Davina was in the middle of setting up for a spell in the attic where she used to live by laying down a salt circle around two chaise lounges. Once she was finished, she began to explain what she was about to do to Josh and Ophelia, who seems very wary of what she was planning, "So, it's really just a simple suspension spell. The poison stops my heart, and the spell keeps me from dying for good," She paused, turning to Ophelia, "And Ophelia, you will be coming with me. And what we'll be doing to get you to come with me is have Josh stake you with the special stake you brought, since we've learned lately that you truly are immortal."
"Cool," Josh sarcastically responded, "Yeah, now I'm totally on board. Uh, just except for the part about the poison, your heart, and whatever you said at the end there about dying and me staking Ophelia."
Davina sighed deeply, giving Josh a pleading look, "Josh, the witches won't even look at me, let alone help me. If I'm gonna find out if that spell really works, I need to go to the only witch I trust besides Ophelia, and that would be Kol."
"Wait, you mean your a dead original vampire boyfriend who is currently stuck in witch-purgatory along with all the other dead spirits who shunned you?" Ophelia suddenly spoke up in a sarcastic tone, "Sure, D. That sounds like a fantastic idea! What could possibly go wrong?"
"Relax, both of you! I'm just gonna pop over and pop back. Easy. If Ophelia comes, I'll be fine," She paused for a brief moment, just before continuing on, "All I need to do is channel your power, Josh."
Josh gaped at her in shock and exasperation, "No. Uh-uh. No, no, no," She shook his head in disapproval, walking closer to Davina, "You see this foot, Davina? This is me putting it down for once, okay? For your own good. And I know for a fact Ophelia is going to side with me."
Just then, Davina got woozy and stumbled, causing both Josh and Ophelia to rush forward to catch her before she fell on the ground, "Oh...Easy," Josh warned her as he steered her over to the chaise lounge to sit her down when he realized what was really going on, causing him to scoff, "Uh, and you already took the poison, didn't you?" He questioned and Davina remained silent, "For the record, if you looked up 'uncool' in the dictionary, there would just be a tiny drawing of what's happening right now."
Davina looked at him pleadingly, and Josh finally relented, "What do I need to do?"
Davina weakly picked up a knife before taking his hand and slicing his palm open. She then sliced her own palm as well. Ophelia remained silent, holding her own hand out. Davina quickly sliced Ophelia's palm before the trio all linked hands.
"Whatever happens, don't let go, okay?" Ophelia reminded Josh, even though she still looked hesitant, "You're our link to the living."
Josh nodded his head as he grabbed the black stake Ophelia held out for him, "Do it," She insisted in a demanding done.
Josh took a deep breath, closing his eyes for a moment before finally staking a heart.
Ophelia let out a large gasp, quickly grabbed onto Josh's hand before she began to desiccate.
As Ophelia slowly died, Davina finally stopped fighting the effects of the poison and closed her eyes while Josh looked at her and Ophelia worriedly, continuing to clutch both of their hands in his own.
Ophelia and Davina opened their eyes to find they had successfully made it to the Ancestral Plane. The two females shared a glance before sitting up on the chaise lounges.
Ophelia looked around the attic for a moment before standing to her feet and heading for the door with Davina following close behind.
After a moment, Davina turned back to see Josh staring at her own body and Ophelia's with concern, looking to be overwhelmed by how surreal the scene looked.
After a moment, she quietly called out to him, "Josh?"
"He can't hear you, D," Ophelia reminded Davina in a calm tone, "It's called a purgatory by some for a reason."
Davina turned to Ophelia, a curious look on her face as they walked out of the attic together, "Have you ever been here before?" She asked Ophelia curiously.
"Yes," Ophelia responded and unbeknownst to Davina, she began to tense up at the memories of the last time she had been there.
"When you die, would you come here?" Davina asked Ophelia yet another question and the female tribrid seemed a bit annoyed but tried her best not to show it.
"I stopped practicing Ancestral Magic the second I aligned with the Mikaelsons three hundred years ago," Ophelia informed Davina, who sighed in response.
"Look, Ophelia, I'm sorry about Jackson--" Davina began to give her condolences to Ophelia, but the female tribrid ended up cutting her off.
"No offense, Davina. But I didn't come here to talk about Jackson. I came here to help you and make sure you don't get your ass killed."
Davina tried her hardest not to look hurt by how rude Ophelia was being toward her. Ophelia was never rude to her. She was always nice. She respected Davina's choices and allowed her to be her person, unlike Marcel, but at that moment, she felt as though Ophelia was furious with her, "Are you mad at me?" She asked Ophelia in concern, her voice fragile and hurt.
"No, but I am disappointed that you're aligning yourself with the Strix," Ophelia replied, turning to Davina, "I thought you were smarter than that, Davina. The Strix are selfish and will kill anyone to get what they want, even their own people. They also kill really good people, people that have done nothing to wrong them in any way."
A sad looked grew on Davina's face, knowing Ophelia was talking about Jackson, "I'm sorry," She apologized to her softly and Ophelia simply nodded before opening the main doors to Saint Anne's Church to leave.
As they made it outside, it was night time in Ancestral Limbo, and both Davina and Ophelia looked nervous as they walked down the abandoned streets of the French Quarter together. Ophelia glanced around anxiously, making sure their presence hadn't been noticed by any of the dead witch spirits.
She knew for a fact that the Ancestral Plane was the last place they wanted to be, especially after everything the two of them had done to wrong the Ancestors.
Davina was a harvest girl who aligned with Marcel and Ophelia over her own people. She then became Regent and ordered Ophelia and Hayley to kill some of her own people. She was then shunned, which kicked her out of the coven.
Then, there was Ophelia. The one who really shouldn't have been there. Especially after the last time, she took a trip to the Ancestral Plane.
Three hundred years before, she had been conceived and born to make peace between the Crescent Wolves and the nine covens of New Orleans. Her father was Regent at the time and her mother was Alpha to the Crescents. Her birth made a union between the two factions in New Orleans.
But then came the arrival of the Mikaelsons. As she grew older, being raised learning what it was like to be a New Orleans witch and also a Crescent Wolf, Ophelia became curious about the Mikaelsons.
And soon after meeting Klaus Mikaelson, she fell in love. Klaus fell in love as well. Time passed and Ophelia's magic grew out of hand because of her werewolf side. The factions knew she would die soon enough because of the magic consuming her from the inside.
Soon enough, a war started between the three factions, and Ophelia's father and the rest of the nine covens in New Orleans knew that it was time to do what they had been waiting to do since Ophelia's birth.
When she was twenty-one, they turned her into the first immortal hybrid that wasn't part vampire. She was a hybrid that was both a witch and a werewolf. She was able to turn at will even without a moonlight ring and she had more magic inside of her than any of the witches around her. The immortality given to her didn't just make her powerful, it saved her life. If they hadn't gifted her immortality, she would have died. That was the thing. The majority of children conceived between a witch and a werewolf rarely ever survived. It was a crime against nature. A child wasn't supposed to be both. Ophelia had been one out of probably thirty to ever survive after being born.
After becoming immortal, the werewolves and witches tried to prep Ophelia for battle against the Mikaelsons. Little did they know, she was seeing Klaus Mikaelson behind everyone's back. She was already married to a man named Archibald during that time and had children with him. Her two children were only werewolves and seemed to not have received the witch trait like their mother.
Being with Klaus, it made Ophelia feel protected and loved. Archibald was a drunk and was practically a psychopath who beat Ophelia whenever he got mad, which happened to be a lot.
And when it was time for the fight against the Mikaelsons, the werewolf and witch factions were shocked to find Ophelia standing on the Mikaelson's side. After that had happened, the witches and werewolves were forced to stand down and submit to the new King and Queen of New Orleans, knowing that they had no chance against the Mikaelsons if they had Ophelia on their side.
Years passed and the witches grew to hate Ophelia for everything she did alongside Klaus to wrong them. The werewolves remained unharmed by Ophelia. She always had a stronger connection to them than she did with the witches. One day, Ophelia was forced to pay a visit to the wolves.
Her mother begged her to stay and Ophelia ended up losing control of her powers. She ended up killing her mother. Suddenly, Ophelia was able to revive her mother with a small incantation.
After doing so, she fled the bayou and never returned for over three hundred years. Her mother and the rest of the wolves remained hopeful that she would return and become their queen.
The witches, on the other hand, hated Ophelia after betraying them. Her father, unlike her mother, grew to hate Ophelia as well. One night, he tried to stand up against Ophelia. Ophelia was forced to fight back and in doing so, she ended up killing her father in self-defense.
Since then, her war solely against the witches became worse and worse.
Just then, Ophelia was suddenly snapped out of her thoughts of the past when she noticed a shadowy figure rushing out of the alley before they grabbed both her and Davina by the arm and pulling them into the alley with them.
Davina became terrified and started to struggle against the mysterious person. Not knowing who it was, Ophelia used her magic to cause the man to go flying. She was shocked for a moment, clearly not knowing that her magic was back.
"Get away from her," Ophelia growled at the person angrily.
Just then, Davina and Ophelia saw that it was Kol, in his original body. Ophelia immediately lowered her hand as Kol got back on his feet, becoming frantic as he tried to calm her down, "Easy now, easy now! Don't take off my head." He tried to calm down the two women.
Ophelia and Davina shared a look with each other before turning to look at Kol in surprise and relief, though a part of Ophelia felt as though seeing Kol was just a trick being played on her and Davina by the Ancestors somehow.
"Kol?" Davina questioned the male original in shock.
Kol smiled widely at Davina, glancing between her and Ophelia, clearly happy to see both of them, "Come on, you don't recognize this roguish grin? I guess my true face is just too handsome."
Ophelia scoffed loudly, "You wish," She commented quietly, causing Kol to playfully roll his eyes at her.
Davina nervously laughed, "You certainly sound like Kol Mikaelson."
"Oh, Davina Claire..." Kol trailed off, opening his arms and pulling Davina into a tight hug as he smiled, clearly thrilled to see his long-lost girlfriend.
He pulled away from Davina and turned to Ophelia, who smiled as she walked over to him. Immediately after she walked over, Kol tightly hugged her, "Oh, you are a sight for bleary and battered eyes! The two of you are also stark raving mad," He remarked as he and Ophelia pulled away from each other, "Do you have any idea what would happen if the Ancestors found you here..." He paused, gesturing his hand toward Ophelia, "Especially since you brought Ophelia, of all people, here?"
Just as Kol finished speaking, the streetlights around them started to flicker and buzz with electricity, which made Kol extremely concerned as he shared a worried glance with Ophelia, "Come on. We can't stay here."
Kol grabbed Ophelia and Davina by the hand and pulled them away so that they could take cover somewhere safe.
