hero Playmaker had appeared and dueled them instead. At that time, I had no clue who he was, and neither had he. He had just been on a hunt for the knights, as Playmaker was known for. However, after the battle and he had disposed of the knight, I had asked him why he was doing this and... Playmaker had spoken his 3 reasons. It had been a dead giveaway really. However, at that time I decided not to call him out on it. People could be listening in on our conversation inside the network. Instead, I did it in the real world, where I was sure no one was around. Yusaku's reaction had been interesting. He had tried holding a poker face and tried to brush it off as nothing, but I had been quite insistent. With my signs and everything. In the end Yusaku had dragged me back inside the truck of Kolter's and huffed:

"She knows".

Kolter had been stating at me for a second, but then send me a little teasing smile.

"You don't say. Well, it was about time" he teased. "How did you find out?".

I showed him my written notes I had written beforehand, to explain the situation. How I had been Burglar Cat and how Playmaker had rescued me, stating his 3 reasonings, and deduced Yusaku was Playmaker. All which made Cal Kolter whistle impressed.

"This is quite some detective work" he said.

"No, it is not. She knows!" Yusaku said coldly.

"I know, but you wouldn't expose Yusaku's hidden identity, now would you Crissy?".

I of course instantly shook my head, making Yusaku sigh deeply.

I was holding up another sign that had Yusaku freeze for several seconds.

'May I join?'.

"No!" Yusaku then uttered firmly and began his reasons on how 1. It was too dangerous. 2. My dueling skills was not efficient enough to duel a knight and 3. He didn't want to put me in harms way.

I had just rolled my eyes at him. I had already known he would react that way. We had been friends for 6 years now. I knew Yusaku very well. It was for that reason I had come prepared. On a completely different page, I had ripped out from my notebook, I had written my own three reasonings. All in order to persuade him.

1. I had been in the lost incident too and I deserved my revenge to 2. I didn't have to duel but could gather information instead and 3. With another coworker we would be more efficient in finding the knights of Hanoi. Yusaku however...

Grabbed the piece of paper and curled it into a paper ball and tossed it over his shoulder. I was staring at him rather speechless.

"No" he repeated again. "You will not join us".

Anger rose in me and before I knew it, I had slapped Yusaku hard in the face since I couldn't talk and needed to express myself. He did however deserve it.

'Yusaku, you jerk!'.

That was at least what I tried saying with that fingerprint lingering on his cheek. With tears running down my cheeks, I of course exited the truck and ran away.

Time skip.

I was stumbling through the dark network. My cloak and hoodie camouflaging my avatar, so no one knew who I was. After the little display in the truck, I was ready to prove Yusaku wrong. But for that to work I had to find a Knight of Hanoi member and duel them. That however proved more difficult than expected. Apparently, they were good at hide and seek and only was encountered when they wanted. After continuously searches on the dark network without anything to show for it, I turned my frustration elsewhere. A bar in the virtual world of Link Vrains. All to drink my sorrow in virtual beer. My sister always had a beer herself in the real world, every time she was upset about something. It was not that often, but I wanted to taste one too. Not that I would be able to, considering it was virtual, but the concept was there. I was still drinking my sorrow away at the counter without actually having the drawback effect. My sister would kill me if I had been drinking in the real world. Not that I ever would, but still.

It was then my luck changed for the better.

A whole group of 4, lead by what looked like a high ranking, female entered the bar, making everyone look at them with surprise and horror written on their faces.

Dressed in a long shirt with golden sleeves, white pants, and a belt with white tow, so her outfit almost looked like a dress she was pretty beautiful. Over her knees black and golden armor pattern was placed. Just an armor plate in the same color was over her chest with golden shoulder pads. High heel shoes in black and golden colors finished her outfit along with the black mask covering her eyes. That clearly blocked people's ability to read her identity. Her long blond hair was placed in a ponytail. This was the most impressed made Avatar I had seen. It was no wonder the guys went gaga over her. Not that anyone tried anything since she was surrounded by 4 normal dressed knights of Hanoi.

"Is this really the best idea my dear lady Mary Marie? Master Varis said to be discrete about it" one of the knights said in a concerned tone.

"To heck with Varis. He wanted us to get things for our software. Fine I am getting him it" the lady Mary Marie stated with a snort "Who cares how I get it? It is not like we will install it without million security protocols anyway".

"I know, but sister...".

And that was all that poor knight wrote since Mary Marie with a flick of her wrist deleted the guy without any care whatsoever. Now there was only 3 knights left.

"I hate that word" I could hear her muse when she was at the counter of the bar, making the bartender hand her the latest software item she had ordered here from the black marked. No words were exchanged though and before I knew it, the group left.

Not that I was letting them get that far.

"Hey you!" I yelled after the group before they could depart to who knows where. My duel disk was raised and ready. "I challenge you to a duel".

Mary Marie and the crew of knights did stop up and turn towards with.

"A kid? You got to be kidding me" the female responded and waved with her hand at me "Take a hike kid. I am not interested in pip squeaks like you".

That make me of course frustrated once again. I was not a little kid here.

"Are you chicken?!" I yelled back at her in furry "Man up sister!".

That indeed did it. Mary Marie looked extremely pissed now. With quick steps she created data and numbers in her hand. It took me a second to realize this was a deletion code. This Mary Marie must be one skills hacker. I lifted my hands up in the air and blocked the code as it hit my avatar. I had a security code on my Avatar. Just in case. The only way to delete me was through a duel.

"Guess we will be dueling after all" I teased.

"Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you" Mary Marie responded in a cold tone.

The duel went well. At least in the first half. I was using my Madolche deck which was this earth archetype with different types of monsters. What they did have in common though was that all the monsters were related to French and Italian puns from desserts and the job the monsters were having. Unless they were beast types. Then the puns were taken from a dessert and the animal sound they made. I found this deck extremely cute. I have had this deck since... I don't remember actually. Not that it mattered really. To some it was weird though. Why was I using this archetype when I was dressed up as a cat, people would ask? Why not beast types? Mary Marie had been one of those people. My answer had been the same as I would give to everyone. That I did not follow the social norm. Why should I? Just because I dressed up as a cat, didn't mean I was only a beast type user. It was like saying etc. a girl couldn't be a mechanic because it was a boy thing. People can be so judgmental!

I had however summoned my "Madolche Mewfeuille" (500 att/def). When normal summoned I could special summon my strongest monster. At least if you don't could extra deck summon. My "Madolche Puddincess" which was a lv 5 monster with 1000 att and def points, but when there were no monsters in my grave it gained 800 att/def points. Add that up with my field spell "Madolche Chateau" who gave all Madolche monsters 500 points, my Puddincess att rose to 2300 att now. I attacked and destroyed one of Mary Marie's monsters. She was funny enough using a Twilightsworn/Lightsworn monsters, but I guess it fits her, since they are the dark counterpart of the Lightsworn archetype, and she was the bad guy. Even though that did confuse me quite a bit. Wouldn't she see herself as a good guy, being a knight and all? This was very weird.

"Why are you using this kind of duel disk?" Mary Marie then suddenly asked me and got me out of my daydreaming. My eyes wandered to the rainbow duel disk.

"It was a gift" I huffed annoyed. Who cares really?

The look Mary Marie was sending me had me lightly shiver inside. The glare she was sending me along with the annoyed growl. There was something familiar over it.

"I special summon my strongest monster now" Mary Marie sneered "Since I have 4 or more Lightsworn monsters in my grave, I can special summon 'Judgement dragon'". '

Horror was all over me now. Judgement dragon was a light attribute dragon effect monster with 3000 att and 2600 def points. Sure, the monsters att points was massive, but that had not worried me. What did was...

"I activate its effect. By giving up 1000 life points, I can destroy every other card on the field besides Judgement dragon" Mary Marie told me.

And that she did, which meant all my cards got destroyed. Sure, my Madolche was a recycle deck, so all my monsters got sent to the deck went ending up in the grave, because of their effect. Normally they would have returned to my hand because of my field spell, but since that was destroyed along with them, there was no way of getting them back. Worst case was I was wide open for an attack. 3000 points of damage was heading my way and if the attack succeeded, I was done for.

Ironically, Mary Marie was just standing there. She hadn't given any order for attack. Was she stalling for something? Or why was she hesitating?

"What are you waiting for? Finish it already!" I shouted at her.

"Are you really that eager to lose your avatar for good?" Mary Marie huffed back "Remember you will never be able to use it again. It costs a lot of money to generate a new one".

I just huffed back. Deep down I already knew that. As a first timer in link Vrains you were given an avatar to custom for free, but after that, you had to pay for new ones. That was why the fear for the knights of Hanoi came from. No one wanted to lose and have their avatar deleted.

"Burglar cat!" a voice then shouted and made me jump in surprise.

At a tall building was Playmaker standing and he didn't look happy. Before I knew it, he was standing beside me, glaring at Mary Marie.

"What is the meaning of this? Since when has the knights of Hanoi been bullying the innocent. Let her go!" Playmaker shouted. He sounded almost desperate.

"Hey, it is her own fault. I told her to beat it, but she wouldn't listen" Mary Marie huffed, but then she was smirking "That said, I don't have the time to have a battle with the famous Playmaker. Come on we are leaving!".

And just like that, she broke the connect in the duel and hightailed it out of here with her knights soon following suit.

"Are you out of your mind? I told you not to get involved!" Playmaker told me in his emotionless voice. It was clear he was worked up thou.

"I am sorry" I said back.

"Sorry? Do you know how close you were in getting your avatar deleted!".

Arms wrapped around me as he pulled me in for a hug.

"I was so worried" He then whispered, "Promise you won't do anything this reckless ever again". He was looking at me with the same concerned green eyes Yusaku was having. All which made nod.

"Log out" he then ordered "I still have business to do".

I nodded again and did as he ordered and logged out of link Vrains.

Time skip.

I was back home inside my own room and just laying lazy on my bed thinking. It was clear my actions earlier had raddled Yusaku. Alias Playmaker. Seeing me getting deleted was properly one of the reasons. Sure, it was only virtual. Not like I was dying in real life, but to someone like Yusaku who had been in the lost incident, where losing was equal in getting shocked, I could understand his fear.

To him, dueling was not a game, and losing was equal... something terrible.

I should have considered that before challenging a knight of Hanoi like that. The reason Yusaku didn't want me to get involved was in order to protect me!

That said, I wanted to protect him too. I wanted to help him get his revenge. Maybe it would help him move forward again. Just like I needed to.

"My lady. There is a phone call for you" Missy chirped, holding my phone I had left at the counter in the living room.

Puzzled, since no one barely called me on my phone beside my sister, I took the phone, finding Cal Kolter at the video phone.

"Hello Crissy" Kolter greeted with a wink. I made a question mark in the air now.

"Why am I calling?" Kolter asked and I nodded to confirm it. "Well, you gave Yusaku quite a heart attack when we saw you on a footage, dueling that Knight of Hanoi today. I am sure you understand why he doesn't want you to join us, right?".

I nodded to that as well. I felt really bad about that.

"It would help us all if you stopped logging in as Burglar cat for a while. Yusaku gets too distracted knowing you could be in danger. If The knights of Hanoi knew this, they would use you against him, to make him stand down, and that won't do, now, would it?" Kolter continued on with.

I nodded with a deep sigh. I knew this was the best solution. Yusaku's wellbeing as Playmaker was more important than my feelings.

"So, how about I create you a new avatar our dear Yusaku knows nothing about?" Kolter continued with a big grin, that had me stare at him in awe for seconds to come. I could hear Kolter grin now.

"What? You look like you seen a ghost" He teased me with, but soon after got serious "You deserve revenge against the knights of Hanoi just as much as we do. But let's face it, we both are terrible duelists in comparison to the knights. My help is more useful from the real world. That said, I would feel much better knowing Yusaku has a guardian angel, protecting him if something should ever go wrong. So, what do you say? Would Juliet protect Romeo for a change?".

I of course nodded eagerly, but at the same time concerns were building up. I drew a money sign on a paper to show him.

"Money? Now you are insulting me, Crissy. I am not an amazing hacker for nothing. I can sneak around the sol-tech stupid rule with a payment for a new avatar" He told me with a smirk "Just give me a long description and detailed list on your new avatar and give me it at the hotdog truck when you are done. Later".

And that was how Asteria Witch got born.

"How? Yusaku be reasonable. You and I are on a minor payrate. Sure, we can handle a couple of days, but we could be talking about months now" Kolter countered with a sneer at first, but then let out a big sigh "...She wants you to apologize".

That was the line that had me return back to reality. At first, I was not sure what was going on here, but figured it had something to do with their current argument. Yusaku being pissed at my sister. The look he was having at Kolter now, made me feel like I was a lion's lunch. That was how predatory that gaze Yusaku was having.

"Over my dead body" Yusaku got out in a very cold tone "She was the one doing the deed. She is the one who needs apologizing".

"I hear you man, but... you know how this city works. The rich dominate the city in comparison to us in the minor class" Kolter said with a sigh.

"I know our hierarchy Kolter" Yusaku huffed proudly.

"Do you? You just made war with her sister. One phone call with you kidnapping Crissy and it is jailtime for you" Kolter sneered "The knights of Hanoi inside the network is one thing. Sol tech is a different matter entirely".

Yusaku was about to come up with a snarky comeback when I had enough. I didn't want to hear any more of them arguing. I jolted forward and were soon standing in between them, holding my arms out in a straight line, which indeed made both of them silent. I was looking at Yusaku with pledging eyes, that had the wisteria haired male sigh deeply.

"Right. We shouldn't fight like this" he then said and tapped my head in reassurance "Let's take one day at a time. You can stay at my place as long as you need Crissy. I will figure something out financially. Don't worry".

He was sending me one of his rare smiles that had me melt. It was like he already had a solution Kolter, and I knew nothing about. All I knew was that I trusted him completely.

"Ah this is way too much drama for my taste" Kolter replied and rested back in his chair, and I couldn't agree more.

Normal p.o.v.

"You have some nerve making demands off me!".

That was the first thing Varis said when Mary Marie entered the server that late afternoon. All which made the blond-haired woman lift an eyebrow at that. Someone was in a bad mood.

"Wow that's how you greet the employee who is helping you and your father personally with capturing the Ignis" Mary Marie spoke back to him with confidence.

"If you had shown up last day, we might already have been in possession of the Ignis" Varis huffed back in a cold tone "I was in a hot pursuit when Playmaker and his lackies let their guard down, when they noticed and shot down their network. Had you been on your post we might have managed to trap them".

"Hmm I see. Well, that is unfortunate" Mary Marie just said and shrugged casually. "But someone broke the deal we made. I believe my absent is well deserved".

"Grr I was honoring our agreement, but your message came a second to late. I could not stop the actions from happening" Varis admitted with a sneer.

"And that was why I took a day off" Mary Marie stated in a sassy tone.

"Fine. How are things proceeding at your end? On the project you are doing with my father" Varis instead said as he changed the subject.

"We are making progress" Mary Marie answered "But, we still need more time".

"Humph. Thou I am confident that we will succeed in our mission time is the one thing we may not have" Varis hummed thoughtfully.

"Yes. I do agree" Mary Marie mused "Which is why I would like to offer my skills twice over so we can succeed". At that Varis was the one lifting eyebrows.

"Interesting. That is not exactly what expected when you wanted me to alter our deal" Varis then proclaimed, "Is there trouble in paradise?".

"All you need to know is that I am 75 percent committed to capture Playmaker and the Ignis" Mary Marie answered with. All which made Varis hum.

"That is 25 percent more that what we agreed on last time. Why is that? Or better yet, what does that mean for our agreement?" he then asked.

"Recent event has made it impossible for me to track her on my own. Meaning I want extra security. Here and in the real world. Unless of course you are backing out of our deal Varis" Mary Marie huffed.

"You know I am a man of my word" Varis replied instantly and turned his back to her "She will not end up in harms way or be targeted by my knights. However, in exchange you have to fulfill your end of the bargain Mary Marie. It is that simple".

"I know. And have I ever let you down?" the woman asked in a confident tone. Varis was about to say something when a certain alarm was beeping from his duel disk.

"I will see what I can do" Varis then promised "Now if you will excuse me, I have things to do".

Then he logged out, leaving Mary Marie alone on the server. She knew full well what that alarm meant. Varis was attending the machinery where his father was lying unconscious under a huge helmet that connected his brain to the virtual world. His father was a brilliant scientist, but his real body were no longer functioning correctly. It was a sad sight to behold.

Kristina woke up in the chair inside her own bedroom. Now that Crissy was no longer present, she might as well login from home. It was not like anyone could track her to here anyway. She was a brilliant hacker who worked at Sol tech, but who also was a double agent for the knights of Hanoi. The pressure she was under was unbelievable. Not to mention the secrets she had been keeping for her younger sister. Working for the people who caused Crissy her trauma just added to the stress and the guilt she is having. She had to protect Crissy. No matter the cause. Her hand went to the cross around her neck. It gave her the reassurance she needed. Even though she had sold her soul to the devil.

"Oh Crissy. If you only knew the truth" Kristina spoke out loud with a little sigh "Maybe, it is a good thing we are apart for a while. Just until everything is settled".

A,N: And that was that for now. Talk about things revealed in this chapter. Can't believe I am this far into the story. For real. But what do you readers think of the story so far? What do you all think of Crissy's big sister now? and the decks I have chosen for them lol. In the next chapter we are back to canon. The blue angel event is happening. So that is going to be interesting at least.
