🖤Chapter One🖤
"Trouble one, trouble two, trouble three, trouble four, trouble five, trouble six, trouble seven, trouble eight, trouble nine, and trouble ten."
Logan Bishop found it weird the way the Phase Shifter worked.
It was sort of like Kitty Pryde from X-Men, Last Stand's powers.
Cool to look at, but weird to do.
Smokescreen had stashed him in an underground cave(?). Well, he thought it was a cave. It was hard to tell with the darkness and only his phone light as a guide.
Logan wasn't sure whether or not to trust the text message that Pan's phone had sent him. Because, according to Smokescreen, Pan was dead.
Which meant that Logan was slightly hesitant to trust Smokescreen, because the text said to trust the 'bot, and he was seriously torn between figuring out if he should trust Smokescreen or not.
The young(at least what Pan's text had said) Cybertronian stuck his head through the wall, "All clear?" He asked the human.
Logan gave the mech a thumbs up, holding his phone for light in his other hand, "Yep."
Smokescreen let out a sigh of relief, then proceeded to stuck his head back through the wall then return, half dragging another Cybertronian into the cave.
Logan's eyes widened at the sight of the frame of the great Prime. It was horrific.
Optimus's optics online enough for him to see the sight of Smokescreen looking at him, he managed to tilt his helm slightly and he could see Logan Bishop on the floor of the cave, his phone in hand as his eyes held concern. Concern for someone he had never met before.
"You're hurt, but you probably look way worse than you feel," Smokescreen rushed to reassure Optimus, the mech opened his intake, "No, don't move or talk. Just power down. Get your strength back."
Smokescreen looked at Logan, who seemed to have finally come to a decision whether or not to trust the mech, a nod from the human made Smokescreen grin, "We got you covered."
🖤
Everyone was scared.
Nilsa Queen tried to help reassure as many as she could, but even she gave up trying at some point.
Hermes refused to give up, "It'll get better. Helps on the way!"
Carlos just shook his head at him from beside Nilsa, "Doesn't know when to quit."
"It's a great trait, one you don't find very often," Nilsa said, frowning, "But not always good for when to know when to stop."
Her mind was still switching between being worried for Arcee and Team Prime, and being worried for Hana.
The artist had been collected by someone called Fowler the day before, Hana had at first refused to go until Fowler whispered something to her.
The woman's entire body language changed after that. She had then said she'd only go if Alik, the teenage boy who lived with her, could come with her.
Fowler had agreed instantly, and the pair were escorted into an SUV then driven away.
Nilsa hadn't heard back from them yet, but she figured that Hana and Alik were smart enough to get out of any situations they came across.
🖤
Hana's frown didn't leave her lips as she sat across from Fowler.
The laptop in front of the man holding the image of someone who she both missed dearly, and was currently pissed at.
Her home was destroyed because of his actions, and he acted like a king? Hana's hands unconsciously started digging into her crossed arms.
"A new power dominates your world. Any further attempts to attack me will be met with even greater force," Megatron's voice came from the speakers, "Your leaders should be advised that my fusion cannons possess enough firepower to decimate any densely populated area of my choosing. I would, in all likelihood, set sights on your nation's capital, for starters."
"Point taken," Fowler said, his eyes moving up to the woman sitting across from him before looking back at the screen, "Now, what do you want from us?"
Hana didn't miss the way he included her in his question. Even if Megatron couldn't see her.
"Nothing, Agent Fowler," Hana scoffed quietly, "The Decepticons mean no harm to humanity. We merely desire a place to call home."
Fowler quirked an eyebrow, "No offense, Megatron, but I'm having a tough time swallowing all this since you seem so bent on plastering humankind under molten steel."
Hana flinched at that, her face falling. She had been one of the few humans to see a different side of the now crazed warlord.
She didn't know this Megatron. She didn't fall in love with the Cybertronian on the screen in front of Fowler.
She didn't know this one.
"Agent Fowler," Megatron started, "I admit that war brings out the worst in me, but the conflict with the Autobots is now over, and our quarrel has never been with your kind. Now that the one, true enemy of the Decepticons is no more, my only wish is to coexist on this planet with the human race, peacefully. Together, Agent Fowler, I believe that you and I can make that dream a reality."
Fowler sighed rubbing his eyes tiredly as he shut the screen of the laptop.
"He's gone," Hana muttered, "I don't even recognize him anymore."
Fowler looked up at the art teacher, a sympathetic look across his face, "Ms. Smith-"
"Just call me Hana," Hana shook her head, breathing out a sigh, "Everyone does."
Fowler nodded, "Hana-" he started.
"Don't bother," Hana sighed, standing up from the chair, "You don't know the Megatron I knew."
The Smith woman then walked out, heading back to her and Alik's assigned rooms, leaving the Agent in the room before he too left, in a different direction.
🖤
"Scanning…."
The decepticon looked at the scanner as it beeped a negative, "Negative, no Autobot recognition."
Bumblebee turned off the road, and Raf jumped out, looking to the sky, "Clear," he said to his guardian, "Too close. But your paint job did the trick."
"The comm sub link is still down," Bumblebee told Raf with a sigh.
"The comm sub link is still down," Raf repeated, shaking his head slightly, "Bee, I realize Optimus sent us all to different locations to make us harder for the Cons to find, but if we don't know where in the world anyone else went, how are we gonna find them?"
"I don't know!" Bumblebee threw his servos up, "Maybe we just keep heading to Jasper?"
"Right," Raf nodded, his shoulders sagging with the weight of the world, "Just keep heading toward Jasper toward…" he gulped, "....Megatron's giant fortress."
🖤
Miko yawned, "I never knew there were so many rockies."
Her eyes looked around before landing on her cellphone, her eyes were bored as she flipped open her phone.
The home screen picture sprung up, and tears instantly swelled in her eyes.
The selfie she and Logan had taken on one of their first dates. Logan had finally felt confident enough not to enter a flashback to let her kiss him on the cheek.
She didn't know that Logan had taken the picture until she had opened her phone after she had gotten home.
Miko quickly wiped her eyes, moving to play one of her games. Her phone's beeping, alerting her guardian who skidded to a stop, throwing her to the side of his alt-mode.
"Miko! Whoa! No cellphone! You know the rules."
Miko rolled her eyes, "Dude, I wasn't calling anyone, just playing a video game I already downloaded."
"Sorry," Bulkhead apologized, "I guess I'm a little on edge."
"Where are we headed anyway, Bulk?" Miko asked, after popping her phone back into her pocket, "You got some sort of plan?"
"We're following standard Wrecker protocol," Bulkhead said simply.
Miko blinked, "Which is…?"
"An emergency plan we followed during the war in case any Wrecker got standard or separated from the unit," Bulkhead explained, "We'd always rendezvous at the exact same set of coordinates."
"If Jack is still alive, he'll be there."
🖤
Optimus groaned, instantly trying to get up as he powered up, only to find his systems overloading with pain.
"I-It's okay, Optimus," Smokescreen said, rushing to the Prime's side, "You're with me, Smokescreen."
"And Logan," Logan piped up, drawing both mech's attention, "Hi."
"How did I get here?" Optimus asked, looking around.
"When we were evacuating the base, just as the Cons opened fire," Smokescreen explained, it was my turn to ground bridge away, but I ended up in Jasper. Bumped into Logan who apparently came looking for me."
Logan gave Optimus a sheepish grin, his hands nervously twisting in his lap as he sat the distance away from the two Cybertronians.
"But I couldn't let you face Megatron's army alone. So, I snuck back with Logan," Smokescreen carried on, "But that's when the blast hit, and the whole joint came tumbling down. But I managed to pull you from the wreckage before the Cons dove in, using the Phase Shifter, which I managed to snag in all the confusion back on Cybertron."
Smokescreen's helm bowed forward in apologetic guilt, "I'm-I'm sorry I defied your orders," he said, "We're safe here, but we're down so deep, no one can pick up our signals. I'll have to scout above ground if I'm gonna have any hope of finding Ratchet-"
"No," Optimus said, making both young males look at him with wide optics/eyes, "No hope."
"What do you mean?" Logan asked, ""No hope"?"
Smokescreen protested, "The Doc's the only one who can get you patched up, Optimus."
🖤
"What if Jasper wasn't evacuated in time?" Jack worried, "She could have been hurt or taken by the Cons-"
"Jack-"
"And even if she did get out, she's got to be worried out of her mind not knowing where I am-" Jack was stopped by Arcee.
"Jack, calm down," she said firmly, "We'll get back to Jasper, find a way to reach your mother and the rest of the team."
…..
"Oh, one text couldn't hurt, could it?"
🖤
June's gasp made Alik and Fowler turn to look at the woman.
(Alik having been exploring the base in pure boredom when he was caught by the pair. If he hadn't left his room he probably would have tried to contact Jack out of desperation for some kind of news)
"Jack." June said, the name making her face lit up as did Alik's as he only just patiently waited for her to read the text, "With Arcee. Safe. Love you."
Alik's heart dropped slightly, nothing about him?
Then he realised how high-stress this situation must be from Jack's point of view. Alik barely touched the surface here in this stupid military base.
"Agent Fowler, Jack's alive!" June grinned happily for some sort of news on her son.
Agent Fowler smiled and nodded to the woman, neither noticing the crestfallen boy who stealthily sneaked away from them.
🖤
"Well? Did any of the surveillance data survive?" Nothing from the silent 'con.
"A shame," Starscream vented, "We might have at least learned the direction in which Arcee and the human fled."
Megatron sneered, "Clearly, we need to improve our methods of hunting Autobots and build upon the tactical advantage that we've managed to secure."
:[Lord Megatron, I am ready to return to Darkmount, and I'm certain you'll want to see what I've uncovered.]:
Megatron looked at Soundwave, "Soundwave, open a space-bridge portal."
"I find myself in urgent need of good news," Megatron gritted his denta, "So please, Knockout, tell me that you found something useful."
"Some things, my liege," Knockout said, before stepping aside, "And someone."
A great one opticed mech was revealed, walking through the space bridge, one of his experiments sitting on his shoulder pad, looking at the other Cybertronians curiously.
"He lives?" Starscream gulped nervously, his red optics wide with terror.
"Shockwave," Megatron grinned, his optics landing on the small robot on his shoulder for a second before looking back at the mech, "Just the tactical advantage I need."
Personification of Technology looked towards her father at the silver mech's odd laugh.
"This is Megatron?" P.O.T. asked.
"Your question is illogical," Shockwave responded making P.O.T. nod her head slightly.
She would follow whoever her father wanted her to follow.
Here's Chapter One!
Okay, yes, half of the episode wasn't included because it was mostly the same as the TV show.
(BTW: This chapter is over 2k in words).
Oooh, wonder what's happening in Pan and Ratchet's corner of the world?
And did anyone else notice how I accidently coloured my covers for my WaH/SwG/HE? series as traffic lights? Whoops.
Hope you enjoyed!
