Our team was fielding and she was the bowler. Nobody was expecting a good delivery from her, to be honest even I weren't because I never saw her playing a sport since she was always dressed in formals.
First delivery: she did the run up and delivered the ball. Result: batsman bowled out. Both bails were removed from the stumps.
It was shocking. I mean, first delivery by a girl and it was an out! Wow!
Second delivery: the striker was one of our best players. She delivered the ball and he hit. Result: ball caught by Bandana. She was still on the pitch and as she saw the ball, she jumped and caught it. Another wicket down!
Third delivery: Bandana was on hat-trick. This ball was really very important for us. She delivered the ball and the batsman hit it. The stiker and non-striker ran to take runs and a player from our team was about to catch the ball but due to miss fielding he missed it. It was an easy run out but we missed it.
Bandana played very well. Sir said she'll play in Gurukul's boys' cricket team, since there wasn't a girls' cricket team. Bandana's bowling was better than her batting, but overall her performance was 'kabil-e-tareef".
After the match we went in the Sport's Hall where students were practising Archery. It was Amayra's turn and we went to see her performance. Bandana told us that she's a beginner in Archery.
"Amayra kaho to me sikha du?" Sumedh asked. Amayra looked at him surprisingly. "Tum? Tum Archery sikhaoghe? Tum 'mujhe' nishaana lagana sikhaoghe?" She asked. Sumedh nodded.
Bandana and Amayra looked at each other and started laughing. "Mujhe baadme sikhana. Pehle dikhao k tumahara nishaana kesa h!" Amayra said to Sumedh. Sumedh took the bow and arrow and pointed it towards the target. He had three chances. Every time the arrow got in the target but it was some inches from the centre. It was Amayra's turn: "Ab dekhna nishaana kise kehte h" She said and shot three arrows, one after another.
