It was an early morning. The sun was just on it's way up and it's warm rays were dancing over the place and awaking all living creatures. The birds had begun to twitter softly and silently. Like they slowly wanted to help waking the people there in Asgard.
Two guards was as usually standing outside the entrance of the castle, they had just come and superseded their two comrades that had taken the last part of the night duty.
In New York Loki was sitting in his borrowed cell. His brother, Thor, was getting ready to bring him back to Asgard for his punishment. The others around was just happy to get rid of him. They trusted that Thor, with his father Odin could give him a good punishment.
Sage was standing in the window of her room, and letting the warmth of the sun hit her while she took in deep breaths. She had gotten no sleep the entire night after what she had heard from Frigga the evening before.
Loki was alive, and he had done something terribly wrong. It was Thor that was on his way back with him, together with something Frigga called the Tesseract. A dangerous deity that Loki had used to try to take over Midgard.
It had shocked Sage to hear about it. For almost a year she had believed that he had been gone. Dead. That she had lost him. Then she found out that he had just pretended the entire time. It almost hurt for Sage to know that, but most of all she found it completely riddiculous.
She moved away from the window while she stifled a laugh. It had made her feel almost hysterical. She just wanted to laugh and cry at the same time. Maybe while she was hitting him too. That was how much it had hurt loosing him, and then it hadn't even happened for real.
He really was mental, for years he had done things that Sage had never understood why he had done and now he had pretended to be dead og tried to take over an entire realm. That was completely and utterly stupid. She almost laughed once more, but the pain stopped her. The feeling that he didn't care.
In a way she just wanted to ignore him, but she couldn't stop herself from going to see him when he came. Just once, that might be the last one ever. That hurt, to think about it.
Sage sighed while she started finding something to dress in. She found a pair of simple pants and a shirt. For once she didn't bother to put on formidable clothes and just put on something simple as that. Male clothing, really, but she had them for times when she didn't feel like making something out of herself.
She put her hair up in a tight ponytail and then she took a look at herself in the mirror to make sure she didn't look too horrible. When she was pleased with how she looked she found a pair of shoes and put them on. Then she left her home to wait for him.
She knew very well that he would be put in prison, maybe forever, but she had to see him one last time. She took a deep breath and then she ran on through the garden against the rainbow bridge. The grass crunched under her feet, and the sun was warming her back, almost uncomfortably warm.
It was in this garden that she had seen him the first time, and talked to him. She didn't know if the memory was good or bad anymore. For her it felt almost like both. It had been good times, when everything was so nice, but it had changed now and then it hurt to think back to it.
She saw the big garden come to an end infront of her, and halted before she ran straight out onto the rainbow bridge. It was on it's way to be fully reparated. Thor himself was the one that had destroyed it, to save Asgard from Loki trying to conquer the throne.
That was when it happened, in a flash of blue light two silhouettes appeared. A big and muscular one, and one slender and tall one that actually couldn't be much taller than the other one. Sage knew at once who it was, Thor and Loki.
When she saw him she almost stopped breathing. He was muzzled and was wearing handcuffs. Him and Thor was holding something she had never seen before and then they started walking along the bridge.
Just then they came, what looked like the entire army. All the guards Asgard had to give. They surrounded both, but not before Sage had managed to catch Loki's gaze. He didn't hold it for a second.
All the guards led him away and Thor stood left behind with a given look on his face. It wasn't until then that he discovered her, when he did he only needed to take a couple of steps and the he was over by her. The man was really tall compared to her, even though she wasn't exactly small.
He looked down at her, with pity in his eyes and for a moment she felt like a small child. One that was alone somewhere she couldn't get away from. Sage shivered and then pushed the thought away.
"I'm sorry Sage." Thor said and she just smiled slightly. Like she didn't care about any of it at all. Loki had never been her boyfriend, but he meant something to her. Maybe more than he should.
"That's his own problem." She told him sharply, which was actually quite rude. Thor just sighed while watching her walking away from him with quick steps. Sage didn't want any pity from anyone, not even Thor, that she knew and loved. Then she would rather just pretend it all meant nothing.
It was no one that could make her feel any better now.
The only one was Loki himself, and he was a little out of reach. The point of reaching after him didn't really exist. He had done mischief once again, but this time it was more than before and worse, much worse actually.
Sage knew, because she knew him, that he had killed, or at least hurt lots of people. A little too many. Maybe that was only the beginning, she knew that even though Loki had been egoistic Thor and Odin had been more. They had brought the one that could treathen their throne, back to them.
Mischief himself had returned, and imprisoned or not. That meant that the peace thereby had been revoked.
