3 Makes a Difference

Part 3 Makes a Difference

Arnav pulled Khushi from falling even though he was not sure of anything about the FLASHES. He was gazing at the girl and could not conclude anything. Who was she? Why did she repeatedly cross his path in the past few days? Was she intentionally doing that? Did she have a purpose to get something from him? But, what was about the FLASHES? Was she the one who pushed the girl from the hilltop?

Arnav got flashes again... it was not about the FALLING GIRL but about the girl in front of him. The way she looked at him shockingly when he pulled the string of her blouse, the way she threw her hair to hide her back, the way she looked at him after covering her back with her hair...! That was the first time he saw such a gesture that was filled with SELF-ESTEEM. That made his eyes lower. He looked at her back lowering his eyes.

He again looked at her face which was occupied with traces of tears. He could not ignore the truth and innocence he saw in her eyes which made him stand, letting her run away from him.

Of course, she cried that day not because he manhandled her. It was because her sister's wedding would be stopped. Was that true? Was the day her sister's wedding day? But why was he thinking about them now?

His GUT INSTINCT again warned him not to miss the girl. He felt some DOTS could not be connected WITHOUT her. So, he decided to keep her in his EYE LIMIT.

He saw Khushi walking towards the exit, with annoyance annoyance-filled face. His Howard Brain worked fast. She wouldn't stay if he asked to... at the same time, he was not a man who knew how to COAX a woman. He had to deal with this issue in HER way. He thought.

Yes, he somewhat understood what was HER way.

"RUN..." he shouted.

Khushi looked at him jerking.

"Run fast... because a simple girl like you could not stand against Arnav Singh Raizada... I'm glad you understand that. I can see FEAR in your face"

Khushi stood, biting her teeth.

"I'm not scared... my head would bow only in front of GOD"

"Talking is easy to anyone but implementing it is. It's possible only to the people who have money..."

"Are the employees of your company multimillionaires? No... yet, you need them. Because of them, you become a multimillionaire. Will you say no?" She asked heated up.

"No... I won't say no. Of course, I need my employees but what about you? Neither you are a multimillionaire nor my company employee..."

"But I got a job here..."

Cutting her,

"But, you threw the appointment order because you don't want to become LIKE ME. That's my success. I made you think I can make you like ME if you work for me..." he spilled the same smirk when he clutched her hand stopping her from falling.

"I won't become like you no matter where I'm... for whom I work"

"Challenge?"

Khushi got stuck. Challenge?

"What do you think of me? Do you think you can influence me?" she lashed again.

"It's not me but you who said that..."

Khushi again got stuck.

"Ok...Challenge...! I won't become like you no matter how many days I'm with you"

"Lemme see..." Arnav smirked. He knew it was a baseless challenge. Yet, he did only to hold her in his company because I wanted to know what was the connection between her and his flashes.

Taking the appointment order, he signed on it and extended it to her. When Khushi tried to take it from him, he pulled his hand back not letting her take it. She looked at him stunned.

"What if you became like me?"

"What's the measure to become like you?"

"You will think, MONEY is everything. You will do anything for money. You will not show mercy to your employees. You won't mind about the process but only about the RESULT..."

Cutting him,

"And, will I write my own DESTINY?" she asked sarcastically.

That pricked Arnav. The word DESTINY did something in his heart. He heard SOMEONE saying,

*You are Arnav Singh Raizada after all... You write your own destiny, right?*

It echoed in his mind.

Whose voice it was? Why did it feel DIVINE? What was happening to him? Why the hell everything was confusing him?

He came to his senses, hearing Lavanya calling him,

"ASR..."

He saw Khushi who was gazing at him with an odd expression. He came to the composure.

"You will work for AR for fifteen days. You MUST do anything told by me no matter what. I need the result. If you don't do it, that means, you will be considered as a looser"

"What if I did everything told by you in these fifteen days?"

"I will accept my defeat..."

"Not enough..."

Arnav raised his brows.

"Then?"

"You should light a lamp in front of Devi Maiya idol and say, she is the one who writes your DESTINY"

Arnav was stuck. Why the hell this girl was revolving around the word DESTINY?

"Ok... I will do it. What you want me to do is something BIG that I won't do easily. Yet, I agree. The challenge must be equal. So, you too should do something that should be BIG for yourself"

Khushi gulped down hard. What was he going to ask?

"One Lakh," he said.

One lakh? Though Khushi felt relieved she was nervous. How could she give one lakh? But why should she think about losing? So, taking a deep breath, she nodded yes.

Sitting on his seat, Arnav himself typed the contract document. Taking the printout, he signed it and kept it on his table.

Taking it, Khushi also signed it.

"Our contract will start from tomorrow," Arnav said.

Khushi nodded yes and walked. She stopped, seeing Lavanya who was unbelievably staring at her, knowing the challenge drama as she read the document when Arnav typed it. She switched her unbelievable stare to Arnav.

"ASR... what's happening here? Who is she? Do you know her before itself? Why did you have a deal with a girl who does not even have the standard to stand in front of you?"

Arnav gave her a reply as usual.

"Lavanya, in my personal life, you are my girlfriend. In the office, I'm your Boss. I don't have to give you any explanation about my actions" making Lavanya annoyed.

Taking his bag, he left AR. Though he shut Lavanya's mouth from questioning him he could not shut his mind which was throwing numerous questions at him.

Was doing all this necessary? Was keeping an illiterate girl in his office necessary? Challenging her was necessary? Arnav took a deep breath.

YES... it was necessary...! If his gut instinct was right, it was necessary. So what if it was not necessary? What would he lose by doing this? Nothing. In case, if she was related to the flashes, he might face loss if he let her go. He would not have given importance to her if the flash stopped with the first one but it didn't. He got the second flash and he saw himself in that. Then, how could he ignore it? It was clear that the flashes were related to HIM. How could he ignore her then?

He might get the flash again...! He might get clues from it. He didn't know why he was so restless. He was never like this. That was the first time, he spoke to someone coming out of ASR's style. The man who always highlighted 'IT DOESN'T MAKE DIFFERENCE (Muje koi farak nahi padta)' showed a huge difference, knowingly, to know what was happening in his life.

Arnav came home and saw Anjali coming with the Pooja plate. She fed him Prasad and smiled, seeing his weird expression. He was supposed to go to his room, but he stopped hearing Nani.

"I heard someone lit the lamp in front of DM's idol...? At least, now your office got someone to do that"

Arnav recalled what happened in his office. He could not restrict thinking about the girl who dared to challenge him. How dare she say, she would like to fall rather than be saved by him? Yet, he didn't drop her down. Not only that, he appointed her in his office with a challenge. What was wrong with him? Why his mind was out of his control? He walked thinking about it. suddenly, he thought something and stopped. He looked at Anjali who was going to the Pooja room to keep the plate back.

"Di..." he called her.

Anjali looked at him.

"Do you have any idea to wear a SUIT?"

Not only Anjali but also Nani and Mami looked at him awed.

"Suit? I stopped wearing suits long ago, Chotte. Don't you know that? But why are you asking me that?"

Arnav nodded no.

"I think Arnow bituwa ordered for a LOT for you," Manorama chuckled.

Arnav rolled his eyes.

"Don't worry Arnow Bituwa, I will start wearing suits then..." she said and others laughed.

Arnav walked to his room while thinking about how to make the girl back off from his office. At the same time, he was so curious to know whether he would get more flashes or not.

To be continued...
