Gil was born in the city of Violet Heights. While his family was initially one of the upper-middle class, life would prove more difficult after his father lost his job. At times, money was scarce and life's essentials such as food and soap had to be used sparingly. The tone was often dead and monotonous. As Gil grew older, he eventually grew tougher. This tough demeanor garnered the attention of some of the biggest troublemakers at his high school by the time Sophomore year came around, and Gil joined their "gang". He expresses himself creatively, mostly graffiti around the town, dying his hair blue as a form of artistic expression. He has a sister, Oona, who is just a few months younger than him...
