I will be best known for my name

For my old one was rather lame.

My name  gives some pride

 to some of those who live in the land where a noble bird resides

It is hard, in this family, to be the newest one

only named in, backwards, sixty-one.

This other one will be hard to understand;

But I am on an isolated island.

That is my final hint,

you'll eventually find me if you squint.
