The Hunting Game by RamenLady
I really got emotionally invested--fast--with the characters in The Hunting Game. Even the 'bad guy' Kyle, ironically [I say this, because they're werewolves], is humanized. Where the story is now, I feel bad for him because he lost his *SPOILER SPOILER* chosen and his mate. I'm pointing this out so that if you decide to read this you'll understand that this writer is an emotionally driven writer who, at least in this story and up to what I've read of it [all of it so far], makes each of her characters imperfectly perfect. Blame can't even be passed to Patience's oblivious sister.
Warning: There are 'mine' moments--what werewolf book doesn't have that? And I believe it is going to eventually get pretty steamy [based off of what I've read from another one of her books called Whipped Man]--can't wait for that!
Highest Ranking #24 werewolf
I can feel the power of him radiating through to me. He was making his presence known to my wolf and I. He was marking his territory and learning it carefully. I swallowed hard.
When his nose reached the crook of my neck where my pulse beats a low throaty growl rumbled from his chest and then his hand trailed up my arm sending a spark down to my core. No words were spoken. It was just his nose and lips trailing from my neck to my jaw. When he got to my ear he spoke in a low raspy voice.
"You're mine, ma cherie." His accent was prominent as he spoke huskily. He then nipped my earlobe before licking it gently and pulled back.

Rejection has never been sweeter
For Patience, life gets interesting when rejection by the one fated to be yours throws you into the yearly Hunting Game in hopes to find your chosen.
