Alfred after taking care of emotionally stunt kids for a very long time that rather hit  criminals on the face instead of going to therapy learn how to read the little things that not body else noted.

The first thing that Alfred took note was that master Damián spent more time on the phone. It wasn't something really notorious like if he had it at every single minute of the day but  he did have it on him during meals which was usually a time when he'll try to make conversation with his father — in the odds day when he was around for meal time — and after failing because master Bruce was in fact bound to his phone he would leave with a sour face.

Now he just ignored him the same way and from time to time the corner of his mouth will twitch  like if he wanted to smile which for master Damián was a lot.

The second thing he noted was that master Damián didn't longer complained about the food on the school cafeteria which was odd too because he used to do it everyday and now he didn't say a word about it.

But he did started to ask for some meals, some plates with latin or spanish roots, like tortilla and paella.

Someone was cooking for Master Damián, and however that it was latin or part latin.

Then one day Master Damián told him that a friend — not a classmate, a friend he used that exact word — was coming to the manor to make a school project together, and even when he didn't look specially nervous about it, he did look a bit anxious.

Davina Vittoria was very different from the friends that he usually brought home, for starters he doubted that she was part from their nightly activities and she seem normal.

She was pretty not magazine type of pretty but the kind that you'll find on a coffee shop reading a book and you'll spent the whole hour trying to find the courage to speak with her.

She could probably be more pretty with a bit of make up and the right clothes but by how she acted really nice and cautious around him — a stranger — she probably choose not to and that was a really good choice in Gotham.

"Excuse me" she called him after a while when master Damián was away looking for a specific book for their project.

"Yes?" He asked with a pleasant smile on his face.

"Could you please give some tips about vegetarian food?" She asked with a smile and yes, she was the one cooking for Master Damián.

"Of course" he said happy that master Damián was eating healthy on school.

A couple of weeks later it became normal for Miss Vina — how her friend and family call her — to come to the manor, in the beginning it was because of some school assignment or to do homework together but after a while the excuses stoped but not the visits.

And then one day Miss Davina came with Robin on her back, not master Damián but Robin and all she did was told him that he was an idiot for putting his life on the line like that, and that if something happened to him she would not forgive him or anyone on his family which was pretty fair.

"You are the biggest idiot in the world" Miss Vina said punching master Damián in the arm who was currently on a hospital bed.

"But there was an eme—

"I don't care if the whole world is on fire, or a stupid psycho is threatening with making everybody die a horrible death, I care about you even if you don't, especially because you don't"  she said very serious letting master Damián hold her hand softly "so please for the love of God, take care of yourself and if you don't do it for you, do it for me" she said in a soft tone like a prayer.

"Okay" He agreed kissing the hand of miss Vina with tender care.

"Mhmm" he cleared his throat making the young ones on the room take note of him who was by the door.

"I brought some tea" He said entering the room giving a cup to each of them.

"Thank you Alfred" thanked miss Vina and he just smiled.

"Thanky to you Miss Vina" he told honestly with a smile, sometimes the little things  made the biggest changes and this was a wonderful one.
