Right now, it is time for a special celebration; The Faithful Ceremony. 

Amongst humans and dwarves it is known as marriage. 

This ceremony symbolizes the bond between suitor and consort and is celebrated for a whole week. 

After the last step is completed, the suitor must get on one knee and present you with a flower he or she has grown by her/himself. It is very important that the flower reflects the feelings of the suitor towards his consort. 

The consort has to accept the flower and it's meaning. Otherwise their won't be a Faithful Ceremony.

If the consort refuges the flower, it means that the courtship is ended. The suitor may never offer their courtship to the same hobbit again once their flower is rejected.

Here is a list of the flowers you can give and their meaning. Since it is important that you choose the right one, the list is going to be quite long:

- Alstroemeria; is a symbol of wealth, prosperity and fortune. Also the flower of friendship. This flower can be seen in two different ways: that the suitor has changed his mind and only wants to be friends. Or that he can take care of the consort in the best way because of his money.

- Amaryllis; symbol of splendid beauty. Also used to indicate worth beyond beauty. With this flower you let your consort know that he or she is the most beautiful being to you.

- Anemone; this flower indicates fading hope and a feeling of having been forsaken. It can also represent anticipation. I hope I don't need to explain why this can be seen as a negative thing...

- Anthurium; symbolizes hospitality, happiness and abundance. This is quite a good pick.

- Aster; stands for patience, love of variety, elegance and daintiness.

- Bird of Paradise; symbolizes joyfulness, magnificence and exciting and wonderfull anticipation.

- Bouvardia Double; enthusiasm and zest for life.

- Calla Lily; magnificence and beauty, combined with purity and innocence. Often chosen for weddings.

- Carnation; pride and beauty. A red carnation stands for; love, pride and admiration. A pink one symbolizes; love of a woman/mother. 

- Chrysanthemum; fidelity, optimism, joy and long life. 

- Daffodil; regard and chivalry, new life, new beginning and eternal life.

- Daisy; innocence, loyal love and purity.

- Gerbera; cheerfulness.

- Gladiolus; strenght of character, faithfulness and honor.

- Hydrangea; heartfelt emotions.

- Iris; eloquence, wisdom and compliments.

- Lilac; youtful innocence and confidence.

- Lily; purity and refined beauty.

- Peony; bashfulness and compassion.

- Protea King; daring and resourcefulness, diversity and courage.

- Queen Anne's Lace; haven, sanctuary, complexity and delicateness.

- Ranunculus; radiant charm, you are attractive.

- Rose; seriously, if you don't know this one...

- Snapdragon; seriousness and strength.

- Statice; remembrance, sympathy and success.

- Stock; lasting beauty and a happy life.

- Sunflower; pure thoughts, adoration and dedication, dedicated love.

- Sweet Pea; delicate pleasure and bliss.

- Tulip; declaration of love, fame and perfect love.

So you see that there is a wide varation of flowers you can pick. It is important that the suitor only gives one flower at this moment in your courtship.

The Faithful Ceremony only takes place with close friends and family. Both suitor and consort prepare a small speach. 

The closest hobbit, or friend, will lead the ceremony and will make the bond shared between the couple legal. No one is allowed to disturb this ceremony since there have already been planty of times where someone could have said something. 

And remember that each and every one is only allowed to speak their mind once!

The ceremony is always held outside with the whole place covered in different kinds of flowers. The suitor is allowed to use flowers grown by others. He, again, needs to be sure that the types of flowers are a reflection of his feelings towards the consort.

In tradition, the woman will wear a white dress and the man will wear a green suit. This may also be the reason why some people believe that lapricorn's are real. You simply could have seen a hobbit ready for his faithful ceremony.

After the ceremony, the whole town is invited to party with the new, official, couple. 

They eat and drink and dance for a whole week. Be sure you get enough rest before the ceremony takes place. It is considered rude to go home and take a nap. Let alone fall asleep!
