The scientists killed George with an injection, as if they were putting him down. However, when a puncture to his skin was made, the guinea pig suddenly exploded, and big green clouds of toxic gas came pouring out of him. The gas instantly killed the scientists, and started to spread quickly.

Benji finally answered one of Ellie's calls.
"Benji! Have you seen what's on the news?!" Ellie screamed.
"Yeah! W-We're all going to die!"
"Quick... Meet me at my house... I have something to tell you," Ellie instructed. Benji hung up and did as he was told.

They met outside Ellie's house. They both stood by the door, watching the deadly clouds ascend into the sky in the distance.
"Benji... I think I did this..." She held up her phone, which was on a news website. There was a reporter, live, talking.
"Scientists were offered a 'magical guinea pig' that turned out to be a container of pressurised toxic gas. All the scientists are dead, so we don't know what to do. Over to you, Dave. How's the weather looking?" The screen changed to a map, and a weatherman infront of it.
"Well, Samantha, it's looking pretty green," he said in a serious tone.

Ellie turned her phone off and looked at Benji.
"That guinea pig..." she started, "It was given to me by a mermaid on the beach, on my birthday..."
Benji's expression turned to anger.

"You mean you've had a magical radioactive hamster for a 11 months and you never told me? And now it's destroying the world?!" He yelled. "Y'know what, Ellie, fuck you! I don't need you." He stormed off.

Ellie tried to stop him, but she couldn't. The green clouds were racing towards them by this point. Ellie stood at her door and watched her best friend walk into the cloud of death. She listened to him die, only just realising what she did by ignoring him. But now, it was too late.

Ellie was consumed by the gas, and she too, died.
