Dear Diary,

It's been a few days since I last saw Fenton and Gyro. I miss them. A lot.

A tear falls on the page.

"You okay, kid?" Mark rolled his chair over and put his arm around (Y/n). She closed the book, and hugged him, her tears soaking into his shirt. Mark stiffened at her touch at first, but he hugged her back.

"You girls really are emotional..." he smirked softly. (Y/n) looked up at him.

"They probably hate me now..."

"Hey! I...I'm sure they don't hate you," Mark tried to comfort her.

"I'm a traitor to them."

"You're not a traitor! They falsely accused you of something, and when you were offered a new, better job, you had the sense enough to take it."

(Y/n) sighed in response. They both turned to face the door, as it opened. A young duckling wearing a purple jacket stepped into the room.

"Hi, Mr Beaks. I'm ready to start working again!" she smiled, then noticed (Y/n), "Oh, hi! I'm Vidia!"

"(Y/n)."

"Oh, then you must be the tech genius Mr. Beaks has told me so much about!" the young duckling exclaimed.

"Vidia, here, was my intern before you. Now, she works with my top guys, just like I hope to let you do one day, (Y/n)." Mark said, ruffling the girl's hair(?). She smirked at him, with a playful glare, and straightened her hair(?) back out. Mark said that Vidia could stay and help (Y/n), but the two ended up spending the whole day laughing and talking.

Later on that day, (Y/n) finished up her diary entry.

Dear Diary,

It's been a few days since I last saw Fenton and Gyro. I miss them. A lot.

But in other news, I made a new friend! Her name is Vidia. She was an intern for Mr. Beaks. Me and Vid talked all day today. We both love inventing!

Either way, I gotta go. Mom just said dinner's ready!

~(Y/n) Featherclaw <3

The girl closed her book and set it on her desk. She smiled as she ran down to dinner.

The next day, she went to Waddle, as usual. Upon entering, she was greeted by Brendon and the desk lady, whose name no one knew.

"Good morning!" (Y/n) waved as she walked past. When she entered Mark's office, she saw Mark sitting at his desk with the chair facing the wall.

"Um, Mr. Mark..." (Y/n) said, walking towards his desk. She spoke softly, not wanting to disturb him if he was doing something.

"Oh! (Y/n)!" he exclaimed, peeking around the chair, "Come here! I want to show you something!

(Y/n) swiftly walked over, excited to see what Mark had made. The parrot spun his chair around to reveal something that looked like a laser gun straight out of a sci-fi movie.

"What's that?" the young duckling questioned.

"It's a ray gun!" Mark exclaimed.

"W-wait. Is that just like the one I told you Dr. Gearloose was making?"

"Not exactly like his." Mark defended, "Mine looks way awesomer!"

(Y/n) glared at him.

"And it can shoot confetti, too!" Mark added, seeing (Y/n)'s disapproving look.

"Mr. Mark, you can't just steal other people's ideas."

"Yes, yes I can." Mark pouted. (Y/n) sighed.

"Mr. Beaks, I cannot work for someone who takes credit for things they didn't do or make." the young duckling said, sternly, "I'm sorry, but I can no longer intern under you. Goodbye."

And having said that, she left.

"(Y-Y/n)!" she heard as she stormed out. The duckling turned to see Brendon, a worried look on his face.

"Hey, Brendon." (Y/n) said, giving a small smile.

"W-where are you going?" the dog asked, "D-didn't you just get here?"

The girl's smile faded.

""Yeah. Mr. Beaks and I had a.....disagreement." she replied, "I'm sorry, but I won't be coming back." she said, then continued walking.

Suddenly, (Y/n) crashed into Vidia.

"Ah!" Vidia exclaimed. Her coffee had spilt on her as they both tumbled to the ground.

"Oh, I'm sorr-"

(Y/n) had been about to apologize, but stopped when she looked at Vidia. She stood up, looking down at Vidia.

"Are...are you...sparking...?"

Vidia looked down, fidgeting with her fingers. Sparks flew around her.

"...What are you?" (Y/n) asked quietly. There wasn't an answer.

"What are you?!" (Y/n) yelled. When there was once again no answer, the duckling stormed out, leaving the android on the ground.

As she walked home, she struggled to hold back tears. Soon she arrived at her house. Her mom was at work, so the house was silent as the girl walked to her room. Upon entering, she closed the door, put her back against the door, and slid down onto the floor, crying.

She sobbed for over an hour, then finally her tears slowed down, and she pulled out her phone.

"Hello?" answered a waspish voice.

(Y/n) took a deep breath. This was going to take a whole lot of humility.

"H-hi...Dr. Gearloose..."

"Featherclaw," he spat out, "What do you want?"

"Um...I-I..."

(Y/n) couldn't think of what to say.

"I'm...I'm sorry..."

"And I care, because?" was Gyro's response.

"Ugh! You should care!" (Y/n) raised her voice. She heard Gearloose start to talk again, but then heard Fenton say something in the background.

"...Fine." Gyro said, "You can come back, I guess. But don't expe-"

"PRIMA! YOU'RE COMING BACK!" Fenton presumably had cut Gyro off and grabbed the phone, "I'VE MISSED YOU SO MUCH!"

(Y/n) laughed.

"I've missed you too, Fenny..." she sighed.

Life was finally gonna be right again...
