The moment when Cassie and Kiara had first become friends was right after Kiara decided to call the cops on Sarah's birthday party she wasn't invited to.

Cassie wished she could have came up with that idea first — since she wasn't invited to the party either obviously — when she found out about it since it was a brilliant idea. But since she hadn't, she was determined to figure out who did.

When school resumed after the weekend of the party, rumors were circulating throughout the school that Kiara Carrera had been the one to call the cops since she hadn't been invited despite being Sarah's best friend.

That's when Cassie got the idea to stroll up to her as Kiara ate lunch alone, sitting down across from her. The two got to talking, then laughing, then gossiping...

The two girls ditched school that same day, becoming fast friends as they talked shit all day long about Sarah Cameron.

Unfortunately, Kiara's parents pulled her from the Kook Academy soon after that since Kiara wasn't taking it seriously enough and she begged them to unenroll her prior to meeting Cassie.

That didn't stop Cassie and Kiara's friend to bud into what it was — healthy and beautiful — before they found that infamous Grady-White.

Cassie was determined to revive their friendship back to that, to the way it was.

Cassie and JJ stayed at Kitty Hawk until the sun came down. They had grabbed some supplies and disguises from the Twinkie, AKA, bandanas to wear around their face. They found a spot behind some shrubbery to camp out at until they knew for sure they wouldn't be spotted by anyone who worked there.

To pass the time, they had been playing a game where they would go back and forth asking questions and the other person would have to answer truthfully.

So it was basically truth or dare, but just truth or truth.

"If you could switch lives with any one of the Pogues for a day, who would you choose?" JJ decided to ask after a few rounds of asking questions already.

"Hm, that's a good one." Cassie thought about her answer, taking it very seriously. "Probably Pope."

"Pope? Why Pope?" JJ asked curiously.

She shrugged. "I wanna know what it's like to have a smart brain. And also the most normal parents out of us all," she answered.

"True. That's...very true." JJ pointed at her. "You're already smart to me, though," he complimented, booping her nose.

"First of all, booping of the nose is only reserved for me." She booped him on the nose as an example and he rolled his eyes playfully. "And second of all, you don't need to lie to me just because you're my boyfriend," she told him. "We all know I've done some really dumb things. Especially lately."

He shrugged. "We're human. We're supposed to do dumb things."

Cassie gave him a look. "Did you just suddenly become Pope?" she joked and he just laughed at that.

"All right, your turn."

She thought over what question she could ask before she started to smirk. "Have you ever dreamt about me?"

JJ raised his brows, hoping she wouldn't see the faint blush that made his way to cheeks because it had gotten dark out. "Yes..."

"Oh, you have now?" she teased.

"Now, now, it wasn't anything that bad," he said to her.

"That bad?" Cassie repeated, arching a brow.

JJ cleared his throat. "Okay, my turn. Have you ever dreamt about me?" he flipped the question on her.

She scoffed at him. "Hey, you can't repeat a question," she scolded him.

"When did we ever say that?" he pointed out. "Or are just trying to avoid the question?"

Cassie felt her own blush creep up to her cheeks. "I'm not trying to avoid the question, psh," she brushed off. "I'll answer it. Yes, I have dreamt about you."

"Oh, you're such a hypocrite then," JJ said playfully, poking her in the side. "You were just making fun of me for dreaming about you, but you've done the same exact thing," he continued as he kept poking her in the side to make her giggle.

"Jay! Jay, stop!" she whisper-shouted through her giggles. "Someone might hear us!" JJ pulled his hands away, holding them up. "And, fine, yes. You caught me."

It was his turn to smirk. "And what kind of dreams were they?"

"Hey, you already asked your question. It's my turn again," she responded, holding up a finger to his face. She looked past him, seeing a golf cart drive past with its lights on. "Hey, hey, hey, do you think that means they already checked the property?"

JJ looked over his shoulder, seeing the cart drive by. "Yeah. It's go time," he said before he pulled up the bandana over his mouth and nose at the same time Cassie did. He suddenly groaned, "I won't get to hear that answer from you."

"Sorry not sorry!" Cassie teased before she grabbed his hand. "Now, come on!" she urged as the two got out of their hiding spots.

They rushed through the camp, trying to get to Kiara as fast as possible. JJ pulled out the crowbar from his backpack, planning on using it to break Kiara out.

However, once they reached the "Reflection Cabin" that they had seen Kiara in before, there had been security guards walking right down the path they needed to take.

"Oh, God," JJ panted as he and Cassie pressed their backs up on the side of the cabin.

"Are they still there?" Cassie whispered after a few seconds.

JJ slowly peered around the corner of the building before he replied, "No, let's go."

The two ran over to the steps of the cabin, making their up in a crouch. Once they reached the locked door, JJ used to the crowbar to break the lock and open up the door.

JJ allowed Cassie to go inside first before he stepped in after her, carefully closing the door so it wouldn't make any noise.

"Kiara?" Cassie called out in a quiet voice as she looked around the small cabin. However, there had been no answer and she hadn't seen anyone inside. "Where are you, Kiki?"

"She's not here?" JJ questioned from behind her and Cassie turned to him, shaking her head. "She was just here."

Cassie sighed, "I know, I don't know."

Cassie needed to find Kiara. She needed to apologize and make up with her or else she would never forgive herself. She would never forgive herself if her best friend had been locked in this stupid jail disguised as a wilderness camp for God knows how long and she wouldn't even able to tell her that she was sorry.

Sorry for jumping right to conclusions instead of listening to her like she should have from the beginning. And now it might have been too late.

Might.

JJ looked past his girlfriend, spotting something written on one of the wooden bed frames. "Hey, wait look." JJ walked past her, pointing to what was written on it.

P4L
Cabin 6

Cassie blinked at it, a stunned grin forming on her mouth underneath her bandana. "That's gotta be where Kie is," Cassie realized and JJ nodded. She could practically see the way he had smiled from underneath his bandana as well by the way his corners of his eyes had crinkled. "Come on."

The couple made their way out of the Reflection Cabin, finding where Cabin 6 was. Once they found the correct cabin, they climbed the steps to it with JJ getting ready to crack open the door with the crowbar again.

"Wait, no," Cassie stopped him and he turned to her, furrowing his brows. She dug into her pocket and pulled out a Bobby pin, a smirk growing on her lips from underneath her bandana.

"God, I love you," JJ breathed out.

Her face flushed. "I learned from the best," she replied before she got to work on cracking open the lock with the Bobby pin.

Once she got it open, she pushed open the door, causing it to creak a bit. She winced as her and JJ stepped inside, the latter closing the door behind them.

"Kiara?" Cassie called out in a whisper.

"Kie?" JJ said in the same way.

They kept calling out her name as they made their way further into the cabin in a crouch, not wanting to be seen or heard by the other girls that were sleeping inside. However, just their luck, one of the girls flicked their lamp on and rose from her spot on the top bunk.

"What are you doing in here?" the girl questioned as Cassie and JJ froze in place, slowly pulling the bandanas down from their faces since there was no use in wearing them now.

The couple shared a wary look before JJ responded, "Hi there. Uh, evening, miss. Uh..."

Suddenly, more girls began to wake up from their slumber and looked over to see JJ and Cassie standing on the floor, looking severely out of place. A. Because a man was in here and B. What Cassie was wearing was definitely not Kitty Hawk attire.

"...Sorry. Sorry. Sorry to bother y'all. Okay. Hello, everyone. Uh...shit. I know this looks bad. I come in peace," JJ continued before he pointed to Cassie next to him. "She comes in peace as well."

Cassie sighed, "We're just looking for someone. We're looking...we're looking for—"

"Me," someone finished for the Blake girl behind them and the couple turned around, seeing Kiara Carrera sat on the top bunk bed wearing a Kitty Hawk sweatshirt and her hair all frizzy.

Cassie felt relief flow through her veins as the sight of the Carrera girl, unsure if she was ever going to see her again and make things right. But this was finally her chance now.

"Kiki," Cassie breathlessly said.

Kiara climbed off of the bunk bed and dashed her way over, immediately enveloping Cassie in a hug the two girls desperately needed after everything despite their unresolved feud.

Once Kiara pulled away, she looked between the two blondes and spluttered, "How did— How?"

"I know. Okay, yeah. It's a long story. No time to explain though," JJ said with a pant, wanting to get out of there as fast as possible so they wouldn't be caught and all of this would have been for nothing.

Cassie looked at JJ. "Wait, there's one thing though," she quickly told him and Kiara looked back over to her, her brows pinching together.

Cassie looked back at Kiara, releasing a breath to prepare herself. "You know how I said I would talk about what happened at the party on the plane? Well, I'm gonna do it right now instead because we're obviously not getting on that plane," she said and Kiara laughed lightly. "I'm sorry, Kiki. I'm sorry for letting a stupid boy get in the way of our friendship."

"Uh, I'm right here, you know," JJ piped up from behind her, causing all the girls in the cabin to shush him. He held his hands up and defense and muttered, "Wow, okay, I see how it is."

Cassie chuckled a bit before she got serious once more. "I should've told you everything from the start and I shouldn't have blamed you for liking him when you had no idea about us. And when you told him you loved him...I should've listened to you explain. I let all the anger get to my head like it usually does. But I shouldn't have done that with you. And I'm just...I'm sorry. I'm sorry and I want to be keep being best friends with you. I can't imagine my life without you by my side."

Kiara smiled lightly, her eyes watering a bit from the sentimentality of it all. "I'm sorry, too. I should've never said that to him, but it just slipped out by accident. I didn't even realize what I said until I saw you behind me," she admitted. "I really didn't want to come in between you both and I still don't. You guys are my best friends and...I only want to see you guys happy. And if being happy means you two being together, then I'm happy for you."

Cassie's lips quirked up into a gentle smile. "I love you, Kiki."

"I love you, Cece," she replied breathlessly before the girls wrapped each other into another hug, causing the cabin of girls to erupt in applause and cheers.

JJ looked at Cassie and Kiara with a glad grin on his face at the fact his girlfriend and best friend had made up. He thought back to the time the two girls comforted him after he helped his father flee the Outer Banks.

Just his best friend and his girlfriend.

Kiki and Cece.

What more could he ask for?

He then realized the other girls in the cabin were making a lot of noise, so he pulled his gaze away from Cassie and Kiara and whisper-shouted, "Whoa! Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa! Hey! Keep it down, keep it down! Guys, come on! Shh!"

Kiara quickly rushed over to grab her bag of things before the three of them made their way out of the cabin, followed by the other girls in the cabin to watch them run off.

"To the right! Go, go, go!" JJ instructed as they ran to the right, trying to get out of there before they were caught. "We can't really go through the front gate."

Cassie and Kiara started to giggle with one another as JJ whooped excitedly. "I never thought I was gonna make it out!" Kiara admitted in high-spirits, holding her arms out.

"Gotta have more faith in us," JJ pointed out.

"Seriously. I've been kidnapped, like, four times now and I've escaped each time. So, trust me, I know how this shit works," Cassie said playfully, causing JJ to chuckle.

"Mwah! This place can suck it!" Kiara exclaimed as she practically skipped away from the Kitty Hawk sign.

"Wilderness camp," JJ voiced bitterly before making a fart noise with his mouth, causing Cassie to laugh at him.

"Where are we going? Is it this way?" Kiara asked them as they made their way through the long grass to get to the street.

"Yeah, yeah, right up here. This is where we're uh—"

"Why did you guys park so far?" Kiara complained.

"Uhhhh, kinda a long story, but um, because there's only one road into Kitty Hawk. And with the camp and your mom knowing what the Twinkie looks like, I thought it'd be best to leave it as a decoy," JJ explained. "There should be— That's a cop. Go. Cop! Cop! Cop! Cop!"

The three swiftly went behind a small tree, hiding from the police car so they wouldn't be caught and Kiara would be brought back while JJ and Cassie would probably be arrested.

The siren wailed past them and Cassie released a sigh of relief as JJ whispered, "That's what the decoy's for."

"So are we hitchhiking?" Kiara questioned.

"Not quite. We missed Ward's plane, but we got another plane," he revealed as he stepped out into the road, peering down it in anticipation. "Come on, man. Where you at, dude?" he spoke to himself through clenched teeth.

"Who is he talking about?" Kiara asked Cassie.

"Oh, just you wait," the Blake girl replied and Kiara gave her a weird look.

Suddenly, a car skirted down the road and Cassie began to smirk. "Here he comes. Dude, come on! Hurry up, man, come on!" JJ urged him.

"Who the hell is that?" Kiara queried, her brows furrowed as she looked in between the two blondes.

"Kiara, I want you to meet someone," JJ began to introduce.

"Is that Barracuda Mike?" Kiara realized once she saw the man's face through the windshield, her face scrunching up.

"Yep!"

"The one and only," Cassie confirmed as JJ pulled open the door for them.

"Bus is waiting. All aboard," Barracuda Mike spoke up from the driver's seat.

"Barracuda Mike, Kiara. Kiara, Barracuda Mike," JJ introduced the Carrera girl. "And you already know Cassie."

"Hop on in there," Barracuda Mike said to the them.

"Let me-let me get the seat," JJ said. "Wait, no, hold on," he spluttered as he tried moving the seat so the girls would be able to get into the back.

Cassie got in first, scooting into the left back seat behind Barracuda Mike. "Told you we wouldn't make you regret it," she said to the man.

"Hey, there's still time. My pockets don't feel heavier yet, do they?" he pointed out.

She shrugged. "True."

"Nice to meet you," Kiara said to Barracuda Mike as she crawled into the back next to her best friend.

"That bar is for your safety."

"Plane's ready, right?" JJ inquired.

"Plane is ready. It's been ready, dude. Let's go," Barracuda Mike affirmed as JJ hopped in the front seat next to him.

"Whoo! That's what I'm talkin' about! I did it good! I'm a hustler, baby!" JJ cheered excitedly before Barracuda Mike drove off towards where had his plane.

"How did you guys even manage to do this?" Kiara asked, blinking rapidly in disbelief.

JJ looked over his shoulder at Cassie before the both of them shrugged and answered, "Long story."

Kiara glanced between the two of them before she rolled her eyes playfully. "Tell me on the plane then. I'm sure it'll be a long ride."

Once they got there, the plane had already been started up on the grass in the random field Barracuda Mike had found. The spinning propellers on the plane had caused the wind to pick up and the grass beneath them to move under their feet.

"Direct flight to South America on Barracuda Airlines. What more could you ask for?" JJ narrated as he walked up to the plane with Cassie next to them and Kiara trailing behind a bit, wanting to give the couple some space.

"Are you sure about this, guys?!" Kiara called out from behind them.

Cassie stopped walking to look at her best friend and then at her boyfriend, seeing his blonde hair flowing on his head from the wind created by the plane's propellers.

"You got somewhere else to be?" JJ responded.

Kiara thought about it for a moment before she shook her head. "Not anymore!"

"Me neither!" JJ agreed before he looked at his girlfriend, who was looking at him with a loving smile. "I know you got your aunt and cousin now, Cass, but—"

"They can wait for me," Cassie interrupted him and JJ closed his mouth, staring at her. "I'm doing this with you. And besides, we might be able to get that surf trip you've always wanted once it's all over, right?"

JJ grinned at her, searching the stars in her eyes that led back to him and only him. "I'm holding you to that, princess," he replied and she blushed, fixing the strap from the duffle bag on her shoulder.

JJ pulled his eyes away from his girlfriend, glancing in between the two girls. "Now, next stop...El Dorado. Let's go." JJ placed his hand on the small of Cassie's back to urge her forward as the three of them made their way inside the plane.

"Come on, let's get the hell outta here! Go, go, go!" Barracuda Mike shouted before he pressed a button to close the doors. "Goin' down."

The plane started to move across the grass, getting ready take off. Cassie and JJ looked at one another with beaming smiles before they brought their hands up, celebrating with a few laughs that their plan had actually worked.

One of their plans actually worked. That had to mean good luck for the start of their relationship, right? That's what Cassie was taking it as and she wasn't going to hear any complaints.

JJ turned his head, his fingers still interlocked with Cassie's. "Let's go!" JJ said to Barracuda Mike.

Kiara looked between the both of them, a side smile make its way up to her face. Although she was watching her crush with another girl that happened to be her best friend, she still felt happy for them and she knew she would get over it soon enough.

Kiara had been best friends with Cassie for basically two years now. And in that time, she had never seen Cassie look at a boy like that or speak the way she had about JJ. She knew Cassie, her best friend, was finally in love.

Kiara had also been best friends with JJ for basically nine years now. And in that time, she had never seen JJ look at a girl like that or speak the way he had about Cassie. She knew JJ, her other best friend, was finally in love as well.

Now all she could was pray for the day a love like that would find her.

But first...they needed to get to South America.
