Chapter Six
Now, it's Priscilla's POV.
Even though the first few chapters, I haven't did any povs. It was only Priscilla's in the beginning.. the last chapter was about Kevin as y'all saw.
So.... 😏 Here is Priscilla's POV.
Priscilla.
I followed the fool into the elevator and stood there, still. Felt my stomach grumbling crazily. I held my belly as he glanced at me. Suddenly, the boxed room he and I was in went CREEEEAAAKK! BOOM.
The lights flickering, he cussed under his breath and presses the buttons hurriedly.
I stood in the corner, feeling my heart palpitating crazily. I checked the phone signal and stood on my toes, each corner of the elevator for signal. It barely worked.
Defeated, I collapsed on the floor and burst into tears. He then glares at me and stood slumping down to the floor, on his knees.
It's his fucking fault...
even though I want to forget the stupid challenge and him to look an another person..
I wished I haven't followed him.
"IT'S ALL YOUR FUCKING FAULT FOR THIS NONSENSE." I snapped at him.
The bumbling fool then sighs heavily and tilts his head back as his neck glows from the phone light.
"Don't worry, just be patient." He shot back.
"EXCUSE ME??" I growled.
"You heard me peanut." He closes his eyes and pinches the bridge of his nose.
I burst into tears as I curled up into a ball, weeping silently.
The elevator suddenly creates a booming impact as it freaked a bit. I shrieked, scooting closer to him and yanked him by the arm as I covered my face in his arms. "Don't you dare move." I shivered.
He then shrugs, looking at the time.
So far, we've stayed in for almost two hours, no one to call.
Curse this.
I stood up, scuffing back to my spot and sat.
The lights suddenly flickers as it tries to turn on, but it never worked.
I yawned and stare at him. Sitting patiently as I tap my fingers on my lap.
My parents are SO going to kill me.. it's a school night! I shouldn't done this.
What are they going to do?
Without me until this impure bloody boxed elevator to open.
"It's all my fault.. everything.." I yawned, smacking my mouth.
Kevin stares longingly at me, ran through his hair and sighed. "No, it's my fault. Don't blame yourself.. the stupid bet, the game." He slightly cracked a smile.
Since when?
He's lying, I'm definitely sure.
"What bet?" I asked.
"Well, Bryan and Peter doesn't want me to go against with you and dared me to do this.. in order to forget the challenge." He rubbed his neck.
"Really?"
He nods slowly.
I clicked my tongue and sat in silence, feeling quite weird.
My eyes widen and as I creak up a bit, it suddenly makes a BANG!
I jolt up with a sprung! Scooting closer to him, and shuddered."If you move again, you're dead meat." I growled.
Felt my eyelids getting heavier than the pouring rain, I then suddenly knocked out into my dream slumberland.
Earlier...
I arrived at the shop, when the three other employees serving gelato and fresh cups of sherbets. I loved the smell of vanilla hint around the scented shop. I stood still, awaiting for the manager.
"Hey!" The other employee stood at the cashier with his big black eyes smiling as his Carmel skin blends under the light.
"Hey." I grinned.
He's kind of cute.
"So, you're waiting for Jake?" He asks.
I cocked a brow.
Oh, the manager.
"Yeah." I slightly nod, lightly scuffing the floor with a squeak. "He's a great guy, he'll defiently hire you! Trust me." He smiles with his satisfying pearling white teeth and laughed.
Damn, even his teeth is brighter than my future.
Jake came in with an exhausting huff, wiping his neck and face with his handkerchief.
"Oh! Priscilla! Well, shall we start hmm?" He hums a tune and I cocked a brow.
The guy leaning on the cashier, staring at me and gave a thumbs up. "You can do it!" He mouthed his words.
......
We sat in his office and stared at each other for a longer minute, and he spoke.
"So, question number one; we're you born from a different state or just here?"
"Washington State." I said.
"Okay, you came from a great background am I correct?" He smiles.
I nod.
"Your father works in a company with handful of great ownings, your mother works at Forth&Wools, for meetings and knowing the community.. am I right?" He takes out my papers and reads them with a squint, takes out his glasses and followed the sentence.
I nod again.
"Great! By the way you look, a social person and a positive person.." he gestures his hands and tilts with a grin.
"Not negative, always a understandable young lady." I continuing nodding.
"Well, you're hired! You're starting next week or the weekends?" Jake scans his card and let out an 'ohh' expression, giving me a confused stare.
"Next week can be fine." I chirped.
"Great! Priscilla, it's nice to meet you." We shook our hands and waved a cheap goodbye.
I walked out of the office and saw the cute guy, sitting with a drink.
Silence, he finally noticed me and smiles in a respectful way. "Hey again." He croaked, turning off his device.
My insides churn like juice blenders as I sweat nervously. "H-hey." I squeaked.
"Well, wanna sit here?" He pushes a chair as he moves to the other. "I-I'm Okay, thanks anyways." I stuttered. "Oh," He ran through his hair and takes a sip of his drink.
"You in?" He asks with his black innocent eyes, shimmering with excitement.
I twirl my hair and nod with a happy tune. "Yeah, I'm starting next week." I chirped.
"Aw, start this weekend! I'll show you around and you'll meet my friend." He stood up and lightly laughs.
Should I? I AM busy with school and sort of stuff.
........Nah. I'll start this weekend.
"...Okay then." I grinned.
We stared at each other for a longingly minute, clearing my throat and flicked off my hair strand.
"Well, let's talk." He pats on the empty seat, convincingly.
I shrugged and sat next to him with a kooky smile.
"Let's start with the cliché questions; what's your name?" He tilts his head and continues drinking.
"Priscilla." I squeaked.
He then grins. "That's a cute name for a cute girl."
My heart.....
Did he call me cute??
No one has ever called me that before.
"Why thanks." My heart palpitating, I bite my lip and felt his softening eyes pouring at my ridiculousness self.
"What's your name?" I squeaked.
"Louis." He softly smiles.
He's too nice...
I can't take it.
"What's your favorite color?"
"Brown."
"Favorite band?"
"I have plenty.."
Louis nods and pouts little. "Name one."
I fidget my fingers slightly, confused and tap on my chin. "One ya say?"
He nods.
"5 Seconds Of Summer." I shrugged a bit.
His eyes sparkled with happiness and slams his hand on the table as I jolt up.
"Sorry to startle you, I love their songs!" He chuckles.
"Your favorite member?"
"Heck, all of them!" I squeaked.
"Really? Can't you choose one of them??" He cocks a brow and finishes his beverage.
Excuuuussseee meee??
They're so adorable and incredible!
Well...I'll choose one for an example.
"Fine....Ashton.." I giggled like a child.
"Wow, nice choice." He laughs.
"What school you go to?" I asked.
"Lloyd Francis Academy." He pecks the lid and spun with a click.
"Oh.." I sighed.
"What about you?" Louis asks with his hand on mine.
My insides are tingling...
his warm hand on mine..wait what?
GODDAMN CURSE MY HORMONES.
"Madison Bridge High School." I slumped like clay as I go lower into my seat.
Louis cocks his brow with a confused look and taps my shoulder. "Why you're acting like that?"
"Acting like what?" I mumbled as a young child.
"That." Louis points at my ridiculous behavior and ran through his hair, laughs so contagiously.
I choked on my spit as I coughed with a hiccup.
"You fine?" He pulls me up and tilts slightly.
I smiled with a kooky sigh and felt my phone buzzing crazily as I peek through it when I click to silent mode.
"Well, my break's over. See you this weekend?" He cocks a brow and pats on my shoulder.
"Yeah, see you." I grinned.
We parted ways and I stormed into the parking lot, calling Lyft.
Luckily, I've found a nearby one that was honking loudly. "Hop in!" The cheerful man chuckles.
"Sure."
......
"Okay, that's twenty dollars and five cents." He taps on his phone and I hand him the money.
I step into my lofty house and hear a clatter from the kitchen with a clicking of familiar footsteps.
My mother stood in the way and dusts off the white floury powder as she smile she at me. "So? Got your job?"
I nod and waltz into the kitchen when I swipe a drink from the counter.
My mother then follows me behind and smiles the toothiest of all. "So, want dessert? I've made a lot and hoping you'd like some."
She takes out the brownies, the terrific smell caught me off guard.
"Well, is there more??" I grinned.
My mother nods rapidly and said, "There's a lot! I've to-:"
"What are you doing?" She set her hands on her hips.
I quickly stuff the hot piping brownies in a huge bowl and snatched a bowl of ice cream, trotting into my room.
"EATING." I shot back.
I slammed the door and gently place the goodies nearby my bed as I take out my laptop and began watching Netflix.
The stupid date that bumbling fool asked me is almost near..
I shrugged and began to bite off the gooey chocolate and laughed crazily.
"It's too good." I muffled and swipe a munch of a cookie. I felt the vibrating of my phone as I huffed loudly, rolling off my mattress.
Regan's name popped from my screen when I answered her calls.
"Hey Priscilla." She groans with a yawn.
"Heya." I croaked, taking a humongous bite of my dessert.
Her sighs lasted for a minute and suddenly spoke. "You know Jayden?"
Jayden was Reagan's crush back in the days, she would be all obsessed of his looks during our sophomore year.
"He asked me out for the upcoming fall dance!" She squeals loudly.
I rolled my eyes, shoving a brownie in my gigantic mouth. "Oh, really?" I muffled.
"Yes!" She hisses.
Sighing, I pick at my nails and ran through my hair. "Your birthday's coming up next month! I forgot." She squeaks.
I take a sip of my beverage and smiles kooky. "Aren't you gonna come?" I asked.
Reagan abruptly sounds an 'ummmm' as I stood up, pacing back and forth.
"There's a break during the November..how about that time, yeah?" She hums a tune.
"That's so long.." I groaned and chewed my last brownie so slowly as I swipe a cup of water.
"Don't worry, it's not that far." Reagan lightly laughs.
I heavily sighed and flicked the cap and plopped on my bed, staring at the ceiling.
I glare at the time.
It's seven..
I sprung up and gasped, rummaging through my bag when Reagan calls on my numerously.
"Priscilla.. Priscilla.. PRISCILLA!" She shrieked when I jolt up, feeling my heart palpitating crazily.
"Goddammit." I cursed with a squeak and stayed silent when Reagan bickers through the phone.
Sighing, I changed into my shorts and shirt, along with a Cardigan.
"Gotta go." I shot back.
"Why?" She says it convincingly.
I huffed, clenching my phone with a crack amidst from my knuckles. "Busy." I croaked.
I stomped downstairs to the door until my parents startled me. "Where you going?" My father taps his foot with a thump.
I swallow thickly and squeaked. "Going out." I flinched.
They turned to each other, arched their brows and snicker with a bubbly laugh.
"With whom?" My mother asks.
I'm not telling who.. just with a friend...
come on Priscilla, say with a friend.
"With Wendy." I blinked rapidly.
"Oh, okay." She shrugs and nudges my father.
"Come back at ten! You have school." My father shouts.
I stood outside checking the time as I feel the soft breeze running through my bangs.
I tilt my head and waited quietly.
Finally, Kevin came. I leaped in the passenger seat, buckling my belt.
We stayed in silence and Kevin clears his throat. He then grins ever so devilishly and the lights flashed bright green, gassing the car faster than before.
I shrieked, holding the chair onto my dear life, I stared at Kevin as he smirks at me.
What a prude!
I swear, this is gonna be the death of me.
God rest my soul.
Bless me and forgive myself.
I growled at him and grabbed onto the wheel, smacking him behind the back hardly and swished to the stop light.
He cursed under his breath, glaring at me.
"Well, that was fun." He laughs and I shoved his face, squishing against the wheel. The car blare with a honk! Louder than anything.
"MHPH-:" He waves his arms crazily and surrenders.
I smirked, cracking my knuckles and fold my arms.
"One more time, you're dead." I growled intensely.
"Fine.." he mutters.
Present
I woke up, smacking my lips with thirst and saw Kevin, sleeping. Quietly, I raised my upper body up, looking at the time.
Two in the morning.
Stuck in this cursed elevator..
Please show a miracle God, I'm waiting ever so patiently.
School's almost near..
I can't miss another day.
I poked him and felt the damp liquid from his shoulder.
I grossed out a bit and notice with a silent laugh.
Oh wait, that's my drool...
or was that his??
Sighing, I stood up. Staring at his sleep position.
Kevin's hair ruffled over his brows and sleeping like a bear, shifting from left to right.
I knelt closer to him, brushing his face along with my fingers.
"sTaWpH PeAnUt.." he groans, pouting like a child.
I snicker silently and sighed.
I continued brushing my fingers against his face, along his jawline. He flinches and suddenly open his eyes, squinting ever so annoyingly.
"Quit it." He hisses.
"What? I'm bored." I slumped and squeak highly.
"Then do something else." He barks.
"There's nothing to do ya bumbling fool. We're stuck in this box, what you expect me to do?" I cock a brow.
He clenches his mouth shut, sliding away to the corner and sat there, in silence.
"It's freaking three in the morning." I mumble with a defeated huff. Kevin stares at me and suddenly stood up, walking closer to me.
"It's no use." He peers at my tiny self and slightly frowned.
We sat on the floor, staring at the blank and empty cornered walls.
"This is the worst 'dinner' ever." I scoffed.
He sat next to me, and slumped. "You got that right." He breathes as his nose flares.
I felt his head leaning on my shoulder with a defeating thud.
"Don't tell anyone about this, or else." Kevin said.
I glance at him, and slightly scoffed. "I won't."
......
We stayed in silence, the flickering lights buzzing. I then clear my throat, Kevin looking at me.
"Do you believe in God?" I croaked.
"Well definitely, why?" He cocks a brow.
"Why Life's so hard? And why God is testing us in this hellish world?" I sighed heavily, sitting with my legs close to my chest.
I hated how life can be such a pain in the ass, leaving from your hometown and start a slice of life here is also terrible.
San Diego is a beautiful city with many wonders and great tourist places to go.
I'm not a fan of them, if Reagan joined with me before summer vacation ended, I swear I would've had a great time with her.
Kevin bites his inner cheek, wrapped his arm on my shoulder. "It's according to the way you're living, to me, it feels like an adventure searching high and low."
I glared at his arm around my back and shift away from him. "What do you mean?"
"Well, I know life can be a dick but remember, if you're going through hard moments, good things will happen to you at the end. Plus, you're peanut." He grins.
I rolled my eyes and huff with a deadpanning expression. "I have a name you know."
"Nah, you're peanut. Always hungry, feisty and.."
"And what?"
He then sighs and rolls to the corner. "Never mind then."
We sat quietly, shifting from side to side uncomfortably. Mumbling under my breath angrily and depressed, the elevator immediately flickers on, the place moving up.
We shook with happiness and relief, stood up and stayed as quiet as mice.
The door finally opens with workers holding their tools, flashing lights at us.
"You Guys Okay?" One worker asks worriedly.
"Y-Yeah.." We both respond unison.
Suddenly, my parents came out of nowhere, holding their phones with their lights on with two other people stood beside my parents, tapping their foots furiously.
"WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN KEVIN!" A lady wipes her tears and hugs the living daylights out of him.
"WE WERE WORRIED SICK ABOUT YOU." A man fumbles in his pockets, taking the car keys out and points at him.
My parents growled intensely at me and flared their nostrils like boars. "You said you were at Wendy's, why are you here?" My mom roars at me.
"I-I......." I flinched.
Kevin lightly nudges me and closes his eyes with a solemn glare.
"It's all my fault, don't blame on pea- I mean Priscilla." Kevin sighs.
My parents cocked their heads closely at him. "We thought you were much behaved young man." My mom squints.
Kevin's mother pushes my mom and gasps dramatically. "Don't you talk to my son like that!"
They bickered crazily as screeching birds and our fathers coughed awkwardly.
"We have a lot to talk about with you guys." My father clenched his phone tightly.
That moment, was when I completely knew I'm done with life.
*Gasps dramatically*
ERHMAHGURD..
That sounded cringing. Ain't that right?
*crickets chirping*
