Prophecy Of Ragnarök

Hey guys. KittyKat4413 I'm sorry! I totally forgot you requested this! So here you go!

This is the story of Ragnarök. Ragnarök tends to translate into 'The twilight of the gods.'. Up until now, and after this story, I will have told you of things have happened long ago. Back when gods still freely walked the other right worlds. This is a story of the future. The Prophecy Of Ragnaök. Legend of our deaths. The final destiny of the gods.

I shall now tell you how it will all end, and then begin once more. These are dark days I will tell you of. Dark days and hidden things. All of them concerning the death of all giants, dishonorable dead of Helheim, dwarves, elves, einherjar of Valhalla, gods, and all but two mortals. Read and you will learn.

This is how we will know that the end is near. Fimbulvetr. It will be far from the age of the gods, in the time of men (and women so nobody thinks I'm sexist -_-). It will begin when the gods all sleep, every god but all seeing Heimdall, in peaceful slumber. Heimdall will watch everything as it begins. He will watch the destiny of the gods unfold, although he will be powerless to prevent it.

It will begin with the winter. This will not be a normal winter. The winter will begin and it will continue winter following winter for about three years. This winter will be known as the Fimbulvetr. There will be no spring. No warmth. People will be hungry. People will be cold. And they will be angry. Great battles will take place all across the world.

Brother will fight brothers, fathers kill sons. Mothers and daughters will be set against each other. Sisters will fall in battle with sisters and watch their children run into battle and murder each other like heavily armed psycho midgets. This will be the age of cruel winds, the age of people who become as wolves who prey upon each other. Wolves who are no better than wild beasts.

Twilight will come to the world and the places where mortals live will fall into ruins, flaming briefly, then falling down and crumbling to ash and devastation.

Then, when the few remaining people are living like animals, the sun in the sky as it has been eaten by a wolf and the moon will be taken from us two. The first deaths of Ragnarök is said to be of Frey's, but no. The first deaths go to the sun and moon gods. Mani and Sol. When they are taken, nobody will be Able to see the stars any longer and the worlds will be plunged into darkness.

After that, there will come the time of the great earthquakes. The earthquakes that ultimately end the bonds of Fenrir the wolf, and that snap the chains of Loki. The mountains will shake and crumble. Trees will fall. Any remaining places where people lived will be destroyed. The earthquakes break all bonds, chains, and fetters. All of them.

Fenrir and Loki, as I said, will escape their captivity. Fenrir will break his bonds. His mouth will gape. His upper jaw will reach the heavens while the lower jaw will touch the earth. There is nothing he cannot eat. There is nothing he will not eat. Flames come from his eyes and nostrils. Where Fenris Wolf walks, flaming destruction follows.

There will be flooding as well, as Ægir brings the tide. Jormungandr, the Midgard serpent, will blast venom into the sea and sky, killing all the fish and all the birds. There will be no more life in the oceans or air. And those who see the brothers Fenrir and Jormungandr, all know death soon after.

Loki goes to his ship Naglfar, the ship of nails. Naglfar is made of the fingernails and toenails of dead men. Loki's troops are the legions of Helheim. The ship is actually led by Hrym the giants follow him, and Loki battles beside them. All the moorings of Naglfar will be cut by Surtr and his flaming sword, so bright no mortal can look upon it.

Only then does Heimdall alert the gods. He blows the Gjallar horn and all the gods wake. The gods, einherjar, and Valkyries leave for the final battlefield known as Vigridr. The giants and other enemies meet there and they all run into battle.

Frey goes straight for Surtr, using a stags born as a weapon. He will fight well, but Frey will not survive. He will die regretting the loss of his sword which he gave for love. Frey is the first Æsir to die.

Odin runs for Fenrir. Thor sees this and smiles. This charges for Jormungandr. The thunder god and the serpent fight tirelessly. Thor delivers deadly strikes only to have them met by deadly strike. Eventually, Thor leaps into the air and caves in Jormungandr's brains. But yet the fight is not done. The serpent falls to the ground, dead. But then, when it falls, its venom sacs release on Thor. The black venom is his death. He takes he nine steps, falls, and never rises again.

Odin charges Fenrir magic spear held high. But Fenrir kept his promise he made when he was bound. 'At the end of everything, I will be the one who kills you'. He swallows Odin whole. Chomp, gulp, burp, Bye bye chief of the gods. Vidar, Odin's son and god of vengeance, will see this.

Vidar runs to Fenrir and kills him. Vidar uses his left foot to hold Fenrir's bottom jaw open. Vidar has different feet. The right shoe is a regular shoe. The left is made from all the thrown out shoe scrap ever. If you want to help the Æsir in the final battle, throw out your scraps of leather. Vidar then stabs the wolf and kills him.

Loki battles Heimdall. In the end the stab each other in the gut. When they fall with their last breaths, they speak to each other. "It is done!" Whispers Loki, "I won!"

But Heimdall will grin then. "I can see further than you." He states. "Odin's son Vidar killed your son Fenris Wolf. And Vidar survives! And so does Vidar's brother Vali! Thor is dead, but his children Magni and Modi still live. They took Mjolnir from their fathers cold dead hands. And they survive!"

"None of this matters! The world is burning!" Says Loki, "The mortals are dead! Midgard is destroyed! I have won!"

"I can see further than you can Loki." Repeats Heimdall. "I can see all the way to the world tree. Surtrs flames that end the world cannot touch the world tree! Two mortals have hidden themselves in its trunk! The woman is Lif and the man is Lifthrasir (Lif=life Lifthrasir= Life's yearning). Their descendants will populate the earth. It is not the end, Loki. There is no end. Simply the end of the old times. We die to make way for the new. You have failed!"

Loki would have replied. Something sharp, cutting, and hurtful. He would if his life was not already gone. Heimdall dies beside him. Surtr expells flames in all directions and everything is burned to ash.

In the end few survive. Baldur has returned from the dead and lives again. Thor's sons, Magni and Modi, are strong enough to wield their father's hammer. Vidar and some other gods survive as well. But while they are building a new home on the ruins of Asgard, they spot something shining in the grass.

"What's that?" Asks Baldur. Magni is the first to discover the thing.

"Its a chess piece." He says. They continue to look and they find more pieces. Like Odin on his throne. Frey and other great ones. And others not so great. Loki's three monstrous children. Loki. And giants.

Soon they have All the pieces they need for game of chess. Baldur lifts his piece and the cycle of living and mythology and life and the nine worlds, restarts again. The old times are over. The gods and everyone else died and made way for the new times.
