"Nanami! Daddy has a big job to go to so let pause on our date for today. Be ready for me when I get home okay?".
Don't go
"Be safe Dad! I'll watch you on TV so beat those bad guys butt!".
No don't go. I won't see you again. Please Dad!
"I love you, my little Nanami".
"I love you too Daddy!".
I love you.....Please don't go......I don't want to watch you die.....I don't want to be Alone
"Captain is down! Oh god! He's not getting up!".
".....Daddy?".
"I think he's dead. Wait! He's saying something".
"Nanami.....Sorry...looks like out date is gonna have to wait".
"All your fault. All your fault. It's all your fault Nanami".
"Please stop Mom",
It's wasn't my fault
"I hate you".
"Please calm down Mom".
Stop yelling at me. I don't want you to yell,
"I wish you were never born"
...
...
...
I wish the same thing
I wake up covered in sweat and out of breath. I haven't had a dream like that since before my mom left. That call yesterday must have triggered it. I take deep breaths and try to calm down. "Meow". Mustang jumps up on my bed. "I'm okay. Promise". He rubs himself against my chest. "Thanks bud". I run my fingers through his black fur. I glance over at my alarm clock. 5:36am. I guess I'm not going to bed anytime soon so might as well get up. I gently pick up Mustang and place him on the other side of me. I get out of bed and stretch. "I should take a shower and then I'll eat some breakfast and maybe visit Dad before school". Mustang ignores me as he rolls all over my light blue blankets. "You don't care".
I search through my dresser from some clean socks and underwear. I open the top one on the right and see my dads goggles. I take them into my hands and run my thumb over the yellow lens. My dad always wore these and he honestly looked like a huge dork but I never had the heart to tell him that. Should I take them with me? Maybe I should. He'll be happy to see them again. I place them next to my bag. I soon find underwear and socks and head into the shower. My uniform is already hanging in the bathroom so Mustang doesn't use it as a scratching post.

I finish drying my hair and walk into the kitchen. What should I eat? Toast and butter sounds amazing for some reason. I hurry and make my simple breakfast and scarf it down. "Mustang! I'm off to school! There's food in your bowl and water". I don't get a response but I know he heard me. I grab my bag and my dad's goggles. "Bye!". I head out ad lock the door behind me. 6:20am. Enough time to visit dad and get to school. The cemetery is about a 12 minute walk from my house while U.A is a 30 minute walk from the cemetery. I better leave by 7:20 if I want to be early. I start my walk, I stop at a small flower shop owned by a sweet old lady named Sachiko. "Good morning Nanami, picking up flowers for your Dad? I haven't seen you in awhile young lady". I nod. "Sorry about that, I was training and studying to get into U.A". She gives me a smile. "He's proud of you. He would always talk about how he wanted you to become a great hero". She hands me an assortment of flowers held together with clear wrapping and a light green ribbon. "How much?". She shakes her head. "It's on the house". I don't try and argue since I know she won't change her mind. "I'll bring you some sugar cookies next time". She gives me a thumbs up. "I'll be waiting, now hurry up". I start walking again.
I get there in 7 minutes and head to the familiar path. I see his grave standing there, like he was waiting for me. I stand right in front of his head stone. "Hey Dad, Sorry I haven't visited much. I got into U.A and made some friends already". I place the flowers on his grave. "I didn't bring the cake you like but I make sure to bring you extra next time". I imagine my dad crossing his arms across his chest and pouting playfully. "Mom called yesterday but I couldn't bring myself to call back. I haven't forgiven her yet". Not yet. "Oh and I found your goggles! I brought them with me since I thought you would like to see them again". I pull them out of my bag and show him. "I never understood why you liked them so much. They look like something a dorky anime character would wear". I smile to myself. "But you still looked cool even with them on". Something clicked in my head. "This is the missing part to my costume". I feel like Dad somehow told me to wear them.
"I promise that even if they are the most dorkiest thing in the world, I always wear them. Maybe I'll upgrade them with some cool high tech stuff. I should ask if I could get your hero name engraved in them so you'll always be there with me". I smile at this thought. "I'm going to be a great hero just like you. Promise". I sit down in front of his grave. "P-Promise". My heart hurts. I feel some tears falling onto the lens of my glasses. "S-Sorry Dad". I wipe the tears from my glasses and face. I check the time on my phone. 7:19. "I better go. I'll be back this weekend with those cakes and more flowers". I stand up and wave goodbye to My dad. "I love you". I walk down the path to the entrance.

"Hey Nanami!!!". I turn around and notice a familiar trio. "Hey guys". I stop for them to catch up. "Woah Nanami! You look dead. Did you not sleep/". Uraraka questions. "I did, Just a nightmare woke me up". Deku raises an eyebrow. "It's fine. Really". I raise my hands up. "Please make sure you get enough sleep. You're a growing teen Nanami". Iida does his little hand gesture. "I will. It was just one nightmare guys". I smile. "Let's get to class you worry warts". The walk to class mainly featured many reasons why you should sleep and nightmare facts given to me by Deku and Iida. Uraraka just nodded the entire time. Classes weren't all that interesting since they were just normal high school classes. I think Present Mic really needs to work on his English class. Watching mustang try and catch a fly for an hour is more interesting. Lunch came rather slowly if you ask me. Maybe it was because I was tired. The hero, Lunch Rush, made some amazing food. I tried to enjoy my lunch but a certain pair of nerds kept asking me about my sleeping habits again. Uraraka made not effort to help me shut them up. Then, afternoon classes finally came. The basic Hero training classes came along.
Class started and the door flung up and out popped my Uncle, wearing his Silver age costume. "I HAVE ENTERED THE ROOM LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!!!". I snort at that comment. Normal my ass. Chatter fills the classroom my Uncle waltz into the class. "Hero basic training! This class with put you through special training to mold you into amazing heroes!". He strikes a pose. "No time to Dally. Today's training is!!". He pulls out a card with "Battle" written in bold letters. "Battle training!!!". Hell yeah! "And for this you'll need these". He holds a remote in his right hand. He presses a button and cases slide out from the wall. I grab the goggles from my bag and hold them to my chest. Everyone cheers. "After you suit up, come out in ranking order to ground beta".
We all grab our cases and head to the locker rooms. "What are those Nanami?". Uraraka gestures to the goggles I'm holding. "Oh, they're the last part of my costume. I guess it was a good thing I brought them today". She studies them. "They look dorky". I nod. "I know". We head in the girls locker room. "I want them to look extra dorky". She shrugs. "They match your personality". I find my locker and start undressing. "I hope they do". I pull out my costume. It was a black sleeveless top with red trimming with a collar. It had a red tie to go along with it. I had a black skirt with red trimming as well. I made sure I had shorts sewn in for safety measures. I had plain black finger-less gloves to help boost up that bad-ass vibe. Let's not forget my flexible thigh high support socks. They are made from a material to help keep any strain from hitting my legs when I need to boost my speed. That was a huge issue with my quirk for some reason. The combat boots I requested only help me grip the ground better just in case and because they look fucking cool. I finish getting ready and add the last touch. I take my glasses off and place the goggles around my neck. Let's do this Dad.
Sorry for the late update!! I kept rewriting this chapter for some reason. I hope you enjoy the small angst part I threw in there. I plan to reveal more about our little Nanami but I wanted to ask: What should Nanami's hero name be? I was thinking maybe just her name but I want your guys thoughts about this. I wanted to include her dad in her name but I'm not sure how so please leave any ideas you have down in the comments! I hope you have a great day/night everyone!
