|1| The Beginning of Hell
TW: Mentions of Suicide, Unhealthy Coping Mechanisms and Self Harm.
Xisuma knew something was wrong. The way Gem flinched whenever someone touched her, the way her eyes always seemed to look for an escape route whenever she entered a room, or the way her fingers fidgeted with nothing but air. X had almost looked over this as just potential paranoia from a past server or general anxiety at seeing so many new faces.
Her builds were stunning, and the palettes of color brought more life to the server. Gem would build for hours upon end, making ginormous structures emerge seemingly in the blink of an eye. The hermits loved her personality and she was quickly a favorite among most. No one noticed her habits though. Perhaps they never would. The scratching, long, somewhat even overly hot showers, or the fact that the hermits were told not to contact her through 4 pm-5 pm. She always seemed to in up in the weirdest situations. From getting severely burnt by a blaze and ghast in the nether, to somehow getting clawed by some wolves. No one questioned it though.
Her base mates often blamed themselves. They should have noticed and should have helped Gem. But they were kept in the dark from this storm of pent-up emotion.
Pearl, the lovable alien who was rumored to get up at 5 am, often looks towards the sky. Her mind drifted through the memories. Gem would often hide a few things but all the hermits did. She would always make sure Gem's roofs stayed clean from any snowfall. She would often leave little mushrooms along the steps, they soon grew into giant mushrooms, each a different color.
Impulse, the redstone innovator dwarf, took to regularly cleaning McKenzie, Gem's robotic smiley face. He would often fix and polish any other redstone contraptions around Gem's base as well.
It was without a doubt saying that both remaining members of the Soup Group had developed harmful habits and needed to be checked in almost daily by another hermit.
Xisuma asked around to see if any of the hermits knew what server Gem came from. None did. He got an odd response from Pearl and False but he hadn't questioned it.
All of the hermits were grief-stricken. No hermit had ever done... this before.
And Xisuma was determined to understand why one of the seemingly happiest hermits had killed herself. He would work with the hermits closest to Gem first-the Soup Group definitely-and work his way out. Perhaps to 'King' Ren and his court.
Welcome to Habits. Enjoy your stay :)
