Ophelia woke up with a groan, covered in blood and bruises, to find that she and Jackson had been chained up in the back of an unknown auto shop, one that she didn't recognize at all. She looked around, letting out a sigh in defeat. It was never-ending trauma for her, to say the least.
"I don't ever get a break, do I?" Ophelia muttered under her breath, looking down to find that her wrists and ankles were shackled, locked in chains to the chair she sat on. Same went for Jackson, who was shackled to the wooden chair next to her.
Ophelia turned her head, only to find IV bags filled with clear fluid. Ophelia recognized the liquid to be Wolfsbane by the scent. That was why she felt so weak. Wolfsbane was being pumped into both herself and Jackson.
Almost immediately, Ophelia tried to break through her restraints to save them, but Jackson, who clearly woke up before her and whose face was beaten and bloodied as well, weakly tried to stop her, speaking up quietly. "I tried that," He informed her, only to watch as Ophelia attempted to escape another way, "I tried that. The more you struggle, the more wolfsbane gets pumped into your veins. You won't be able to perform magic either. The Wolfsbane will make sure of that. It breaks your concentration."
Ophelia stared down at the floor, her eyes widening in alarm as she was Jackson's pant leg was stained crimson red and that a huge puddle of blood surrounded his foot on the floor, "Oh, my God!" She exclaimed in shock, her eyes wide as she turned to her husband, "Jack, your leg."
"Yeah, they worked me over pretty good. With all the..." He trailed off weakly, letting out a shaky breath, "The wolfsbane in my system, I ain't healing so well."
Ophelia glanced around anxiously, clearly trying to think up a plan, "Just breathe, alright," She attempted to convince him, determination in her tone, "When we get a chance, be ready to fight. There's no way we're dying in this shit hole."
Jackson gave Ophelia a deeply saddened look as she continued to try to break free of her chains, despite the increasing amounts of wolfsbane being infused through her body every time she did so, "Ophelia," He called out, but ended up being ignored, "Ophelia, listen," He paused, watching as Ophelia slowly turned to look him directly in the eyes, which were welled with tears, "I don't know if I'm gonna get that chance--"
"Stop," Ophelia cut him off in a stern tone, a cold look on her face, "We are going get out of here, Jackson. I know it. As I said, there's no way I'm letting us die here. We've been through too much to allow ourselves to die like this."
"I love you. Okay?" Jackson suddenly confessed, causing Ophelia to turn to him, tears filling her eyes once more as she became consumed with guilt, "I've...I've always loved you, Ophelia."
"Don't--" Ophelia cut him off, shaking her head as she spoke in a pleading tone.
"The first time I ever saw you...That night at the party Hayley held for the Crescents...I broke. We've all heard the legends about you, but when I saw you that night, I completely broke. You broke me, and nothing has ever been the same since. I just want you to know that it was all real. Every moment, every touch, every word I've said to you."
Ophelia was absolutely devastated by how defeated Jackson sounded and she tried her best to hide how guilty she looked.
Just then, Tristan walked into the room, which caused Ophelia to become consumed with another emotion. Rage.
"How absolutely darling! Or pathetic," Tristan remarked, causing Ophelia to turn to him with a furious look on her face, "I suppose it's all the same though."
Ophelia glared at Tristan with hatred and continued to try and break out of her restraints as he walked toward them.
"You let us out of here, right now or so help me God, I will torture and kill you in ways not even your vindictive mind can't even imagine," She growled at him angrily, "Or perhaps I'll start with your sister."
"Hmm. Somehow, I doubt that," Tristan hummed in response, looking to be amused by her threat, "You know, I was so struck by your beauty when I saw for the first time at the Strix Gala. But now, after seeing how tangled up you are with Mikaelsons, more specifically Klaus, I've realized you're nothing but a hot mess."
"My apologies. It seems you've mistaken me for your freakshow sister," Ophelia responded, showing to be unbothered by his comment about her, "As I look at your relationship with your sister, I wonder, do you love your sister in ways a brother shouldn't love his sister?"
She smirked, noticing the angered look on Tristan's face. She clearly hit a nerve.
Tristan glared at Ophelia for a moment until he finally walked over to Jackson, "You know, Ophelia, I've been pondering this moment for a while..." He trailed off and Ophelia tried even harder to break out of her shackles, "You could've been apart of the Strix. I was going to ask you to join the night of the Gala, it's the reason I invited you. But instead, you publicly humiliated me in front of everyone when you left with that peasant Lucien and Klaus. And I know I can't hurt you, but what's the best way to truly hurt an immortal tribrid? And then it came to me..."
Just then, Tristan grabbed Jackson by his hair and yanked his head back so he could plunge his hand into Jackson's chest at vampire speed, causing Jackson to groan in pain as Ophelia screamed at the top of her lungs, "No! No! Please! No!" She pleaded, continuing to scream.
Tristan ripped out Jackson's heart, killing him, and Ophelia became utterly hysterical with fury and grief, desperately trying to break out of her shackles to kill him, "No! No! Ah! No!" She screamed at the top of her lungs as Tristan let go of Jackson's head and stared at Ophelia in satisfaction as she continued to scream hysterically.
It was all her fault. If she had shut her mouth, he wouldn't be dead. If she had never married him in the first, he wouldn't have been dead. If she had never met him, he wouldn't be dead.
_____
Hours had past and Ophelia, who was still sobbing after Jackson's death, had been left alone in the room with his dead body, which was still sitting chained up in the chair next to her. She looked over at him and was overwhelmed with grief once again, "Jack, I'm so sorry," She cried, "I never should have brought any of this into your life. It was unnecessary and the worse mistake I've ever made. I was being selfish when I married you. I used you as a distraction. You did nothing but love me and treat me like a queen. I never met anyone who was always just there for me the way you were, no matter how much I tried to push you away. You were always there. It's my fault you're dead. Everything bad that's happened to you for the past two years has been my fault. I allowed you into my life, knowing the consequences and look at how it ended up," She paused, starting to choke up a sob once more.
Suddenly, she stopped crying. Ophelia's entire face went cold, no emotion but pure hatred shown in her facial expression, "But I know one thing for sure, Jackson. I am going to make sure all of them pay for this, I give you my word. I will make every last one of them suffer until they are all dead, starting with Tristan. I am going to make sure he dies a slow and painful death. One that will have him begging me to end it quickly."
Ophelia no longer looked sad by Jackson's death, she looked almost emotionless. For weeks now, she had gone through hell, starting with the night of the Strix Gala. Since then, she never had most than twelve hours to recover from the last attack.
But now, she was done letting those vampires break her. Jackson's death reminded her that she's Ophelia freakin' Rose. The woman who was stronger than practically everyone around her. The only person even the Mikaelsons truly feared after their father's death. She wasn't some random woman, she was the queen of New Orleans, even after she supposedly stepped from her position months before. And she was finally going to prove to everyone that she wasn't someone to mess with.

At Patrick's dock, Elijah and Klaus were waiting inside of the warehouse when a half-dozen Strix vampires vamp-sped into the room. The brothers started to walk toward them as another few dozen or so vampires joined them, "Here they come."
Finally, Tristan, Aya, and Marcel stopped several feet away from the Mikaelson brothers, looking displeased as they all stared at each other, "Gentlemen. I wish I could say it was a pleasure." Tristan greeted the two Original brothers.
Klaus nodded in acknowledgment and gave Marcel a knowing look, "Marcellus," He greeted his adoptive son, "Made your bed with the enemy, I see."
Marvel smiled fakely at Klaus, "Membership has its privileges." He responded sarcastically.
Klaus smirked at the ground, "Let's get on with this, shall we?" He told the group of vampires, "Hand Ophelia over before I tear each and every one of you apart without blinking."
Tristan sent Klaus an amused smiled before he turned back to a tall, blonde vampire woman. He nodded at her, so she and the other male vampire brought the still-bloodied and shackled Ophelia forward.
The female tribrid was so weak she couldn't even stand on her own, and when the vampires let go of her, she collapsesd onto the floor in between the two groups as Elijah and Klaus stared at her in horror.
Klaus got ready to forward to retrieve her, but Elijah quickly grabbed his brother by the arm and gave him a warning look, "Ophelia Rose-Kenner, only slightly worse for wear. You'll have to forgive her if she seems a bit off. There's enough wolfsbane in her system to kill not one, but almost two entire packs. However, here she is, as requested," Tristan explained to the two men, slyly smiling, "Now, where's my sister?"
"She lives. You can thank Elijah for that." Klaus sneered at Tristan as he walked toward Tristan so they were standing eye-to-eye, "I wanted to flay her and hang her skin as a flag after finding out about you kidnapping Ophelia," He paused, sadistically smiling at Tristan, "Anyway, enough chit-chat. Let's conclude this tedious business, shall we?"
Tristan walked closer to Klaus, glaring at him, "My sister first. And, if you're tempted to argue, consider the numbers."
Klaus smirked in amusement and walked even closer to him so that their noses were nearly touching, indicating that he was not at all threatened by his army.
Tristan looked slightly nervous, but stood his ground. After a moment, Klaus rolled his eyes and walked over to a rusty green shipping container, which he opened to reveal Aurora to be sitting inside with a black hood over her head and her wrists bounded behind her back.
Tristan, still suspicious, turned back to Aya, "If they try anything, attack."
Aya nodded in agreement, and Tristan vamp-sped into the shipping container toward Aurora. He took off her hood, and her head rolled on her shoulders, still sedated from the drugs earlier.
When Tristan looked back at Aya, Aya nodded at the vampires standing guard over Hayley, allowing Klaus and Elijah to take her. Quickly, Klaus caught Ophelia in his arms before she could fall to ground. He kissed the top of her head, but Ophelia was practically limp in his arms.
Aurora woke up when Tristan started to break her bonds and smiled at him weakly, "Oh, brother, you came for me."
Tristan smiled back at Aurora, "Always."
By that time, Ophelia had passed out and when she woke, Klaus had explained to her all that had happened. It wasn't actually Aurora who was in the shipping container, it was Cami using a glamour. They had placed Serratera in the container, causing Tristan to be locked in alone. Cami was able to pass through because she was technically neither.
And before the Strix could attack them, Marcel had convinced to leave without a fight, which led to where they were now.
Now, the Mikaelson brothers, along with the slowly healing Ophelia, walked over to the shipping container to talk to Tristan, who seemed resigned to his fate, "So, this is to be my end?" He questioned the trio curiously.
Elijah smiled at him patronizingly, and Klaus smirked as he leaned against the door of the container. However, Ophelia continued to scowl at him with pure hatred and fury, "No, no. This is the very beginning! You are going to the bottom of the ocean, where you will drown in darkness again and again and again over the course of centuries."
As Elijah spoke, a tear rolled down Ophelia's cheek as she remembered the fact that Tristan had killed Jackson, "This will be your splendidly horrific and perpetual end." He told Tristan.
"What have you done with my sister?" Tristan asked Elijah and Klaus anxiously.
Just as Klaus was about to speak up, Ophelia spoke instead, "Nothing..." She trailed off, walking closer to Tristan, "Yet. But, I assure you, her death will be slow, painful, and absolutely specatacular. Think about that while you're dying over and over; That your sister will be tortured by me non-stop all because of what you did," She paused and Tristan looked even more worried once hearing her words.
When Elijah and Klaus went to close the door, Ophelia stopped them, "Wait, who said I was done?" She asked the two men, causing Klaus' eyes to light up in surprise as he gave her somewhat of an impressed look.
Ophelia walked even closer to Tristan so that she could look him straight in the eye, "Today, you took an amazing, good-hearted man from this world. And for as long as live, I will carry him with me, but you?" She asked, letting out a large laugh, "You, Tristan De Martel, will be forgotten within weeks after you're dropped into the ocean. And as you rot in the ocean, remember my face," She reached over to grab the shipping container door and began to close it, "Because it's gonna be the last one you ever see. Have a nice time sleeping with the fishes. You may not be able to sleep at night, but I sure as hell will."
Ophelia glared at him angrily as she closed the door to the crate, Tristan begging them for mercy.
______
Night had fallen, and Ophelia, dressed all in black, was sitting on the porch of her old shack, where she was writing the name "Jackson Kenner" into the Labonair Bible left to her and Hayley by Eve two years before. After a moment, Hayley approached her from behind and placed her hand on the woman's shoulder, "It's time, O," She told her best friend in a soft tone.
Ophelia took a deep breath and shut the Bible before she stood up to head to the funeral. Once at the lake, Hayley took a torch from one of the Crescent wolves and held it while she and Ophelia said their goodbyes to Jackson.
Ophelia sadly looked down at his body, which was wrapped in white sheets and was rested on a wooden boat as per Crescent tradition. She began to cry as she covered his face with the sheet. She grabbed a bottle of whiskey and stared at it intently for a long moment.
She hadn't had a single sip of it since the day she found out about herself being pregnant. That was over six months before. Now, she wasn't pregnant and she was no longer married, both of which she was at fault for. Well, that was what she believed.
After a moment, Ophelia took a large swig of it before she poured the rest of it on Jackson's body. She turned to take the torch from Hayley. The female hybrid watched Ophelia silently take it and set his body ablaze,
"You will never be forgotten," She whispered softly as the boat was set onto the lake, where Jackson was given the traditional Viking funeral while all of his friends and family watched mournfully.
As Ophelia turned to her, Hayley quickly wrapped her arms around the woman as she cried. She was crying because of Jackson's death, but there was something she was crying even more about. Guilt.
She felt utterly guilty because just before they were kidnapped that day, she was getting ready to tell him that she wanted to be with Klaus. Now, look at them. Jackson was dead. A part of her was relieved though. That they never got to have the conversation. Jackson died knowing that Ophelia did love him. There was no time for her to have said anything else, which did relieve her even though it shouldn't have.
AN: Tbh Ophelia did this to herself 🤷🏻♀️
