Chapter one- Out of the Hole

A/N: It was an idea that struck me awhile back ago. It was like, "Hey. Fuck it. Let's throw Chaos into every story of mine!" Never did the thought cross my mind that I would actually end up doing it.

Anyways, as always Like, Comment, if flames are added into comments they will either be read or simply not given a fuck about.

Unknown Time
Jiha village

Chaos View

The village had been hard to see through. Dust kicked everywhere, the light from the ceiling came in. Everyone had retreated to their homes except three of us.

Kamina, the one man in the group who thinks with his body and not his head. He is a young man of the age 17, he wears no shirt, pants that stop at his low shin, a pair of sandals, sunglasses, and sports short cobalt blue and messy hair. He is currently boasting about manly spirit. He believes that in order to succeed, one must believe in the man that believes in them. Meaning that he wants everyone to believe in him because he can see potential in everyone. He's also usually in prison because of his "break through the surface" schemes.

Simon, a young boy around the age of 14. Not completely sure because no one really kept track. He wears a cloak over his torso, worn down work shoes, and a pair of shorts. He sports royal blue hair and wears goggles on his head that light up and help him see in the mines. He has been working in the mines ever since he was 8 and has become the youngest, yet most determined miner in this village. He digs the most holes for everyone so they have an escape route when the tremors hit. Only this time, the tremor actually broke through the ceiling. He currently is sitting in this mech that he found in the mines.

Me, you ask? Well I guess I'm what you call the watchers over these two. Making sure they stay out of trouble that could get themselves killed. My name had been long forgotten but people just call me Chaos. The way my hair looks and my outfit choice makes me look like I've just wrecked havoc. I wear a pair of jeans but no shoes or shirt. I wear a red and blue bandana around my neck and sport short messy platinum blonde hair with natural blue streaks running through it. I'm about 19 and a half and I usually help Simon with his digging every once in awhile, but I mainly keep watch over the village. Since our village chief is usually drinking or yelling at his workers, I'm the one who actually shows the young ones how to dig, the women how to make clothing, and the men who aren't digging how to cook. Though, some of the people don't like me, thinking I'm only trying to get on the chief's good side so I'll take over.

Currently, I'm standing in front of Kamina and Simon, holding a staff made out of spare metal that I found here. We are in front of this giant... thing that is attacking our village and broke through the ceiling.

A few hours before
Jiha Village mines

"CHAOS!!!!! WHERE ARE YOU YA SHIT?!"

That was the village chief. He's drunk as hell and is standing over by the tunnels where Simon usually starts at. Probably calling me over to make sure they're actually digging and not slacking off like usual.

"Alright old man. Let me guess, you want me to watch the diggers while you go and check on everyone else." That is code for 'you're actually going to drink your head off and leave me doing everything.'

"Actually boy, I was going to show something important. Just waiting for Simon to get back because I have something for him as well." Well that's a first.

Almost as if he'd been hearing the whole time, a new hole in the wall emerged and out popped Simon with his hand drill. Kid must have been in there for a while.

"Good. Let me show you what I got for you two." He walked us over to the store section and walks us into the back room. Once there, we are sat down into a chair and he sits in the desk in front of us. The room was filled with silence for a couple minutes before he reached underneath and pulls out two things. One of them is an enclosed case with something inside of it. Not sure what though. The other, is the new drill that our factory team had just made. I assume that is for Simon.

"Simon, I want you to have this. I've seen your work in the tunnels you've made and you've helped us expand our village in ways we couldn't imagine. Here you go my boy." He hands Simon the drill as the diggers eyes light up with excitement.

"Chaos, you on the other hand have helped me out a lot in the village. For no payment but food and shelter from the tremors. I want you to have this. Keep it safe with you." In his hands was a small little vial, filled with a type of liquid. It was enclosed by a cork. I reached to open it, but he stopped me before I could. "Only for emergencies will you drink it. Your parents gave it to be before they kicked the bucket."

""Thank you."" We both said, and we walked away from his place. Looking back, he grabbed a bottle of whiskey and started pouring it down a cup while looking at a picture. I didn't see much else because I turned the corner.

Once we got back, Simon immediately went back to digging with his new drill. He was gone in an instant before I even told him what time supper was.

A few hours later, he comes back up with the chief yelling at everyone why they can't dig like him. He seems to be holding something in his hands, it looks like a miniature golden drill with a loop in it. He makes it into a necklace, stops, and holds it up in front of his face. Unfortunately it was in front of a group of girls that dislike him.

"Look at him, covered in dirt." "I know, what guy loves digging that much?" "Only that freak likes it." He hangs his head low and walks away from them. I scold the girls for not working and for picking on one of their helpers. Also gave them low portions of pig mole meat.

Simon, not looking where he's going, walked right into Kamina. The young man pushed his shades up and his face showed some confusion as to why Simon looked so down.

"Hey, Simon. The hell's gotten to you man?" He looks over and sees some of the girls I ran off earlier still hanging around and laughing behind Simon's back. "Hey, man. Don't listen to what them ugly bitches say, alright? You are a man of your own person. So that's why, you will help me out!" He grabbed the poor kid and ran over to his little gang that he named "Team Gurren." I sometimes partake in the gang's activities, but not as often anymore. I still look over those two, though; making sure they aren't getting too rough a punishment.

This time, the gang were grabbing a bunch of pig moles and their goal was for the pig moles to build a tower all the way up to the ceiling of the place where Simon was to use his drill to dig a hole through the roof so they can reach the surface. It worked for a while until...

WHACK!

The village chief smacked the top of the pile, missing Simon by a few hairs, and sent the gang back to the ground.

A couple hours later, the gang abandoned Kamina except for Simon. The poor guy wound up in the village cell for three days strapped to one of the bars until the chief said otherwise. Simon went back to digging while I decided to check on the pigmoles, making sure they get enough feed and water. I hung out with them for a while until....

BOOM!!!!!

Immediately, I grab my staff, and make run to the center of the village where I heard the loud noise. All I see...

...is a giant fucking face right in front of me.

"HOLY SHIT!" I immediately make a run for my hut but my way is blocked off when it slammed its arm down in my path.

"NOW WHERE DO YA THINK YER GOIN!" The thing asked me. Jesus this thing needed to brush its teeth every once in a while.

"Holy fuck! When was the last time you used toothpaste?!" I mocked. I must've made it angry because one moment I was standing in front of it, covering my nose, and the next I was smacked away by a giant arm right into my hut. I couldn't see anything after that as my vision faded into black.

_______________________________

Once I came to, I hear a sound of sniper fire and demolition happening in the background, along with the sound of destruction. Opening my eyes, I could barely move as my leg was stuck under debris and felt broken as did my ribs.

Hefting the piece of of my leg, I can see that it's bent at an unnatural angle, rendering it immobile for the time being. Must've been dislocated. I looked around the hut and feel something trickling down the side of my face. And it felt like the whole right side was covered in it, blocking my line of sight from my right eye.

'The vial!' Thinking quickly, I popped open the cork and drank the liquid down completely. A surge of power coursing through my veins as well as a burning sensation. It felt as if I was trapped in a tunnel of blue flames, but they didn't hurt me. Instead they felt natural. My senses were sharpened. My hearing was off the charts, being able to hear even the slightest little breath by one of the villagers. I could see every detail in the cracks of the walls to the threads in my clothes and hat. The smell of everything was increased tenfold.

Before the fire calmed down, I saw a dragon staring back at me, smiling as the flames and it went into my body. The dragon spoke as it's being was entwined with mine.

"Good to see you again, Chaos! It's been awhile!"

Getting back up was a challenge, and the pain on my ribs didn't make it any better. But I was able to make it to my feet and I stood up. I snapped my leg back into place with a large hiss of pain being released. I looked back up and was devastated by what I had saw.

Destruction. Death. In other words, chaos. Pure and utter chaos.

But I looked past that and picked up my staff. I fixed my hat and covered my face with my bandana. The fire from within taking shape in a spiral and covered the weapon as I charged the giant face.

Simon's View
Minutes earlier

"N-Nice save, Simon." I dug a hole underneath Kamina and the surface girl just before the big face crushed them with its fist.

"No prob. Hey, have either of you seen Chaos?"

"Who's that?" The new girl asked. She had long red hair that was tied back into a ponytail with a couple strands on her face. Her skin was tanned darker than us, but not as much as Chaos was. The color of her eyes glowing a bright yellow. Her outfit choice was a little surprising to say the least.

Barely having anything covering her top, she wore a red bikini top with a flame design. She wore yellow sunglasses on her face and a grey bandana around her neck. Her bottom attire was only a VERY short pair of black leather shorts with a silver belt holding them on her rather curvy figure. She wore white, knee-length stockings that were covered by a pair of white combat boots.

"He wears a white bandana around his neck, right?"

"Yeah, that's him. Did you perhaps see where he was?"

"Well, he made a remark while waving his hand in front of his face saying something about the gunman's breath smelling terrible. That was all he did before he was smacked into that building over there." While we were talking, I was leading everyone to something I had seen while digging and went to show Kamina before this happened. We stopped by a window and that's where the green-eyed girl pointed to the broken down hit that once belonged to the Dranigon's.

"Damn. Looks like that ugly face got a hold of him!" Kamina blurted out. He was fixing to say more before a bright blue light shot out of the rubble of Chaos' home. Flames were shot into a large typhoon and in the middle of it was Chaos crouching. The flames died down and Chaos snapped something back into place before he lit his staff on fire and charged the giant thing.

Kamina's view
Present time

Chaos shot off like those rocks we used to shoot with slingshots at the face, and slammed his flaming staff into it. The force from the attack made the thing spin and fall onto its back, bewildered by what had happened.

"YEAH CHAOS!! THATS HOW YOU USE THAT MANLY SPIRIT!!" I didn't get to say anything else as the girl with the large sniper started shooting at the thing trying to hit the circus or whatever it's called.

"Guys! Down here!" And we followed Simon again down into the mines. It took about three to five minutes, but Simon finally led us to what he found.

Which was a face.

A giant face at that.

"Wow Simon. Yesterday a tiny drill and now a- what the?" Simon's little drill that he dug up yesterday was glowing in correspondence to the thingy.

"W-what's going on?" "Hey buddy. Why don't you spin your machine on?"

He looked back at me as I said those words, surprised that he's the one that gets to do the honors.

"Bro?" "Well you found these things, right? That makes them yours! And if you can't turn it on, then use your manly spirit to control its will!"

"Geez, is he always like that?"

"No he's right!" He put his drill into the hole that was glowing, and turned it. Light came on and started spinning in a spiral, the machine has been given life.

Chaos
Present

I stare at my hand in awe, amazed by what just happened. The machine started to stand again and I readied myself for the battle, the fire coming back.

Only, it took another hit and was thrown into the air spinning around as it crashed back into its side.

"The hell?"

A tiny miniature face was the cause of the destruction. I started to turn and attack it while it was in midair before I heard a voice coming from it.

"Chaos! Nice hit on that thing! Let's team up against it!" Kamina opened the cockpit and revealed everyone inside. Simon at the controls, him on the right side, and a red headed girl on the left.

"About time! I thought you boys died for a second because I couldn't hear your loudass self!" "You jackass!"

"Chaos, Simon, let's do the you know what!" "Huh, What are you on bro?" "The fuck does that mean?"

"You dumbasses! Simon, What I mean is that we're going to grab Chaos and chunk him at that thing! Then we will use those drills of yours to tear it apart." The baby blue haired man had never seemed so confident before in his life.

I sighed and finally answered him; "This better work or I'm taking away your rations for the next three days!" Simon -his machine rather- picked me up cocked the arm back. I bursted into flames and so did the tiny mech. The fire combining so well with the tiny face that it threw a fireball behind me.

"AZURE DRAGON'S SKYWARD STRIKE!" The words and my technique came out on their own and I bounced off the floor below and sent the giant thing skyward towards the ceiling it came through; Simon and the gang following right on it as he drilled into the machine and tore it apart. They continued to fly upwards into the sky and I jumped on buildings after buildings before I reached for it, the girl grasping my hand and helped me up.

"You know, Simon, you worked this thing pretty well." "You really think so, Chaos?" "Of course he does, Lagann is your machine, like it was made for you! I'm not fit to pilot this thing like you can." "Lagann?" "Of course! A manly name for a manly mech!"

We stopped talking and looked at the view; we were so high off the ground that we could see the surface curve at the distance. The sky separated into two beautiful colors, a reddish orangish hue and a midnight blue.

"Yoko." The lady spoke, "That's my name, it's Yoko." A little pig-mole poked out from between her chest. "Why is this thing in my cleavage?"

Now that I got a good look at her, she was a really beautiful lady. Her long red hair held up by two sticks and a skull holding them together. Her figure was that near an hourglass, and her outfit picked her together perfectly. She had a faint set of abs, probably from hoisting that rifle of hers and getting into those high places. Her thighs were so big they could probably break a melon. Not to mention her sizable chest. I'm not being perverted, it's just kinda hard to think of anything else when someone wears something that revealing. All in all, she was beautiful.

"Ah! Boota! Get out of there!" "Hey Simon? Think you could slow us down?" "Uh oh!" We started falling. I was on the side so I hung onto whatever I could grab while hold close Yoko as she nearly flew off. Springs popped out from under Lagann and cushioned the landing but Yoko and I still bounced off and rolled a couple feet.

I landed on my back and felt another weight on my chest. Looking up, I can see Yoko's eyes staring into mine, but quickly remove them as I get her off of me gently.

"Thanks, for catching me." She smiled as she said so and I smiled back.

"Can't let a pretty girl take that big of a fall, can I?"

A piece she had in her ear started buzzing and she started talking to someone through it, but I could hear their voice nearly perfectly for some reason.

"Yoko! We see you and three others! Is that a gunman in your possession?" The voice said, a male one.

"Yeah Dayakka. We're on our way over there as we speak."

Time skip, three hours later

We used Lagann to take some of the pieces of the broken gunman since it was too heavy for us to handle on our own. We met up with Littner Village, turns out they were the next one over but were forced to submerge from the ground after a terrible gas leak broke loose and started to kill people by the tens.

Dayakka was a rather large built man, sporting green hair and wearing a white tank top, the man seemed to be in charge of the surface people.

Their mechanic, Leeron, I couldn't say rather. He says that he doesn't specify by gender, but it's kinda weird, sounds like a guy, kinda built like a guy, the only difference is the makeup. But other than that, he's a really good mechanic and knew almost everything top to bottom.

The rest of the members I didn't really meet since they were too busy stuffing their faces with this, "soup" stuff. That's another thing I'm not used to. Having so much food on display as well as not at all pig-moles for every meal. I picked up my plate and walked to the top of the cave from which their village resides under. I was more welcome to the peace than everyone else, Kamina fit in just fine and Simon followed his every move. Me, I'm just not as boisterous as they are. He was over there telling stories about how he, Simon, Yoko and I, (really just everyone but him) fought the gunman to death and how we breached the surface.

I don't know. I couldn't really make any heads or tails of how they can act all amazed and excited like that. Not saying I'm happy that we're on top, it's just that, we're more prone to dangers out here and that we have to be prepared for every move.

A cloak was put around me while I was off in thought. I turned around and it was Yoko with a smile on her face as she looked at me.

"You looked a little cold." She took a seat next to me and I could tell she didn't fair off any better. I took off the cloak and put it around her instead and she curled up in it, almost amazed by how warm it had gotten after only having it on me for a couple seconds.

"I'm fine, actually. I've always had unnatural body heat that kept me warm throughout my life. I never felt cold. Not even when I lost the closest people around me, the warm ness was still there." I look up at what they call a sky, and gaze upon the bright lights.

"I'm guessing you're not the one to get all emotional, huh? Instead you just bury your personal feelings away and put in a brave face for those around you." She looked up as well, and I felt her shift a little closer.

"I know. Sounds crazy, right? I'm watching over those two kids and yet I don't care about what I get out of it. So long as I make sure nothing happens to those brats." I looked back down to where Kamina was telling Littner Village about his old man, when I'm struck with a vision.

——

Do fear me, Chaos Dranigon Of Team Gurren. You will know true terror at once.

A member of Team Gurren may fall in the future. It is your choice whether it will happen or not.

——

The vision ends as I'm back on top of the cliff top. Yoko has been waving her hand in front of my face for the past ten minutes trying to get my attention.

"Hello? You still there?" I grab her hand and ask her nicely to stop.

"Yeah. Just, fell into my thoughts for a bit." She rests her hand on my shoulder, giving it a comforting squeeze.

"Well, listen. I'm going to bed, we have a busy day tomorrow. If you wish to stay up here for a little longer, you're more than welcome to. Your room is next to mine on the right side of the cave." She started walking down the way she and I came with a hand waving goodbye. "Oh. And if you ever need someone to talk to about anything, don't be afraid to knock first." And she left.

I stayed out for a bit longer; drinking this thing they call tea as I go back through my thoughts. The moon finally hit the top of the sky as I called it a night and made my way back down. Kamina and Simon's room was easy to find, the two blood brothers can never seem to be quiet, even in sleep. Their snores are so loud that I'm surprised the cave isn't shaking.

Shaking my head as I laughed at their antics, I walk to the room that Yoko said was mine. It wasn't too small but not too big either. There was a closet in the back right, a bed against the wall, and a bathroom to the left. Looking inside I can see another door that probably leads to Yoko's room, meaning we may share the same cleaning area for our personal business.

The bed was comfy, no doubt about that, but I just couldn't get myself to fall asleep. So I just went back outside, working on my technique and trying to bring out the flame I had earlier, but nothing happened. So I just focused on some work with my staff for now, adjusting the weight so it would be easier to maneuver in battle. I don't know how I got this. I woke up one morning and it was there, and as I picked it up, it felt like I knew how to use it in nearly every way possible.

I trained until I eventually blacked out, the only thing going through my mind was to just not quit until I'm dead.
