movie reviews part two
no spoiler movie review for spider-man homecoming.
rating-
8.9999999999/10. it was really good, like hella good. but. its not exactly a nine for me, but comes really close.
characters-
okay. firstly, you cannot look at these gifs without finding peter really adorable to begin with
he absolutely kills the role as a believable peter parker. he balances awkwardness, humor, and nerdness very well.
unlike the first two spider-man's. the amazing spider-man was too cool for school to be an awkward peter and the first spider man was too serious. also they were close to being 30, so they weren't believable teenagers.
hooray for spider-man
being an actual teen!
peter parker is only fifteen guys. and he needs to act like it.
just know tom holland was an awesome spider-man. i can go for hours about this
so, ned.
let me say, absolutely adorable as well. he is hilarious and works great with peter. haha, i loved his character.
michelle was cool. nothing to die for, but not trashy either.
liz i hated. period.
the vulture was one of the best villains in awhile.
aunt may is aunt may™
tony stark is great as always, haha.
action-
the action was honestly nothing H U G E like giant aliens crashing on earth and doing deadly shit. it was much more lowkey, and i liked it for that. it's your friendly neighborhood spider-man, not some hardcore avenger. he isn't going to swoop into space in a starter movie like this. i appreciated it.
but i was kinda salty that the trailers spoiled practically all the action so everything was expected
villain-
michael keaton played the villain, so it had to be amazing and shit dude it was. the villain was awesome. not only badass, but relatable. he isn't over the top, not some lord from the universes, but a man who cares for his family.
he only does the shit he does to earn money, for his family. because he feels
upset as someone who cleans the streets after the avengers did huge amounts of city damage, and gets no appreciation. people just take his job without batting an eye, and he could lose everything over it.
he becomes a villain because he feels so weak. beneath the rich and powerful, and how he gets fed shit even after working so hard when the ones swimming in money do absolutely nothing and get everything they desire.
he's an average joe, who wants to feel important and i admire that.
he isn't
"iM SO ALEIN KING WHO'S TRIGGERED AND IN THE MOOD TO EXPLODE EARTH MUWHAHAJXKAKSKKDKAMD"
soundtrack-
decent.
favorite scene-
not giving much away, but the scene where a building ceiling collapses
i love the reference to a very famous scene in the comics.
setting-
i live in new york hoes, of course i love it.
thank god stan lee lived in NY. cuz practically all the movies take place in my homeland :')
it's wonderful since i understand all the inside new york jokes that others wouldn't really understand.
my family and i are still dying over the new york jokes, ahah. any new yorkers??? come on guys, the ny jokes were gr8.
also, spider-man being in NY is iconic. he can zippy zap across the buildings like the spider he is.
overall rating-
the perfect mixture of funny and action. i'm really excited to see what kinda spider-man tom holland will become. a must-see.
