Ophelia's eyes shot open as she let out a large gasp, finding herself laying down in a unenclosed place. The way it felt, she had the inkling that it was the trunk of a car.
Her eyes widened when she found someone else laying beside her. Cami.
"Cami?" Ophelia called out in a hushed tone, grabbing the woman by the arm as she shook her slightly, "Cami!"
After a moment, Cami woke up with a gasp, turning to face Ophelia with wide eyes, "Ophelia?" She frowned in concern, "Ophelia, what's happening? What the hell's going on?"
"If I'm correct, we were just kidnapped by Klaus' ex, Aurora," Ophelia informed in a calm tone.
"What are we going to do?" Cami asked Ophelia, a concerned look on her eyes.
"You know how you trusted me at Lucien's penthouse?" Ophelia questioned Cami, who nodded her head, "Just trust me again."
"What's your plan?" Cami asked Ophelia concerned, causing the tribrid to woman to smile.
"You're going to ast like you're still asleep and when the trunk opens, I'll distract her while you run." She explained, only to hear the car come to a full stop, "Okay, now's our time."
Aurora stepped out of her car and walked toward the back of it. She stood at the trunk for a moment, just before opening the trunk to find Cami and Ophelia laying "unconscious" with Ophelia's fingers now even more desiccated, causing Aurora to smile, "Aw, poor dears! Still sleeping. Well, you two have a big day ahead of you. We should get started."
Aurora smiled even wider as she bent over to pick Ophelia up out of the trunk first. However, before she could even begin to lift her up, Ophelia's eyes shot open before she grabbed the crowbar laying next to her and whacked Aurora upside the face with it.
Aurora screamed in pain as Ophelia and Cami quickly shot out of the car, beginning to run. Cami held onto Ophelia, seeing as the tribrid female seemed to be weak as ever.
The duo ran as fast as they could in the opposite direction of Aurora, but the ancient vampire caught up to them easily and blocked their way, glaring at the duo in annoyance as she did so, "That was not nice."
"Well, if you haven't noticed, I'm not nice," Ophelia responded with an attitude as she glared at Aurora.
Aurora roughly grabbed Ophelia and Cami by the arm, "Okay, the three of us need to have a little heart-to-heart conversation. Come along." She insisted, dragging them back toward the back entrance to the church.
Once inside, the duo found at least a half-dozen men working out in Marcel's fight gym. One was lifting weights at the bench press while another man spotted him, and two other men were sparring inside the cage.
Cami looked terrified as Aurora continued to drag her toward the equipment. Ophelia, on the other hand, kept her poker face on as she glared at Aurora, "What-what are we doing here?" Cami asked Aurora worriedly.
Aurora cheerfully glanced around the room, "I heard a rumor these men train here, hoping to be made into vampires. So, I'm going to grant them their wish." She explained, shoving the two women forward.
Cami quickly turned to face her with a pleading expression, "Wait. Please. I don't know who you are, but if you have a problem with us, fine. Just let them go."
Aurora looked at her in surprise, turning to glance at Ophelia, "Huh. I had assumed you would have told her who I was."
Ophelia clinked her tongue, shrugging her shoulders, "Oops. My bad. I thought you were irrelevant."
Aurora glared at Ophelia angrily before turning to Cami once more, "No matter. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Aurora de Martel," She introduced herself, fake curtsying in front of Cami, who looked confused and scared, unlike Ophelia, who rolled her eyes, "Long-lost love of Niklaus Mikaelson. He and I are having just a little bit of a spat at the moment, as he took my brother captive. Now, it's come to my attention that the two of you are close to him..." She trailed off, pointing to Ophelia, "And you...you are quite precious to him. As my replacement, of course."
Aurora laughed bitterly, "So, I'm taking you. And these 'lovely, delicious, delightful' specimens are going to provide incentive!" She paused, looking over at the men sparring in the ring before turning back to Cami and Ophelia, "Once they're in transition, they'll need to feed." She circled around the two women before brushed Cami's hair off of her shoulders to reveal her neck, "And since you will be the only human blood available... Well, Nik had better give me what I want. And of course, precious Ophelia. From what I've learned these past few days, you're practically loyal to the people closest to you to a fault. I know for a fact you will not run and leave Cami to be killed by these men. You would rather die than let that happen."
Suddenly, Aurora grabbed Ophelia by the hair and shoved her so hard, she collapsed onto the ground. Cami quickly rushed to Ophelia, who seemed to be too weak to even stand up.
While the duo was occupied, Aurora raised her voice to call out to all of the men working out in the gym, "Gentlemen! Come down! Quick, quick. Off you pop!" She called out loudly, clapping her hands for emphasis, and the men reluctantly gathered around her, "Thank you!" She paused, turning to the two shirtless men at the bench press, who stood to join the others, "Hello! You, too! Congratulations. You have all been selected to receive the highest honor bestowed upon your pitiful species."
Ophelia remained sitting on the ground with Cami kneeling next to her. The blonde human turned to Aurora in horror, "Don't do this!"
Aurora looked around at the men for a moment until she finally stopped at a blonde man standing near her. She bit her lips in excitement as she vamp-sped over to him, bit into her wrist, and fed him her blood. As soon as she was sure he ingested enough, she snapped his neck without any warning, causing Cami to flinch before she dropped his body onto the ground.
Aurora then looked at the other men with blood staining her lips and teeth, "Next?"
______
After Aurora had killed every single one of the men, she left their bodies sprawled all over the gym and their mouths smeared with Aurora's blood. Ophelia had a content look on her face as she looked down at the carnage. Cami, on the other hand, looked down at the bodies horrified, causing Aurora to give her a curious look, "It's odd you'd be his therapist. Isn't it true Nik killed your beloved uncle right about..." He trailed off, walking over to the spot where Klaus was forced to kill Kieran two years before, "here?"
Ophelia and Cami shared a look of surprise, clearly uncomfortable with the fact that she knew the information, "Yeah..." Cami trailed off, "It was a mercy-killing."
Aurora smiled as she stripped off her jacket, and Cami continued to stand with her arms crossed over her chest, visibly tense with this situation. Ophelia stood beside her, looking helpless for the first time in her life, "'Mercy.' That is such an odd little word," She paused, clearly interested, "Tell me--was it difficult to watch?"
"Just shut the fuck up already!" Ophelia suddenly blurted out, causing Cami and Aurora to turn to her, "Leave Cami out of this, Aurora. Cami may mean a lot to Klaus as one of his only friends, but I mean way more to Klaus. You don't want her. You want me. Now tell me why you brought us here? Because if you don't get on with it, I'll find ways to ruin your life, even without my powers or my strength. I spent over two hundred years living with the Mikaelsons as family. Trust me, I have the means."
Aurora laughed in amusement, "Hmm. Threatening me when you are powerless? That takes guts," She responded, not seeming fazed by Ophelia's threat, "See, Nik's been obsessed with me for centuries, and now he's infatuated with you."
"Infactuated?" Ophelia scoffed, "We were together for over two hundred years and he's still in love with me. I can't say the same about you."
"What do you think the overlap is between us?" Aurora asked Ophelia, deciding to ignore the comment about Klaus still being in love with her, "Is it...crazy brothers? No, I don't believe you have a brother. Well...Tristan. I love him, but he can be a bit daft sometimes. You know, he likes to have me committed every so often? Hoping to cure my more...eccentric predispositions. Thanks to him, I've been plunged into ice baths, bled for melancholia, and exorcized for demons five--no, six--six times."
"In my opinion, I think you're just a psychotic bitch," Ophelia commented, earning a glare from Aurora.
Aurora growled, vamp speeding over to Ophelia, "I believe it's time Cami and I speak alone," She sneered at Ophelia, taking a syringe out of her pocket before stabbing it into Ophelia's neck.
Ophelia gasped, just before falling to the ground unconscious.
About an hour later, Ophelia woke up with a groan, finding Aurora standing over her, smiling, "Good, you're awake. Get up."
Aurora roughly grabbed the tribrid by the arm and pulled her up at full force, "It was already Cami's turn, now it's yours, love. Tell me your deepest, darkest secret. And if I sense that you are holding back...Well, you might not live long enough for Nik to get here."
Ophelia remained silent, which was clearly leading to Aurora losing her patience, "I will not ask again," She spoke up in a stern tone, "Your greatest shame. Admit it. And do not bother lying, because I will know, and then I will end you."
Ophelia hesitated for a moment before she ended up telling Aurora her secret.
Just after telling her deepest darkest secret, a very unhappy Klaus walked into the room. Ophelia and Cami shared a glance, looking relieved by the sight of him, but when Ophelia tried to rush toward him, dragging Cami along with her, Aurora smirked and turned her back to Ophelia, covering her with her body and pushing the two women backward against the cage with one hand so they couldn't move any closer.
Klaus frowned in confusion when he saw how Ophelia seemed unable to fight back, but then remembered the explanation of the side effects to the poison Lucien had given her. The immortal hybrid spread his arms wide in a gesture of defeat, "Stop this game."
"This is not a game, Nik!" Aurora exclaimed, a sadistic smile on her face, "This is an intervention. You're in danger of losing the love of your life...Me. We're finally together after so long apart, all the world before us, if can just dodge a few minor obstacles. Like this nuisance of a prophecy, my brother's internment, the insufferable influence of Elijah...But what I cannot overcome is your affections for someone else." As she paused, Klaus, looking somewhat bemused, sighed dramatically, "I've waited far too long to share you now."
Klaus, knowing that both Ophelia and Cami were in a lot of danger, tried to carefully navigate the situation so as to not get them hurt in the crossfire. Aurora shrugged, and her voice became softer, "Call me jealous."
Klaus walked toward Aurora, Ophelia, and Cami and continued to make pleasant conversation with the redhead, "I remember full well the extent of your jealousies. But what surprises me is that they extend to the, uh..." He trailed off, gesturing toward Ophelia and smiled, "The lowly tribrid. Aurora, you can't believe she means anything to me."
"But I do believe it, Nik! I see it, the utter fear in your eyes," Aurora responded, gesturing to Ophelia, "Do you actually love her? After everything she's done to you?"
Klaus' eyes widened in alarm, but he was quick to cover it up, "You know I love you."
Aurora looked at him in relief, and the tension left her body as she smiled at him, "I'm so glad you admitted that. I wanted Ophelia to hear it..." She trailed off, vamp-speeding over to the woman.
She grabbed Ophelia in a choke-hold before plunging her other hand into the tribrid's chest, gripping onto her heart. Ophelia gasped for breath, looking down at the hand plunged into her chest.
Aurora turned back to address Klaus with a maniacal smile on her face, "Before I rip her heart out."
Klaus froze for a moment, but he was sure to not to let Aurora see his fear, "Honestly, Aurora...These petty displays are so far beneath you. Wild scavenger hunts, threats against innocent acquaintances...They cast you in a very unflattering light. Jealousy's more my game."
Ophelia tried to keep still, not wanting to move a single muscle in fear of Aurora ripping out her heart, "Oh, would that I didn't have the need for it."
"Why should you?" Klaus questioned, gesturing to Ophelia, "Ophelia is no rival to you. Your fears are ridiculous."
"Nik, I have no doubt that you love me. I was just hurt to learn that you would lower yourself to this distraction for centuries..." She trailed off, jerking Ophelia's body toward him in emphasis, and Ophelia groaned in pain as she swayed on her feet, trying her hardest to not let the redhead pull out her heart, "And particularly when she constitutes a rather fiendish lie."
Klaus frowned in confusion, unsure of what Aurora was talking about, "Go on, love, tell him," Aurora encouraged Ophelia, "Tell him. You and I both know he'll be finding out eventually. Say, in three to four months, if I'm correct."
Ophelia growled at Aurora, gritting her teeth, "Go to hell," She glared at Aurora while Klaus gave Ophelia a concerned look.
"What is she talking about?" Klaus questioned concerned, but Ophelia remained, "Tell me!"
Ophelia was silent for a long moment, feeling hesitant to tell the truth. She opened her mouth, preparing to speak
up.
