Fallen angel.
AN: Hello dear readers. I am back with yet another chapter. So sorry for the wait you guys. I don't know what happened. Or well I do. I did not take well to criticism at first. I found out from an honest reader that my grammar was awful, which is true, but felt a little heartbroken that I suddenly have to fix everything. Alias every story I have or ever have written. Which was a little overwhelming. Luckily, I am back. Partly. Hope you like the story. Have fun reading.
Yusaku's p.o.v.
Yusaku had just logged in inside Link Vrains as Playmaker and was now checking the premises for that Knight of Hanoi.
"Are you certain that the knight of Hanoi you detected is here?", he asked the A.I.
"Yep. The signal is beeping within 50 meters", Ai clarified. Yusaku's eyes narrowed. That was extremely close by. If that was the case, then why could he not...
"There".
His gaze was surprisingly locked on Blue Angel who was standing on top of the little roof of this open area where you could etc. eat food in public without being bothered by heat or rain. Not that any of those things would happen, but Sol Tech wanted their users to feel secure. Why else would they build such places?
"No, wait that is blue angel", Yusaku concluded annoyed. She looked mad.
"It is about time you showed up", she sneered at him.
"Blue angel what are you doing here?", Yusaku asked her.
"What am I doing here? Um, you are the one who challenged me", Blue Angel stated.
"No, I didn't". Yusaku narrowed his eyes. Why would she think that?
"Um hello?! You most certainly did, You send me a message on my phone, saying 'now or never' remember", she clarified for him. That did indeed surprise him.
"No, I actually don't remember", he cut him off and turned to the only logical conclusion there was. "Ai, did you send her one?".
"Hmm maybe", the A.I. said which indicated that he had.
"Why would you do that?", he demanded to know.
"So, you can duel against a knight of Hanoi", was Ai's only response.
"But that is not one of the knights of Hanoi. That is Blue Angel".
"Or perhaps they are one and the same".
"Wait that can't be...".
"Oh, it can. I am getting a faint whiff of Hanoi permeating from her deck. PY".
"Why would Blue Angel work with the Knights of Hanoi?", Yusaku questioned.
"And what does PY stand for? It doesn't matter", Ai dismissed him.
"It matters if the knights of Hanoi are increasing their reach", Yusaku hissed.
"Yeah, that would be bad news for us. I mean for me. I don't care about you", Ai huffed. It was not hiding its true intentions one bit.
"Oh, how noble of you", Yusaku huffed right back at it.
That said, Ai did have a point. If he concentrated his link sense, he could sense there was something off with her deck. If Blue Angel was having a Knight of Hanoi card in her deck, that could not be anything good.
"Fine. Blue angel I accept your challenge", Yusaku then declared.
"Ahr, I can't even... you challenged me. You are the worst", Blue Angel hissed at him.
But in the end, they both agreed to this duel. The winds of a data storm were approaching, and soon both Playmaker and Blue Angel were on their duel board. Of course, to his annoyance the whole duel was being sent live, with the commentator doing his job, commenting on the whole ordeal. That means every person who followed the live feed post on their duel pads or disks could see this duel now. He should have considered that, considering that Blue Angel was a Celebrity duelist. Now, he couldn't stop it. He might as well deal with it and move on. Blue Angel was waving happily to all her fans who could be watching of course. She had an image to uphold.
"Thanks, guys. Best believe I won't let you down", Blue Angel said.
Blue Angel's p.o.v.
Blue Angel: 4000 Lp.
Playmaker: 4000 Lp.
Blue Angel let out a cheerful smile as she drew. After all, it would only be polite to let a lady start off this duel. It was not like Playmaker would or could complain. She started off her move by activating her field spell card "Trickstar Light Stage". Since it got activated, Blue Angel could add a Trickstar monster from her Deck to her hand. She chooses "Trickstar Lilybell".
"Trickstar Lilybell is never, ever, ever, ever, the wrong choice because her special effect lets me automatically summon her", Blue Angel explained and summoned the said monster.
It was having 800 att and 2000 def points. Everything was going the way Blue Angel had planned it. Just watch Akira. Once I defeat Playmaker, you will see I am not some helpless little girl. Next, she summoned her "Trickstar Candina" to the field. (1800 att/400 def)
"She has a special effect that you won't like Playmaker. I get to draw another Trickstar card from my deck", Blue Angel said.
She had chosen the trap "Trickstar Reincarnation". She continued: "Now, this card will be really useful for later, but what is useful now is my Trickstar Lycoris". Via its effect, Blue Angel was allowed to special summon "Lycoris" from her hand by returning a Trickstar monster she controls to her hand instead. She chose Candina. Not that it bothered Blue Angel, because she used her spell "Trickstar Vision" to summon Candina right back onto the field. The only drawback was that its att was halved and its effect negated. Also, Trickstar Vision allowed both Players to draw a card from their deck.
"So how about a thank you?", Blue Angel questioned with a smile, when both She and Playmaker drew a card. Playmaker were surprisingly silent throughout it all.
"No? Okay", Blue Angel said and shrugged casually. "That's all right because every time you get a card Lycoris deals you damage. 200 points at a time".
Or in other words, for every card added to Playmaker's hand for now, he was going to take 200 points of damage for each card. All thanks to her Lycoris. But that was not all, since a Trickstar monster inflicted damage, her field spell "Light stage" also dealt him 200 points of damage.
"All these Trickstars are great, but I haven't summoned the best one yet. Not until I link summon", Blue Angel proclaimed. "Yep, I will build the circuit that turns dreams into reality. I need at least two Trickstar monsters to link summon so I set Lilybell and Candina as Link arrows. Link the circuit. Now, I link summon 'Trickstar Holly Angel".
Out of the circuit, Blue Angel's ace monster appeared in the extra monster card zone. It was a Link 2 monster with 2000 att and Link arrows at these specific places. ↙↘. Blue Angel couldn't be prouder. It is just what I need to win without anyone's help. Her face turned to a screen where surely one of the reporters was filming live. Meaning, her brother might be watching the live feed right now.
"Before I end my turn, I place these two cards face down", Blue Angel stated and did just that. "Well, you are up Playmaker, but all you are doing is going down".
Yusaku's p.o.v.
Blue Angel: 4000 Lp.
Playmaker: 3600 Lp.
Yusaku hissed annoyed on the inside. Blue Angel had just finished the first turn, and he was already down on life points. That was not exactly the way he wanted this duel to go. That was for sure.
"Are you sure you are up for this Playmaker?" Ai quirked from the duel disk. "She summoned 3 monsters and deals you damage before you even drew your first card". Which only made Yusaku hiss again. Tell me something I don't know.
"It is my turn. I draw", Yusaku stated and did just that.
"Yep, you certainly did all right", Blue Angel commented. "And every single time you draw a card to your hand my Lycoris stings you with 200 points of damage. And Trickstar light stage follows that up with 200 more".
Yusaku hissed annoyed as his life points dropped down further. Down to 3200. It also did not help that Blue Angel's Holly Angel had a special effect. Each time a Trickstar dealt damage, Holly Angel gained those points in attack points until the end phase. (2000-2200)
"Just the act of drawing a card is busting you up", Ai commented.
"You are right. All her cards are working together seemingly. I can see why the Knights of Hanoi are interested in her. But that doesn't mean that she will win", Yusaku mused thoughtfully.
He started his turn by summoning his "Draconnet" to the field in att mode. (1400Att/1200Def) Since Draconnet was normal summoned, Playmaker could activate its effect which allowed him to special summon a level 2 or lower normal monster from his hand or deck in def mode. Like etc. his "Bitron". (200 att/2000 def)
"Now, it is my turn to Link summon", Yusaku proclaimed.
"I am sure it will be great," Ai remarked sarcastically.
"Watch this, I create the ultimate circuit", Yusaku said and did just that. "I require one monster to Link summon, so I set Bitron in the link arrow. Link the circuit. I link summon Link 1, 'Link spider'".
Out of the circuit appeared this spider who entered his extra monster card zone with 1000 att points and a link arrow pointing downwards. ↓. He activated his new monster's effect. It allowed him to special summon a level 4 or lower normal monster from his hand to the link point of his spider. He, therefore, summoned yet another Bitron. Now that he was having 2 monsters again, he could link summon for a second time. This time he needed 2 Cyberse monsters.
"I set Dragonet and Bitron in the link arrow. Link the circuit", Yusaku proclaimed "Now, I link summon Link 2 'Link bumper'".
Out of the circuit, right underneath the Link spider's arrow, had Link Bumper appeared. It has 2300 att points with link arrows at these specific places. ←↑. However, Yusaku was not done yet. Not by a long shot. He used Link Spider and his Link Bumper to link summon for a third time.
"Now, I require two effect monsters. Link the circuit. I link summon link 3 'Decode Talker'", he told Blue Angel.
She had been rather speechless ever since he had begun link summoning. Decode Talker was also his ace monster. With its 2300 att points as well as having 3 link arrows (↙↑↘) it was a force to be reconned with.
"Now attack. Destroy Trickstar Holly Angel", Yusaku ordered his monster to do, and Decode Talker of course complied.
"You really think that's going to work?", Blue Angel questioned with a cheeky grin. "I mean I love how you say that with so much conviction but...". Blue Angel activated one of her face-down cards. The trap "Trickstar Reincarnation".
"Trickstar Reincarnation banishes your entire hand, and you have to draw a card for every one you lose", Blue Angel continued explaining. "Four cards are gone, and four cards come back. By drawing those cards, you know the drill by now".
And Yusaku indeed did. Since he drew 4 new cards, Blue Angel's Lycoris would deal him 200 points of damage for each card. It meant he would take 800 points of damage. Not to mention Light Stage would add 200 additional points to that, so he lost 1000 life points in total. He was only having 2200 life points left.
"She really thinks she can chip away 200 at a time and win?", Ai questioned puzzled.
"Why not if it is working out?", Yusaku responded. He was more worried about Holly Angel. Since a Trickstar dealt damage, it gained 800 attack points, which in terms meant that it was stronger than his Decode Talker.
"Ah, Glitch! That means her angel is stronger than Decode talker. You really wiped out big-time Playmaker because TD is a goner", Ai finally realized.
It made Yusaku roll his eyes at it. Nice to know this A.I. was so slow in the uptake. Luckily, he had the quick play spell "Security Block" ready to help out. With this in play his monster would not be destroyed this turn, and neither player would take any damage. Or so he thought. Blue Angel had a trick up her sleeve.
"That's a nice spell card. Too bad though. You totally wasted it Playmaker", She stated and activated her other face-down card. It was the trap "Trickstar scatter".
She could activate this because a Trickstar monster battled this turn, allowing Blue Angel to destroy a monster on the field. She of course chose his Decode Talker.
"Um this not good. I was never not worried?", Ai quirked from the sideline.
"I am ready for whatever you can ditch out", Blue Angel stated confidently. "You see, this duel you know, is so much more than a game. It is my life. So, you won't break me".
Normal p.o.v.
Somewhere unknown on the secluded server of the knights of Hanoi, was the leader of the group Varis and his righthanded man Specter watching. After the attempts of infecting Blue Angel's deck, why would they not? It benefitted them to know it was shown on a live feed as well. Now, they could see Playmaker lose. Of course, no matter what the outcome, their plan was secure. Speaking of security...
"Everything is going as we predicted it would", Varis said and was having a smug look on his face.
"Indeed, it is, Master Varis", Specter complimented and bowed. "Mary Marie is also stationed if anything unexpected should happen".
"That unpredictable woman", Varis snorted. "She better not blow it this time".
"This duel is far from over. Thou you have destroyed my Decode Talker, that had allowed me to summon 'Salvagent Driver' from my hand in def mode", they could hear Playmaker say.
A monster driving on a yellow motorbike appeared. With its 2100 def points, Playmaker's life points were safe. For now. It also helped that Holly Angel's att dropped back to 2000 since this was the end phase. Varis was neither impressed nor disappointed by this duel. Playmaker knew how to duel, though he was of course not on Varis' level at all. It was Blue Angel's turn. She drew and Varis couldn't contain the smirk he was having. Blue Angel had drawn the card Specter had given her. It had an instant effect as the virus in that card began affecting her avatar.
"That naïve girl drew the card we gave to her. Once she plays it, she belongs to us", Varis said and chuckled darkly.
Asteria witch's P.o.v.
A bit earlier.
"Unreal! Playmaker just Link summoned three times in a row!", the commentator commented, "Your kitties kitty would be reading about this in the history books".
Which in reality had me roll my eyes at them. Of course, Playmaker would Link summon 3 times. If he didn't, he would not be the Playmaker we all know and love. That said, it, of course, had me hyped. Just like the rest of the world that was watching. It hadn't exactly been what I had expected when I logged inside Link Vrains earlier. I mean, who had expected Yusaku to suddenly duel Blue Angel? Especially, since he had declined her offer earlier. No, there must be something wrong here. Therefore, I hacked into Yusaku's duel disk. Or to be honest I had my A.I. Hoshi do it for me. It enabled me to listen to the whole conversation and just as I suspected something was up. What I could conclude from the wage conversation they had the knights of Hanoi had affected her deck somehow. I could sense something was amiss with my Link sense too, but to think the knights of Hanoi could sink this low had my blood boil. Of course, I wouldn't let it pass them, but still, it annoyed me. Blue Angel hadn't done anything to anyone. Besides, challenging Playmaker, which properly was the real reason here. Either they just wanted to draw out Playmaker with this, or they had something else up their sleeve. I just had to analyze everything and report back my findings to Kolter. If anything, unusual happened we could stop them dead in their tracks. Or so I thought.
"Well, well, well what do we have here? A little witchling. And here I thought I was the only one here. What a disappointment", a voice behind me suddenly said.
It had me jerking surprised. Right now, I was hiding on one of the rooftops inside Link Vrains. It was the best place to gain a view of this duel. I had even camouflaged myself. At first. Now, that disguise was coming down hard. Something, or in this case, someone, had broken my disguise. I turned around to face this newcomer. It was a female and not just any female, but the notorious freelance mercenary and duelist known as Ghost Girl. It was no wonder my disguise was taken down. Ghost Girl was known for being a great Hacker. On the dark web, I heard she could infiltrate anything. Or capture anyone and then sell her findings for profit. As long as she got paid, there wasn't anything she wasn't willing to do.
"You are Ghost girl!", I exclaimed and instantly prepared myself to face her.
"The one and only kid. Now scram before I decide to give you a permanent vacation from Link Vrains. You are ruining my scoop", she declared with a huff.
Luckily, I was not on her target list. Yet. I was both relieved and annoyed over this. Of course, I did not want to be one of her targets, but at the same time, it was annoying she thought so little of me. I was a Hacker and a Brooker too you know.
"Hey, it is a free world", I countered. "I am not filming or anything so go ahead and make your scoop. I won't stop you".
"Well, aren't you just the cutest little one Hon", Ghost girl replied to her. "But if you are not here to film Playmaker, what are you doing here?".
"I am just here to watch Blue Angel and Playmaker duel. There is no law against that", I remarked in a cold tone.
"Under a security camouflage. I do not think so", Ghost girl analyzed with a huff.
"Well, if you really want to know, I got a tip about the knights of Hanoi being present here. Something about that they are going to ruin this duel", I counted rather quickly. "If they can't see me, it is easier for me to ruin their scheme".
"Ah, I see. You have a vendetta against the knights of Hanoi too. That's why you are helping out Playmaker. So, he can take down the knight of Hanoi for you", Ghost Girl deducted. "You must be quite a failure as a duelist".
That had me smirking on the inside. Sure, I wasn't a Playmaker material duelist, but I wouldn't see myself as a failure either. Not that I was going to tell Ghost Girl that. It was easier to fool people if they thought I was incompetent.
"How do you know that?", I replied and pretended to look shocked.
"Oh, Hon, I am not a digital merc for nothing", she bragged. "I know pretty much anything about anyone inside Link Vrains. Don't take it personally. It is just an honest day's work".
That of course had me roll my eyes at her. Or at least inside I was. Talk about thinking too highly about themselves. I would probably have come up with a comeback, hadn't it been for this weird buzzing feeling that was running through me. My link sense was tinkling, and dread entered my core.
"Oh no they activated it!", I shouted and were scouting the area.
The Knights of Hanoi must be here somewhere. I had sensed an abnormality. That was until I realized where it was coming from. Blue Angel had just drawn the affected card. It was still a mystery how the knights of Hanoi managed to affect a card in her deck, but right now that didn't really matter. What mattered was how it would affect Blue Angel. But surprisingly Blue Angel shook it off. Sure, she looked out of it for a moment there, but she continued the duel like it was nothing.
"I have to get my head back in the game", she said and started off her move without playing the affected card.
Instead, she activated the "Trickstar reincarnation" effect from the graveyard. By banishing it she could revive a Trickstar from the grave. Like her "Trickstar Lilybell" for instance. She was of course summoned in att mode. (800 att/2000 def).
"Your silly scooter won't protect you because my Lilybell can attack you directly", Blue Angel proclaimed.
Her monster of course did just that and soon Playmaker's life points went down from 2200 to 1400. What was even worse was that Playmaker lost balance over his board and fell to who knows where. Even when Blue Angel's field spell dealt him 200 extra points of damage. (1400-1200 Lp)
"Playmaker!", I couldn't help myself yelling.
Different scenarios were popping up in my head. Most of them are thoughts on how to save him. I could easily bend the data or jump on my board to rescue him. The problem was that Ghost Girl was right there witnessing it. I did not want to reveal I was a hacker or a duelist at all. What to do? What to do?! Luckily, Playmaker was not done yet. He had managed to grab hold of one of the edges of a building and was hanging in there. Ironically, what helped him up on the board again was the ring I had granted him for emergencies. Or well Kolter was the one giving Playmaker it, but in reality, I had designed this. In case I was not around to help him out. I let out a relieved sigh.
"So, anything you want to tell me Hon?!", Ghost girl chimed and was looking at me with those analytical eyes.
"What?! Can't I be worried when my investments are pummeling to their deaths?!" I challenged. That only had Ghost Girl chuckle.
"Oh, sure thing love. That scream was clearly indicating that", she teased me with. She was surely hinting that she had put two and two together. Not that I cared. I was just so relieved that my Yusaku was all right.
Yusaku's p.o.v.
Yusaku could not believe his luck. This had been too close for comfort here. Luckily, he managed to plummet to his death by the skin of his teeth. That was impressive. At least in his eyes.
"You enjoy scaring me like that?", Ai complained from his duel disk.
"Kind of", was his only response. He had to get his head back in the duel.
"Well, it looks like you are still hanging in there. At least for now", Blue Angel said. "In that case...".
She continued on her move by activating Lilybell's effect. Since it dealt battle damage Blue Angel was allowed to add a "Trickstar" monster from her grave to her hand. Like her "Trickstar Candina". Then she ended her turn.
"I was sure for sure that she was going to play that Hanoi card", Ai commented.
"But she chooses not to. How interesting", Yusaku added in.
It was now his turn, so he drew. As he did, he did take 200 points of damage. Plus 200 more because of her field spell. Now Yusaku's life points were down to 800. It did not help that her Holly Angel was gaining 200 att points because of it.
"We cannot take much more of this", Ai wailed in distress.
Yusaku was agreeing, thou he was not wording it. His eyes were lingering on the cards in his hand. Knowing Blue Angel's damaging dealing deck now, he had to take every move into account. If not, he would lose, and if there was one thing, he could not do it was losing. The feeling of the jolts all around him. The fear that was creeping under his skin. No, he just had to win!
"Wow, she is wobbling! Her Hanoi card must be doing a number on her" Ai commented and made Yusaku return to reality.
As Ai had told him, Blue Angel was wobbling on her board. She was still having the affected card in her hand. Who knew how it was affecting her Avatar right now?
"I have to end this duel", Yusaku proclaimed.
Now he was more motivated to win than ever. If not for himself, then at least for Blue Angel's sake. He started his move by summoning the card "Defect Compiler" to the field in att mode. It was having 1000 att and an interesting effect, but that was not important right now. What was important was the monster's "Salvagent Driver" effect. By discarding a spell card from his hand, he was allowed to special summon a Cyberse monster from his graveyard. Like his link 2 "Link Bumper".
"Oh Playmaker, guess what, guess what, guess what?!", Ai annoyed him. "With these monsters and the fact that you have less than 1000 life points, now is the perfect moment to activate your skill. Ha, what would you be without my help?".
"What exactly do you think I was planning this entire time?", Yusaku bit him off.
"Ahr you are welcome!", Ai hissed back at him in annoyance.
Yusaku rushed forward making his board jump up in the air, so he could get passed Blue Angel and reach the cyclone of a Data storm a bit up ahead. Yusaku of course entered it and activated his skill right away. His hand grabs around the data bits and bites to gain control of the monster inside.
"Seize the wind, Playmaker!" Ai shouted as encouragement.
"Go storm access!", Yusaku shouted and of course managed to tame his new link monster. Soon it was added to his extra deck and the storm slowly died down. Just as they always did after acquiring a monster.
"I create the ultimate circuit!", Yusaku shouted and used his "Link Bumper" and "Salvagent Driver" to Link summon his new monster.
Since Link Bumper was a link 2 it counted as 2 monsters. Therefore, he could summon a Link 3 monster. Like his newly acquired "Encode Talker" to his extra monster card zone. Just like Decode Talker it was having 2300 att points and Link arrows in these places. ↑↓↘.
"Defect compiler attack Trickstar Lilybell!", Yusaku ordered.
To up his game he also activated the quick play spell "Frontline Disturbance" from his hand. With it, he could target a level 4 or lower monster Blue Angel controls. Like her Lilybell. When that monster leaves the field, it gains a disturbance counter on a face-up monster he controls. Like etc. his Encode Talker. Then when that monster battles, he can remove its counter, to decrease the att points of Blue Angel's Holly Angel. Or that was at least his plan. Blue Angel had other plans.
"Ahr this will wreck my Holly Angel", Blue Angel exclaimed. "I guess I have to activate my Skill". Yusaku was a bit surprised by that. He had not taken into account that she would have a skill.
"I activate the skill Trickstar Trick", she then told him. "By discarding a Trickstar from my hand, like my Candina, you are forced to keep drawing until you have 3 cards in your hand. Since your hand is empty you have to draw 3 new cards".
Or in translation, Yusaku was now forced to draw 3 cards, which triggered the effect of Trickstar Lycoris. He was forced to take 600 points of damage along with 200 more because of her field spell light stage. Which would be all he had left in life points.
"Playmaker, thanks for playing, but this duel is all mine", Blue Angel claimed. Yusaku was having a different opinion.
"Or so you believe", he stated. There was a reason he had his "Defect compiler" on the field after all. By activating its effect, he could put a Defect counter on that monster instead and thereby stop all her damage.
"What?! But I was so close to winning", Blue Angel exclaimed annoyed. "Well, I have no other options left than to...". A wave of dark energy ran throughout the field now. Yusaku could sense it with his link sense and knew full well what that meant.
"Her final card. The Hanoi one", Yusaku mused out in a cold tone.
"Oh? Oh!", Ai exclaimed fearfully.
Blue Angel's p.o.v.
A bit earlier.
Blue Angel was not sure what was going on here. Ever since she had drawn that card on her last turn, this had been difficult. Not only had she drawn a Trickstar monster she didn't know she had, but she was also unable to get rid of it. Or in other words, didn't want to get rid of it. She was not sure what was going on. There had been a wave... her head felt fuzzy and for some reason, she now believed she has had that Trickstar card forever in her deck. Even though her core instincts told her she hadn't. It did not help that she had trouble focusing. On the duel and her duel board entirely. She shook her head as she tried to focus. I don't know why, but I don't feel so good. But I just have to keep it together for a few more seconds. Thou that mental speech did not help one bit. It also did not help that Playmaker, while she was unfocused had used his skill and gotten himself a new link monster. As her A.I. in her duel disk explained, his life points were low enough to activate his skill.
"They were low enough? You are telling me he took damage on purpose so that he can use his skill? That means he tricked me. That is so totally not cool!", she hissed.
It also did not help that Playmaker managed to summon that new link monster he acquired. Things were not boding well for her.
"Winning this duel is slipping away from me. Even with all my best moves. Am I no match for Playmaker? Is he that good?" She questioned in disbelief.
It was for that reason she activated her skill. To stop Playmaker in his tracks while at the same time winning this duel. There was only one problem. Playmaker had thought that much ahead and had a counter for her skill. She didn't manage to damage him at all.
"What?! But I was so close to winning", Blue Angel exclaimed annoyed. "Well, I have no other options left than to...".
At just that moment the Trickstar monster called "Dark Angel" got her full attention. She literally could not take her eyes off it. Thou Blue Angel was fighting its influence like life depended on it.
"I have to win to show Akira... I have to win!", She exclaimed rather loud.
"Play the card, Blue Angel", a voice then ran through her head.
It was a male voice but besides that Blue Angel had no idea who this was. Did the Trickstar speak to her? It was encouraging her to play it. To use it. If she did, she would defeat Playmaker.
"Don't do it!", Playmaker shouted in the background, but it was to no avail.
"I discard 'Dark Angel' from my hand to activate its effect", Blue Angel said. As she did the dark energies of the card engulfed her and she let out a terrified scream.
Yusaku's p.o.v.
Yusaku hissed annoyed. This duel had now taken a turn for the worse. That was for sure. The scream Blue Angel emitted left no mistake in how much pain she was in. Whatever that card had done, it was nothing good.
"The card put her in a daze", Ai commented. Yusaku could not agree more.
"Yeah, this is bad news. The Hanoi have her", he claimed.
"Now, by tributing Lilybell. You are forced to attack a different monster", Blue Angel replied in an almost emotionless voice. "Yes, your defect compiler must attack my Holly Angel. A Holly angel that gains Lilybell's 800 att points which raises her to 3000".
Yusaku's eyes narrowed at that. So that was the effect of the Hanoi Angel card. She could tribute one of her fairy monsters and by sending Dark Angel to the grave she could change his attack to another monster. Like Holly Angel. Good thing he had come prepared.
"That may be, but my spell 'frontline disturbance' places a disturbance counter on my Encode Talker", Yusaku began explaining and placed the counter on his monster.
"How does that help?", Blue Angel questioned and in a fit of rage was glaring at him now. "Angel, annihilate defect compiler! End Playmaker! Go!".
"My Encode Talker would put a stop to this", Yusaku replied to her. "Monsters it is linked to can't be destroyed in the battle and I take no damage".
Not to mention that after the damage calculation his Encode Talker now also gained Holly Angel's att points. (2300 - 5300). Surprisingly, Blue Angel let out yet another terrified scream.
"If her mind gets wracked in this world, she might not wake up in the real world", Ai informed him. That did indeed worry Yusaku.
"Blue Angel!", he shouted. All to see if she would respond or at least figure out how much time he had to save her. By that scream she was emitting now, it seemed like he didn't have much time left.
"I remove the counter on Defect Compiler to raise Encode Talkers by 800", Yusaku instantly declared.
Encode Talker's att rose to 6100. Blue Angel let out yet another scream which forced pieces of her angel wings to get dissolved. It would not be long before her avatar was gone for good, and who knows what would happen to Skye in the real world. He had to act fast. He activated the "Frontline disturbance" counter he had placed on Encode Talker. By removing it Holly Angel loses att points equal to her Lycoris def points. That was 1200. Meaning Holly Angel was now only having 1800 attack points. That was enough to finish this duel in one shot. He made Encode Talker attack. He destroyed Holly Angel and reduced Blue Angel's life points to 0. Yusaku alias Playmaker had won this duel. All he could do was pray that Blue Angel alias Skye was going to be okay.
AN: And the end. For now, at least. Talk about leaving the audience wanting more. Who knows if Blue Angel is going to be all right?
