I would sit on my threshhold,

With a spark in my eyes.

Gazing the fluttering flowers,

Watching the birds fly.

Amusing others with my musings

Ranting my tales of glee.

Smiling and rejoicing forever,

Inducing my kith and kin with plea.

Nothing could make me anxious,

Nothing could turm me despondent.

Nothing could enrage me to extreme,

My gaiety and zest were constant.

I would see happiness in little things,

I would yearn for petty possessions.

My world was my pals and family,

My playthings were my utmost obsessions.

Now I have all the world's convenience,

Still I feel I have nothing to treasure.

Now I have a throng around me,

Still nothing could give me pleasure.

How I wish I could turn back the time,

And be a joyous child once again!

And could live those magical days forever,
