🌠 Chapter-15🌠

YN barely had time to react. Her eyes widened, and instinctively, she pushed Jungkook—who was closest to her—out of the way. The attack missed her by inches, hitting the ground behind her with a loud crash, sending a shockwave of dust and debris around them.
"What the hell?!" Yoongi shouted, pulling YN back to her feet. The boys instinctively formed a protective circle around her, their senses on high alert.
"Who attacked us?!" Jin asked, scanning the area.
Lisa landed next to them in a flash, her wand already drawn. "Stay close to me," she said, her voice firm. Her eyes scanned the surroundings, but whoever launched the attack was nowhere to be seen.
"YN, are you okay?" Jimin asked, his hand on her shoulder, worry etched on his face.
"I'm fine," YN replied, though her shaky voice betrayed her fear. "That wasn't just a random spell. Someone meant to hurt me."
A sudden gust of wind swirled around them, and out of the shadows emerged a cloaked figure. Their face was obscured, but the malicious energy radiating from them was unmistakable.
"Who are you?" Namjoon asked, his voice steady but firm.
The figure didn't respond. Instead, they raised their wand again, aiming directly at YN.
"Ventusvox!" Lisa shouted, stepping forward just in time to deflect the next attack with a powerful shield spell. The clash of magic sent sparks flying, making the air buzz with energy.
"YN, stay behind us!" Hoseok said, gripping her arm to move her further back.
But YN shook her head, determination replacing the fear in her eyes. "No. If they're after me, I need to face them."
"Are you crazy?!" Lisa exclaimed. "This isn't some practice duet! That's dark magic they're using."
"I know," YN said, her voice steady now. "But I can't just hide."
Before anyone could argue further, the figure sent another wave of attacks. This time, the boys didn't hold back.
"Volus!" Jin yelled, aiming his wand at the figure, but they dodged with a quick flick of their wrist.
"Aetrosrtum!" Namjoon followed, but the figure countered with ease, sending a spell back that narrowly missed Taehyung.
Lisa gritted her teeth. "Whoever this is, they're skilled. We need to outsmart them, not overpower them."
"YN, do you know any spell that could help us?" Jungkook asked, his voice laced with urgency.
YN hesitated for a moment before nodding. "I do. But I'll need time to cast it."
"Do it," Yoongi said without hesitation. "We'll cover you."
The boys and Lisa stepped forward, forming a defensive barrier around YN. They hurled spells at the figure, forcing them to focus on dodging rather than attacking. Meanwhile, YN closed her eyes, gripping her wand tightly. She whispered an incantation under her breath, her voice steady and deliberate.
As her chant grew louder, a golden light began to form around her. The energy was palpable, and even the boys could feel its warmth.
The cloaked figure seemed to realize what was happening and tried to break through the defensive spells to reach YN. But Lisa wasn't letting that happen. "Not today!" she shouted, sending a powerful blast of magic that pushed the figure back several feet.
"Almost there," YN whispered to herself, the golden light now swirling around her like a storm. With one final word, she thrust her wand forward. "Lux Magna!"
A brilliant beam of light shot from YN's wand, illuminating the entire area. The figure let out a distorted scream as the light engulfed them, forcing them to retreat into the shadows.
When the light faded, the figure was gone.
Everyone stood frozen for a moment, catching their breath.
"What... what was that?" Jimin finally managed to say, his voice shaky.
YN lowered her wand, her shoulders slumping from exhaustion. "A spell to banish dark forces. It doesn't destroy them, but it forces them to retreat."
Hoseok stepped forward, placing a hand on YN's shoulder. "That was incredible, YN. But we aren't taught that spell yet. How—"
Before Hoseok could finish, the sound of hurried footsteps echoed from the distance. Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and other staff members appeared, their faces a mix of confusion and worry.
"What happened here?" Jisoo demanded, her sharp gaze falling on the group.
The boys exchanged glances, unsure of how much they should say. YN, however, stepped forward, her head held high despite her exhaustion.
"We were attacked," she said simply.
Jisoo's eyes narrowed. "By who?"
"We don't know," Lisa added, stepping in. "But whoever it was, they were skilled. We need to increase security."
Jisoo sighed, running a hand through her hair. "We'll deal with this later. For now, all of you, head back to the dorms. I'll inform the headmaster."
The group nodded and began walking away, their adrenaline finally wearing off. As they headed back, the boys couldn't help but glance at YN.
"You're full of surprises, you know that?" Jungkook said with a small smile.
YN smiled faintly. "You haven't seen anything yet," she said, walking into a different direction.
Here, Lisa told Jennie, Jisso and Rose whatever happened, "She used Lux Magna," she finished.
Jennie's eyes widened in disbelief. "Lux Magna? Are you sure she used that spell?"
Lisa nodded firmly. "I saw it with my own eyes. That light—it was unmistakable."
Rosé glanced nervously at Jisoo. "She's not supposed to know that spell. It's... restricted magic."
Jisoo pressed her lips into a thin line, her gaze fixed on the direction YN had walked. "She knows it because of her training. But it's not something we can let everyone find out about."
Jennie furrowed her brows. "You mean—"
"Yes," Jisoo interrupted, her voice low. "We all know where she learned it. But if word gets out, she'll be in more danger than she already is. No one can know."
Lisa crossed her arms, her expression tense. "She's already a target. Whoever attacked her today, they knew something. We need to tighten security and keep her close."
Rosé nodded. "But what if she uses more magic like that in front of others? It's not exactly subtle."
"We'll figure it out," Jisoo said firmly. "For now, no one says a word about this. If anyone asks, we chalk it up to raw talent and instincts."
Jennie sighed, rubbing her temples. "And if the headmaster finds out?"
Jisoo's expression hardened, her voice steady and commanding. "I'll handle the higher-ups. Jennie, Rosé, I need you to talk to YN. Make sure she understands the importance of keeping this under wraps. Lisa, you're in charge of altering the boys' memory. Replace the name 'Lux Magna' with something less suspicious—a standard light spell."
Lisa nodded, though a hint of unease flickered in her eyes. "Are you sure about this? Tampering with memories isn't exactly easy, especially with that many people."
Jisoo's gaze softened slightly. "I know it's a lot to ask, but we can't risk the truth getting out. The boys are new here. They'll trust what they're told as long as we keep the narrative consistent."
Jennie sighed, glancing at Rosé. "We'll talk to her. But if YN's anything, it's stubborn. Convincing her to stay quiet won't be simple."
"Then don't convince her—make her understand what's at stake," Jisoo said sharply. "She's smart. She'll get it."
Without further discussion, the group split off, each heading to their assigned task.
In YN's dorm, Jennie knocked twice before pushing the door open. YN was seated on the edge of her bed, staring at the floor. She looked up, her face calm but her eyes betraying a whirlwind of emotions.
"We need to talk," Jennie said, her tone firm yet kind.
YN nodded silently, motioning for them to come in. Rosé closed the door behind her, ensuring their privacy.
"You know what you did out there," Jennie began, sitting across from YN. "Using Lux Magna wasn't just risky—it could expose everything."
"I know," YN replied, her voice quiet but steady. "I didn't have a choice. If I hadn't used it, someone could've gotten hurt."
Rosé sat beside her, placing a comforting hand on YN's shoulder. "We understand that, but you have to be more careful. Spells like that—people will start asking questions. Dangerous questions."
YN sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I didn't plan it, okay? It just... happened. It felt like instinct."
Jennie leaned forward, her gaze piercing. "Instinct or not, you can't let it happen again. At least not in front of others. Jisoo's already working to contain this, but the more you use that magic, the harder it'll be to keep it under control. You know how important it is YN... I just want you to be more careful in the future."
YN nodded slowly, understanding their words. "I'll be more careful. I promise."
Meanwhile, Lisa stood outside the boys' common room, her wand in hand. Taking a deep breath, she muttered a spell under her breath, cloaking herself in an invisibility charm before slipping inside. She found the boys gathered, still buzzing about the day's events.
"Man, that spell YN used was insane," Taehyung said, leaning back in his chair. "What was it called again?"
Lisa's heart raced as she raised her wand, whispering the incantation to modify their memories. A soft, golden mist enveloped the room, and the boys' chatter quieted as the spell took effect.
"It was just a standard flash spell," Lisa murmured, planting the replacement memory in their minds. "Nothing special."
The mist dissipated, and Lisa stepped back, watching as the boys blinked, their expressions shifting as if trying to recall something fuzzy.
"Yeah, just a flash spell," Namjoon said, rubbing his chin. "Still pretty cool, though."
Lisa exhaled in relief, slipping out of the room unnoticed as the boys continued to discuss how cool YN was and sharing how it felt to use magic against something evil.
Later that evening, Jisoo gathered the group in her office. Jennie, Rosé, Lisa, and YN stood in a tense circle.
"Is everything handled?" Jisoo asked, her tone leaving no room for doubt.
Lisa nodded. "The boys' memories are altered. They think it was a simple spell now."
Jennie chimed in, "YN understands the importance of keeping her abilities under control."
Jisoo's sharp gaze landed on YN, who stood tall despite the tension. "Good. Because from now on, there's no room for mistakes. If the wrong people find out, it won't just be you in danger. It'll be all of us."
YN swallowed hard but nodded. "I understand."
"Good," Jisoo said, her expression softening just slightly. "Now get some rest. We'll need all our strength for whatever's coming next."
