Chapter 3 {Adventure Time! Part 2}
"Ah!" (Y/n) screamed as she ran for her life, dodging falling rocks-
Wait a second. Let's back up a bit, so you have a clue what's going on.
(Y/n) thought for a moment, "I'll do it."
"Very well, Lass," Mr. McDuck smiled a bit, "You'll need to be extremely careful about where you step, and remember to keep yourself balanced."
(Y/n) nodded, and began to tread lightly on the stone bridge. One webbed foot after another.
"You've got this!" the others cheered her on, quietly, as she went. One step. Another step. It seemed like forever, but in reality it was just a matter of minutes before she had made it to the other side.
(Y/n) crept up to the pedestal, reached out, dramatically, for the Zircon gem, and wrapped her fingers around it.
"Got it!" (Y/n) whisper-yelled. The others cheered, though not to loud, since the bridge was fragile.
"That's it, Lass!" Scrooge smiled. (Y/n) smiled back.
Now all that was left was the journey back across. Once again, she tip-toed carefully over the bridge. One step. Two steps. She had gotten a bit too relaxed by this point. Three steps. Four steps. The heel of her foot pushed a rock into a crack in the bridge, causing the bridge to start to crumble under her webbed feet. Everyone gasped. Her steps became a lot quicker.
"Grab on!" Scrooge said, sticking his cane out towards her. She grabbed on just as the stone crumbled out from underneath her.
"That was scary..." (Y/n) panted, still in shock. There was a loud rumble as the rocks hit the ground far below them.
"That was a close one." Dewey commented, and Huey stepped over to (Y/n).
"Are you okay?" he asked, worriedly. Another loud rumbling sounded. This time it was not from below, but from above. They all looked up and saw rocks falling towards them.
"Come on, kids!" said Scrooge, as he tugged on Dewey and Webby's arms. They started off in the direction they had come from.
"Ah!" (Y/n) screamed as she ran for her life, dodging falling rocks. They sped through the tunnels, as the cave collapsed in on itself. Soon they had reached the end of the tunnel. Thankfully, the Sunchaser was right outside with it's long ladder dropped down. Scrooge had called Launchpad, as soon as (Y/n) had grabbed the gem, and told him to be ready. Everyone clambered up the ladder. (Y/n) looked behind her and saw the mountain collapse. Woah. Then they were on their way back to Duckburg.

"How was it? Exciting?" Fenton asked when (Y/n) and Scrooge entered the lab.
"It was awesome!" the young duckling exclaimed, "I even got to keep this!" she continued, revealing the shiny Zircon gem.
"I figured she deserved it, after that great performance." Scrooge smirked at the girl, "Just don't tell the others."
(Y/n) chuckled and nodded her head.
"I'll definitely need someone as skillful as you on other missions, if you'd like to help, Lass."
"Yes, sir! Of course!"
"Well, I've got to get back to boring business meetings. Take good care of that gem, lass."
(Y/n) nodded her head, smiling.
"Goodbye, Mr. McDuck!" both Fenton and (Y/n) chorused. And with that, Scrooge exited the room through the elevator.
(Y/n) ran over to her make-shift desk, and placed the gem on it, carefully. Her desk was merely a small table and a chair. It wasn't much, but she didn't complain. Fenton had told her that once, his "office" was in the bathroom.
"Wow. He must really trust you," (Y/n) heard from behind her. She turned her head and saw Dr. Gearloose looking at the gem. He lifted his eyes to the young duck, and- wait, was that a smile? It was, though not quite a full one, but it still counted. (Y/n) had rarely seen him smile in her week of interning. Or, more like, (Y/n) had rarely seen him smile at people when he wasn't talking about science and inventing. He often tried to make it seem like he didn't really care about (Y/n) and Fenton, but (Y/n) saw through it. She knew he cared a lot for both of them.
Clop, clop, clop.
(Y/n) felt her heart stop. Gyro turned around to see what she was looking at.
"Oh yeah. (Y/n), I'd like to introduce you to someone." he gestured to the being in front of (Y/n), "This is Manny."
(A/n: Yes! I wrote a full adventure! XD Sorry for being so late on this...... I'm a really bad procrastinator...)
